- Another music video I made a few years ago. She's Demona. She walks alone. I figured this song was perfect for her.
That, and as I've mentioned before, Demona is pretty much my favorite villain of all time. "Gargoyles" was awesome.

I think he means by the bat-like design and fangs. Coupled with the nocturnal aspects of th Gargoyles, it is pretty vampiric. Not to mention her sweeping, epic backstory. There's a lot there to connect to classic vampire mythos.
She’s a very interesting character! Her backstory and how she seems to make things worse for herself keep me invested!
She is by far the greatest Disney villain.
Maleficent? Scar? Jafar? Frollo?
All of them are NOTHING compared to Demona.

Exactly. Demona feels like an actual rounded person, while the others villains - while still being great charm wise - are still just cartoony characters (except for perhaps Frollo, and perhaps even Scar to an extent.)

I think Demona is the closest thing we have to a Disney created (and serious minded) animated vampire. Just look at the first scene with her.

In S02E08, it’s ironic that Young Demona thaught Future Demona is crazy and she didn't want to be Future Demona.

@Kelseyalicia There are three "Gargoyles" graphic novels available on amazon. Gargoyles Clan Building Volumes 1 and 2, and Gargoyles Bad Guys. I recommend picking them up. They're the real third season.

Demon is someone you both love to hate, and you can sympathize with her given her past. though I admit she kind of screwed herself with MacBeth, the "Demona is her own worst enemy" is so damn accurate

When you just sitting around and you realize that characters like Demona and Magneto (you know, the whole "some rando willing and able to call bullshit on 'humanity'" backstory) only really exist because the creators couldn't come up with an actual villain, so they decided to rein-fucking-force humans as the "real heroes"...
Demona is very cool and hot!
Demona is crazy and evil, but she is a very interesting character.

@Kelseyalicia Good for you, but I am really not interested in fanfic characters. The only version of "Gargoyles" that interests me is Greg Weisman's.

I feel srry for the human statues she destroyed, and the gargoyle statues that have been destroyed through out the years.
David Hawkins yeah this was one dark cartoon and Demona was just as genocidal towards humanity as Phaeton was in Exo Squad.
Frank G Weisman has hinted that Demona has had some involvement in the second world war. As it is, I think the Demona episodes we got were perfect and I thought seeing her involved with events depicted by Shakespeare was awesome, and I'd take that over Nazis.

@GregXB3 Well I pefer to read the Saga every chance I get. For me that the true ending. Not that non-canon third season.

@Kelseyalicia I prefer the comics. I worked on the Saga and even I hate the Saga. The comics, written by Greg Weisman, are the true continuation.... none of this Demona reforming because Angela waves a finger in her face and Andrea Calhoun crap.
@GregXB3 welcome. I've got my own OC for gargoyles. Vixen Diane Maza. Daughter of Goliath and Elisa. She's headstrong, outspoken and very daring and brave. And a bit of a showoff. My twin sister on the hand has and OC too. Her's is Tina a clone of Queen Titiana whom becomes Elisa adopted daughter. She falls in love with Owen/Puck and marries him in the future and is named Avalon's heir.

How's her personality vampiric? Projecting guilt and self loathing onto everybody else isn't something I read in "Dracula." An unquenching desire for vengeance? Hatred and bigotry? I just don't see it. Sorry.

Tbh I don't think it's fair to call Demona a villain,
She's faced her clan family murdered, used and abused by people she tried to trust, having some psychos spend 900 years trying to murder her for existing, and watching humans go in circles doing the same dumb violent shit to each other bigger and badder through time,
She's a repeat trauma victim with every right to be pessimistic seeing humans incapable of learning from their mistakes
She did it all to herself. She helped the massacre happen in the first place. She could have warned her clan, but chose to trust the captain with all of their lives except her own.
She is also a mass murderer... what did those people walking up and down Fifth Avenue ever do to her or any gargoyles?
And she has repeatedly tried to murder her remaining family over and over again. By gargoyle standards, Hudson is her father. Why does he deserve to die.
She is also incapable of learning from her mistakes.
@@GregXB3 granted the original massacre of her clan was her fault, but her next adopted clan spent decades fleeing from human persecution, until mcbeth took them in and they all got killed in his battles, making and tbh if she had trouble finding other gargoyles after that itd be supposed they were all murdered before she could find a new clan in scotland
plus the hunter family hounding her every step of the way for said 900 years from country to country in europe, all the while watching humans be violent retards to each other let alone anything not human, where would she settle down to try making a fresh start as opposed to becoming an opportunist trying to survive
and for the humans on 5th, after 1000 years of persecution anyone would probably decide fuck humans long before then
