- The results of the gamejam were released and I got a chance to see what people REALLY thought of my game. So I went through the game and fixed up things based on comments and playtest videos people left me.
If you're curious about the code on screen, this game was made using Gdevelop.

Well, this was a rather stressful jam, with all of the mishaps that happened.
So being able to go back and tweak/polish it in to something that I can be a little more proud of, just made sense. 😅

Also, my old videos are so cringe, I have a hard time watching them. I really wanted to go back and rework them, but the good people of twitter voted and so I'm keeping them there as a reminder of where I started. 😅
Love the updates! I feel tricked that you weren’t in the Bahamas, but glad my suggestion worked out so well! Though I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to suggest it ;) overall great vid, great game!
Probably for the best that I didn't go there. I burn REALLY easily. 😅
The suggestion was spot on. A lot of people suggested changing the combo system so you wouldn't be locked in like that, but I don't remember seeing any comments suggesting the dash as the solution. 🤔
Jeez, I was so jealous about the bahama's... but Canada, would love to visit that too! XD

Thanks! and especially the story getting moved. Watching playthroughs was painful as each one started with a "HOW MUCH DIALOGUE IS THERE" moment. 😅
@@HelperWesley Yeah I did remember when I played it, I read a lot of the starting dialogue but I couldn't read it all due to time constraints x)
@@GamesBySaul That too, it was just.... too long for a jam game. All of it was. The whole concept was too much for a person playtesting for a jam.
Poor choices lead to that absolutely deserved rank, now that I really look at it. lol.
@@HelperWesley Then this is a great learning opportunity , I think most people for a jam game want something short and snappy that leaves them wanting more!

I knew that going in, and I'd tell that to anyone who asked me about gamejams, but somehow the idea of recreating hades got stuck in my head....

I’m genuinely thinking of giving GDevelop. I thought it didn’t have the potential to make good stuff with it because of you. But after I master python though lol. Great video!

I haven't run across any 2D game ideas that I haven't been able to turn in to a reality. Sleeper games also creates some REALLY cool stuff with Gdevelop.
