How to Tape a Moving Box

Unfold Your Box
Many people overlook the fact that manufacturers put handy tabs right on packing boxes. When you're ready, you can fold them back and forth, and then down. Looking from the top side of the box, you can open it up, lean in, and easily start putting your items inside. Try to keep the tabs from separating, or ripping, so you can maintain the integrity of the box.
Prepare Your Tape
For your comfort, use box cutters to cut the tape, or tearable packing tape.
Add Your Tape to the Box
Take a piece of tape, and put one right down the middle of the two flaps on the bottom. Then, on the side seams, apply the tape across lengthwise, and pinch it, fold it like a little triangle on an angle, then fold the flap down.

getting ready to move and want to make sure im using the right tape, what is the name of the brown tape you are using?
The colour of the tape doesn't matter but make sure it's polypropylene because the cheap stuff that you get in small local shops we'll just tear and the adhesive will come detached and everything will fall out of the bottom. A good roll of tape will cost you about 10 dollars a bad roll of tape will cost you 1 dollar and the contents of your box

what kind of tape would you recommend for a small heavy duty box that holds 50 lbs of books to ship into amazon fba?
Just saw this. I would use brown tape that looks like that brown paper that we used in school as kids to secure anything heavy.
