Was already REALLY overweight and out of shape at that point - mostly due to my own behavior and partially due to medical issues. To say I was motivated is a complete understatement and did not let any excuses or "yeah buts" get in the way of working to get healthier. Have lost 115 lbs and maintained it so far for a year now. Channels like this were definitely part of the supportive arsenal to "get in" and "stay in" right mind-frame. Also helped that I learned to actually cook. And by cook, I mean making very convincing healthier doppleganger versions of foods I love and incorporated more fruits and veggies. Then worked in the physical activity progressively as weight came off and capabilities progressed. Thank you for your deep dive explorations on so many health-related topics.

I incorporated higher protein, and kept my calories just under (by several hundred to 500 cal deficit) maintenance thru combo of diet and excercise. How I actually did it- First got TDEE calculator and got a general range of where I should be with moderate carb/protein macros. Then literally wrote down everything I ate for nearly a month manually tallying calories/macros and weight self daily to see if I was trending up or down in weight to further dial in what I was intaking. Then I came up MyFitnessPal and found there was a MUCH easier way to count macros/calories. Also invested in a Withings scale and connect app to My FitnessPal. I swapped out lots of sauces for less calorie or less sugar versions (not keto but sometimes cutting added sugars here gives flexibility elsewhere for calories) I basically made some thought concessions and swaps. Lean meats like 93/7 ground beef or Turkey compared to regular 80/20 beef….turkey pepperoni or sausage in place or regular….channels like ExcerciseforCheatMeals, Remington James, Will Tennyson, Greg Doucette, and many more like it. I took what I could from those channels and modified where needed. It has been actually pretty fun and exciting to see how I could make really convincing doppelgängers that were really close to originals but much healthier and taste good, while being calorie/macro friendly. Had paradigm shift on how I viewed food. Once a good amount of weight came off (60ish pounds) I noticed I didn’t hurt all the time and was able to incorporate more exercise in. Paradigm shift here too- went from “oh my God I don’t want to exercise because it hurts and sucks ass” to “I get to exercise because I don’t hurt anymore…and I want to….and might not always be able to once I’m an old fart so let’s do this!” This was totally doable and literally have no thyroid due to Graves Disease. Thought I would never be able to lose weight and get healthier but it is possible, and does have to break the bank (for programs) or feel like a punishment. I literally CAN have the regular treats and fun foods now because of balance and mindful eating and physical activity elsewhere. And owe soooo soooo sooo soooo much to YT channels like these!!!!!☺️💯🙏🏼

I personally lost 66 lbs (30’kg) in 8 months on a high fat - low carb diet. I went to the gym 5x a week and did cardio 2x a week. It took a lot of commitment and mental strength, but it was worth it at the end. Losing weight is incredibly easy if you know what you’re doing 😊

its all about calorie control, but I beleive insulin plays a big role too - personally 3 meals a day encourages over eating and that is why IF works so well for people
The couple months of pain is worth it, trust me. I lost 30 pounds in 60 days, I know people have lost more in less time but it’s still extreme IMO. Under 1700 calories for the majority of the time and a shit ton of exercise, looking back I don’t know how I even did it, but I’m forever happy I did

i lost 30 pounds in two months without going to the gym or working out rigorously. I woke up, had a coffee, 2 hours later 2 boiled eggs and at night less than 1k calories. it was fucking terrible but it worked and ive kept it off. i didnt go to the gym because i didnt want to eat less than 1.5k calories and work out because i would give up. so once i reached my target weight i began to work out.
you could've replaced the 2 boiled eggs with 2 100g chicken breasts, it tastes better, gives you what you need in protein and that would make you feel fuller, and you'd still be under 1k calories, you could add those 2 eggs every meal and still be under 1k.

I actually followed this recommendation and lost 60 lbs in a little over 4 months. Stopped drinking, there is a high I feel from just working out now where I feel fulfilled mentally and no longer drink alcohol unless I’m at a social event even then it’s rare I even pick up a drink these days.

Of course not everyone has this problem when fasting but who fasts? Usually people with weight problems and yo-yo diets. Why do they have weight problems and do yo-yo diets? Because they starve then binge and repeat. It's an eating disorder.

@@MuwahhidNeef yes and I've heard of disordered eating. Not eating all day increases hunger to binge eat later. Avoiding food all day doesn't decrease desire to eat an uncontrollable caloric bolus. Of course not everyone has this problem when fasting but who fasts? Usually people with weight problems and yo-yo diets. Why do they have weight problems and do yo-yo diets? Because they starve then binge and repeat. It's an eating disorder.
