Months ago I found your channel and watched as many videos as I could to understand the mechanics of spinning. I love how you communicate and explain everything. Now I spin every single day. Thank you for being a part of my fibre art journey ❤

I am learning so much from you already. I am from the UK but we moved to rural Bulgaria a few years ago. I am learning to knit ( for the 1000th time but this time I have it) and I crochet a lot and well.
I want to make my own yarn from wool from the sheep and goats that are basically free range with a shepherd in our village. The whole sheep to shawl shebang, dyeing included.
I am super interested in all your techniques and I would be interested in seeing felting.
You are a good, clear, interesting and enthusiastic teacher. Thank you.😀
Let your kids and animals be in the background, I think, it just sounds like home. Well, mine anyway. Everything here is done in the high decibel ranges. Lol.

Aww, thank you. Yes, I will add that to the list. I'd love to live somewhere like that how beautiful it sounds. It's taken me long enough to learn how to knit, and this time round, I seem to have taken to it, lol. Much love, light, and big hugs xx

Hello, this is the first time I have seen you.
At 72, I have bought myself a drop spindle, actually wanted a support spindle.
My Welsh grandmother used to do it all, as we lived in Sunderland, in North east England we did not see a lot of her, but watching it was like magic.
I will be going through your videos.

I did a burn test on some of mine and it had the right smell but also melted so erm......i think they diluting it with just enough natural fibre to prevent us from diagnosing the lies 🧐

Hi Sadie darling, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so much for sharing this video podcast.
I love the bargains you have bought on Temu.
The small packets of fibre are usually sold as Needle Felting Wool. Some of it is Merino but mostly it's Acrylic.
My Blending Board is quite large and cost me bout £110 that was in 2021, so can imagine that it would cost more now.
I love, the Drop Spindle Chris bought you for Christmas it does look pretty.
I can't use mine for long before my shoulders and back start hurting, I'm so glad that I have the
eWheel 6 to spin on. The motor on my Nano1.1 needs replacing but as I can do everything on the 6 I'm not too bothered, except I do miss using it, but the 6 has large bobbins.
Hope you have a Wonderful Weekend 🤗🤗

Good thing the fiber was free. Good fiber is worth the price for the end result. I have two small drop spindles, they have a very long spin time which I love. Each weighs 0. 6 ounces. Spin like a dream and because of the weight, they can spin a very fine lace weight easily. The top is 2 inches across, with pigtail hooks, love those the best as they hold so much better. Nice long dowel too, so I can get quite a bit on them. It's not as fast as my e spinner, but I can put the spindles, and a batch of fiber in a small bag and take it anywhere. I get fidgety when there's nothing to do, you know? Nice video! XOXOfor you, for the crap fiber lol.

Me again 😁 I bought the same swift last month and it turns well but the dowels bend towards the centre shortening or dropping the yarn so its frustrating as- ive now glued them in as a fix! Would love to see how you renovate it as just what i was thinking! Also Sadie would you review some of the cashmere , alpaca and mohair yarns please? I got some alpaca but think its acrylic but all reviews are making me swear as theyre 5 star which makes me think they dont know the difference between alpaca and a bin bag! 🤣 Keep up the fab content bug hugs xxx

Thank you Sadie this is helpful! I have noticed their fiber is not animal hair and it’s very chalky and very short because it’s been cut. I don’t like it either. The smaller of the drop spindles would be my choice because the shaft is not so fat. But the fiber is definitely not good. Thank you for the demo on the blending board. I have one to try and now I learned you have to go backwards with the brush. Thanks a lot

Just found your channel today. Thanks for doing this video! I was curious about what you'd picked and tested. I learned a lot. I've been a knitter for years & years, but haven't played with fiber. I'm on a spinning kick lately- watching a ton of videos and that's how I found yours. Have you tried any of the e-spinners from Temu?

  • @catherinez1268
    @catherinez1268 7 дней назад

The problem with the fiber is that it's very poor quality. It is not intended for spinning it's intended for felting. Also I think your thin spindle is probably made of maple and the chunky one is probably made of pine (which is lighter weight than the maple.)
