    Ofcause you can hike with it, I had the last model and completed a 1000km thru hike and I was carrying sometimes upto 19kg on 9 day stretches between towns. Though you haven’t even tried it so don’t tell others they can’t.

      Thank you for your comment. Yes of course you can - simply the comment that there are lighter bags out there. A multi - multi day is what I said it was for- prolonged use etc where durability is key..

    Not a trekking bagback? I started trekking with stuff that forced me to carry up to 25 kg, the industry has come so far, that I'm actually starting to lose respect for it, trekking is supposed to suck in a good way. If they keep making stuff lighter and lighter I'll one day reach the point where I'm stuffing stones in my backpack, just so I can feel I'm doing something.

      I do hear what you’re saying absolutely..however after using the super light weight pack it spoilt me . I am walking some of the coast path this summer and need durability over lightweight and so will be using the aether. I trek a bit over Dartmoor and sometimes the miles there can be incredibly arduous - every ounce hurts- but yes , we are spoilt , and yes we moan about everything- me included. Thanks for reply and happy hiking to you!!

      @@kernowoutdoors it was meant a bit as a joke, but not quite, after being in the army for years, I kind of got use to just being miserable. But I think it's a good thing it gets lighter and easier, it will most likely make it easier for beginners to enjoy hiking, and thats a good thing, because let's be honest, if you try hiking for the first time when you are 30, the physical part will NOT be fun. And for us knuckle heads, we don't have to upgrade to feather wiegth stuff, we can just stay miserable😀
      By the way I have the aether plus 70, went from my old army backpack to this, and it's like night and day, it feels like they molded this backpack to my body. I do though really miss the volume and expansion options I had on my army one, it could easily go from 80 to 100l with some bags you could attach.
      Well I never hiked across the channel, I mostly hiked in Sweden and Norway. I live in Denmark there's no great hiking areas, sadly.
      Edit: of course I didn't hike over the channel, you get my point.

      @@kewsoner7924 I understand your point totally! Thank you for your comments and I wish you well! Covid as thwarted me hiking anywhere over seas- but hopefully soon! If you ever make it over the channel I’d be more than happy to recommend some good hikes!! Keep well!

    For the daylid day pack, what did you hook the straps into? Mine doesn't have a buckle and I'm not sure how attach the straps

    • @kernowoutdoors
      @kernowoutdoors  3 года назад +3

      @kelly there are two tiny eyelets …. The straps go through- not ideal but … if you look on the daypack elsewhere you can see the straps somewhere else go through eyelets. I’m away from home for a few days but will update you with a video on the lid !! :-)

    how much of the total 70L capacity do you think the detachable daypack includes?

      I would say … 15 l ….. I’ve not used the bag in a while, but will have a look tomorrow and gauge better … :-)

    Small pockets on the hip belt! Why weren't they made big? Is it that hard? But on the Aether Pro version they did! And there is no smartphone pocket on the shoulder strap. And the pocket for the drinking system is more convenient when it is on the outside, and not on the inside. Sucks!

    Terrible review. Get a script. Also, get a table. Watching you struggle to hold balenced so much, I would never want it...
