thanks man, helped me get some good games in my stock ship :) you deserve much more attention, but its great to be able to say I was there when this all started.
Hi, how are you able to aim with a birds eye view? Is it automatic after your ship is aiming at a target at a certain range? Whenever I shoot it is a view from the waterline. Thanks!
Any thoughts on the efficacy of a full spotting plane build for something like Hindy? I need to make some choices right now on which captains to give XP to and I'm wondering if I should pull one of the special German captains to be my Hindy captain rather than my mainline German BB captain (Lutjens is either going to the battlecruisers or one of the DD lines).
I'm still not a huge fan of playing a build that WANTS to hold Hindy at long range. Sooner or later some enemy BB - probably a Vermont, the way my luck goes - will get a good RNG roll and drop 3 cits through my deck. If she finds herself wanting to try and burn down or finish off a target and needs the spotter plane, sure. But building for it is, ultimately, playing against the strengths of her armor scheme and will eventually backfire, IMHO.
@@SeaRaptor Thanks for the response! I’m pretty early in the cruiser line so I don’t really know what to expect from the turtleback cruisers. That logic makes sense. Its kinda the inverse relationship to range that a lot of cruisers have.
You had a few things wrong with the Blucher story. First of The commander knew it was a large warship, and smaller escorts coming up the fjord. He received reports from lookouts and small gun batteries towards the mouth of the Oslo fjord. These smaller gun batteries also had searchlights, so he knew very well what he was dealing with. He had not received any indication that Norway was at war, nor any instructions on what to do. He tried to get his orders, but this was in the middle of the night and the persons in high command was sleeping/waking up and things were in chaos. So he did not get any orders. It was then that he said the now famous words: "either I get a medal or I will be court martialed" and gave the order to open fire. One of the first shots hit the fire control center on Blucher, so the return fire was inaccurate, further shots set fire to the ship, and as Blucher passed through the arcs of fire from the guns, they launched the torpedoes, which was old whitehead torpedoes.

Raptor. Question. I played with a total potato DM player last week, dude less than 1000 battles and avg xp less than 1000. I suggested post chat to the player they they might stay in lower tiers and try to learn the game better. Not well received. Did I overstep?
I don't think it's really up for me to speak for the other player. If it were me, I might be a bit torqued. Your intentions are in the right place - Tier X is incredibly unforgiving and most players don't really appreciate it - but it's all in the delivery. My experience is that players that want to get better actively seek out ways to do that on their own; players who don't want to improve aren't going to do so nor take suggestions.
Hindy is exception (due the her barrel amount) but rest of the line is strike team relying and has 0 carrying potential. And this game is about doing damage....
We disagree. Their survivability absolutely gives them carry potential. Eugen moreso than Hipper, of course - that heal is amazing - but Roon certainly can.
@@SeaRaptor Hi SR. I agree that German CA have above average survivability. What I meat was if you team lost few ships at the beginning (quite often lately in randoms) due to low damage output they are not ships to campensate it
@@JanKowalski-si6sm Reasonable. Destroyers and battleships are the ones that typically high alpha strike potential (either from torps or large-caliber shells). Cruisers tend to take more time to whittle down a target, but if your team is down several ships early then you may not have the time you need to make up that ground.
@@SeaRaptor Best thing is, Hindy doesn't need it. She's such a good gun platform, and is already decently tanky as is. She doesn't need a gimmick to be fun or effective and I love that.
Hi SeaRaptor, I did like the video but I must tell you it was the worse of this German cruisers line videos. Boggzy game sound was way too high and i could barely hear what you were saying, also, the info was not what I was expecting, no commander build or modules were mentioned in the entire piece. Nevertheless, please keep up the good work, love your vids.
We did get a bit rushed towards the end of the stream. The modules and commander skills I use are listed in the video description. If you have any questions about those, I'm happy to answer.
I have a bunch of First Look videos on the Pan-Asian cruiser line, but given that it isn't released yet teaching it would be a bit challenging. I don't even own the ships.
Boggzy trying to catch himself about dumping on CV's but it's clear he doesn't like them (and good for him). This is what being connected to WG like that makes you do: it makes you lie, obfuscate. Not pretty. Oh and 'magnifique' in German: Grossartig.
Thanks for the German! Boggzy is allowed to have an opinion on CVs, same as anyone else. I have my own opinions (I generally don't mind them in randoms, in competitive the spotting is oppressive, and Soviet CVs are stupid). The difference is likely that he has to be constructive in how he phrases his opinion, whereas non-employees don't, necessarily. =)
@@SeaRaptor, using the term 'constructive' when talking about feedback to WG is triggering. The truth is that 'constructive' has no real meaning and is basically interpreted as 'no criticism allowed' by certain WG staff. Some are willing to take constructive criticism, but others are not. And you WILL eventually fall foul of those who won't take criticism and they will ban you for not being 'constructive'. FYI
We have different experiences providing feedback to WG, then. When I say "constructive", what I really mean is "respectful". Quite a few players (and the occasional CC) fail to interact with the devs in a respectful fashion. "CVs suck, you should all be fired for including them" will draw a very different reaction from St. Pete than "it feels like the CV interaction with DDs still isn't where it needs to be". I've never had any problem providing feedback in the latter style to WG and getting them to engage and respond. They don't always agree, and they will always make decisions based on their reasons and not ours. But they at least hear and acknowledge.
Wasn't so much a "how to" as it was a "watch this" match.... still fun match to watch! I always enjoy SeaRaptor's content

If you are using a spotting aircraft, you can now manually toggle between "regular" view and "birds eye" view when zoomed in by pressing the 'C' key.

There is a few tier ten ships that should be a player's first and Hindenburg is definitely one of them.
