many people fail to realize that the short gunrange on italian dds is actually a blessing in disguise, when apparently all they can imagine is farming from afar, which is obviously not what italian dd are designed to do. 7:30-7:40 is a perfect example of what the proper utilization looks like. one of my other favourite activities is shooting capital ships in bow and stern with sap from short range, dipping in and out of detection range as i please, which sometimes goes horribly wrong, but more often than not it doesnt. playing italian dds is not for the timid or passive, its like a fulminant opera that usually ends in great triumph or utter tragedy.
Hmm. A fair question. I would say: try it without and see if you feel like you're missing something. There are times that having the ability to sit behind an island or in smoke and harass a battleship with your guns at long range is fun or useful.

100%. The gun range feels like a horrible handicap at first, but if used correctly it's a major asset.
Good vids Raptor. Love how you tell us,how you think. I am close to unlocking Chung mu. Do you think, it is best not to upgrade the gun range?
