Great video guys - best explanation of shutter speed I've seen. The drummer was an awesome example!
^^^^^^^^^
LEGEND
Thanks Ted! I've been wanting to show that demonstration for a long time!
Oh. It's you. Wow.
yeah, very helpful, best explanation i've seen. i'd really like to see more of this.
Have to agree here, I've always heard about it but never seen it demonstrated so clearly. Good job guys.
I vote yes for more of this!!! 6 gold stars!!!! Video tips AND photo tips mixture would be awesome. DPR got much more informative and less snobby when they they hired the big guns!!!! I vote for trapezoid..........
Dave Nelson I'm a contrarian. I prefer rectangle.
Legend say, they’re still at the lake arguing between square and trapezoid
A square is also a trapezoid, in either case saying "trapezoid" will be right.
Xavier Ancarno I prefer rectangle!
Yeah, but they're both wrong. It's a parallelogram!
..Joe
I would have used the term "quadrilateral." Trapezoids, parallelograms, squares, rhombuses, they're all quadrilaterals.
These days, is there a practical difference between NTSC and PAL?
My vote is that you should keep on going in this way, you are doing a great job. Very easey to understand and usefull!
Thanks again from Brazil
You summed up in ten minutes what it took me years to learn.
They just put all the essential techniques for video in one single tutorial, this is great indeed. With more videos like this everyone will learn much faster. Greetings from Brazil.
Not only was I in great need for the actual information, I love how you made this with humor and at quick and tight pace. Thank you!
It's great for you both to move from TCSTV to DP, because can focus on making videos, not only gears review, but valuable tutorials too!
Looking forward to your new journey, definitely enjoy more and more good contents.
Jordan's finally getting his video dedicated series, great!
This legitimately makes my day seeing you two do a tutorial. Amazing!!!
I liked how the explanation is simplified
You guys are the best!
I'm one who would enjoy seeing more of these, and respect Jordan's experience. I've been shooting stills forever, but my video tends to be less than stellar. Everything from basics onward is welcome! Thanks.
Thanks for this. I have enjoyed taking stills for many years, but I am new to video, and your shutter speed comparisons perfectly showed why it is so important.
I've never had much interest in video, but I must admit, this was at the very least an informative watch.
Holy shite guys, while I knew all of this, this is just an amazing video! Take it from dude who works in a camera store, you guys nailed this, amazing! Thank you!
deepers is perfect - use it - it opens up so many opportunities for connotations, innuendo, strongly implies your audience are people who like in-depth reviews and, if nothing else, rhymes with sneakers
Yes these are the videos I am interested in. Keep the tutorials coming :)
love the direction this is going, great job guys, looking forward to more
Great job Chris and Jordan!
Just jumped onto this from your newer RUclips guides. You should totally refresh this for your RUclips studio guides
I need these videos more than everyone.
Very good! A lucid, easy-to-understand explanation of the exposure square. Well done, men! I've been photographing for decades, doing video for less than one decade, so this is very helpful!
The tip on fixed vrs variable ND filters was gold! Never knew that, in learning about video for 5-6 years. That alone makes this episode gold. And, you guys are naturals. Once a week is fine with me, with an occasional gear review thrown in. I do like a slightly slower, more relaxed pace, like the fishing video.
Really good vid, very clear. Looking forward to more on this subject. Cheers guys!
I'm thrilled and excited to know more. You're incredible, guys!!
Best video I've ever watched on DPReview channel! Informative, tight pace, and even has humor in it! I'd love to see more tutorial videos aside from gear reviews from you guys!
Hoping someday you could give tips about static and dynamic camera movements.
Best episode so far! You guys rock when you play against each other!
Fantastic instructional video, thank you Chris and Jordan!
So glad you made this! Great job guys!
Very useful. I don't do a lot of video but now i understand more of the basics
Thank you soooooo much. Great video!!!! KEEP THEM COMING... JUST SUBSCRIBED!
Would appreciate greater than one video a week... That was my big hope by you all moving to DP Review
Easy, useful, to the point, fun. Exactly what I need as I move from photography to video recording. Good stuff!
Awesome thanks! I don't have any clue when it comes to video and this video is great!
Amazing video! Even better than gear review. You guys put all the essential techniques in one single tutorial, thank you very much. Funny and instructive as always.
I've been waiting for videography tutorials! Thanks!
Great video guys! As someone transitioning from photography to hybrid shooting I welcome such a series ✌
Really interesting stuff! Thanks guys! I´d love to see a complete behind the scenes of the making of an episode. With all the practical steps, preparation work, all the intricacies, lighting, sound, you guy´s comments about what you´re just doing and why you´re doing it and on and on and on..... right to the process of editing and uploading! I´m a curious person, right? It really intrigues me, I think it´s the fastest way to learn for photographers who want to get into the video side of things.
Very good, easy understandable & helpful video :-) !! Thanks, great to watch
We want MORE!!!! Thanks!
Great video, looking forward to more in this series!
Awesome! That thing with the door cracked me up. :D

Awesome! Looking forward to more!
Thank you guys, waiting for something like this for a long time. Looking forward for more.
a video about panning with 24p on the GH5 would be great!
8:58 Jordan says square as he holds up a rectangle. :) Thanks for another great video guys!
It was only when I was editing that moment that I realized my index fingers are longer than my thumbs.
"Hey everyone, it's Jordan"... *legs suggestively crossed, short shorts on show. Love it.
Great video guys !! Very informative. Really enjoyed it. Thanks
DPReview made a really good choice scooping these 2 up
Really great referential video guys. Teaching some kids about filmmaking at the moment and this is an ideal reference point to send them to.
You guys flow really well. Lots of info and you don't just love to hear your own voice. Thumbs up. I'm going to look for any Panasonic Vlog stuff you have now.
Brothers, YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR NEWEST VIDEOS TO BE ON THE lEFT SIDE OF YOUR PAGE .All the best and thanks for everything you do.
Great info, thanks... Looking for more on video.

DPRS I Like it

I'am starting to dive into video, so yes, please go on with that series.
Nice!! Looking forward to more down-to-earth stuff on shooting quality video with basic gear. Generally there are just too many options to choose from. Simplifying for me is the magic word. Thanks!
Awesome! Looking forward to Log/RAW video tutorials
This is awesome! I love this kind of content :)
Fantastic video guys!
Beautiful. A perfect amount of information.
You guys are the Bill Nyes of photography and videography. Love it. Thanks!
Probably? Get on it son. I can never expose log with confidence. Help is needed and needed now. Thank you
these were awesome tips! please do a video about raw recording for video (s-log,f-log etc) too guys
You guys are the best. Thank you
Love this content! Very useful tutorial..
Good job guys. Great video.
Very good. About time some straightforward and straight-talking photography tips, info and tricks. Gives me some of my "MO-JO" to get my camera out and get shooting. Thanks guys and DPReview. Well done. Thanks.
This was great. Very informative for a novice with video.
Useful tips guys. Thanks a lot.
Very good, hope this is the start of a beginners series
Looking for in depth episode about picture profiles. And thank you for this one.
Useful, thanks. More videography topics, please.
I am very happy to see more episodes about videography and I hope to learn a lot from you. So I vote yes for more educational videos.
Excellent guys...great idea on the tutorial. Im not a video shooter but enjoyed the bite sized tips!!
This is excellent and just what I needed. I am a real estate photographer and want to get into real estate videography. I need all the help I can get!
Great work guys!
Great job guys! I usually take photos but this one still benefits...
Great video guys!
Very useful and yes defiantly do more of these! A few ideas I have for future videos are:
1) How to use color charts to get accurate color/match two different cameras
2) How to properly expose and edit LOG footage
3) Different video techniques like panning, handheld shots, doing focus pulls, zooming with zoom lenses, using prime lenses
4) Info on Histograms, Waveforms and Vectorscopes and using scopes in editing to get perfect footage
5) How to get proper white balance in camera and correcting the white balance in editing
6) Artificial lighting
7) Video editing tips like adjusting shadows/highlights, sharpening, color editing/grading, noise reduction, syncing audio etc...
8) Audio
Great tutorial .... make more of that. I love it.
Love this. Thanks guys.
We have to go DPer
go for DPer
Paulo Buencamino go deeper. Deeeeper...
Deeper pixels
Hah!
Guys, I say you put it into a poll! I vote: exposure quadrangle. It's definitionally correct, and aurally and conceptually closest to "exposure triangle." Plus, I came up with it. :)
You guys are great! It would be really great also photography tutorials!
Awesome Video guys. You really DP'd it nicely.
Thanks for the video. I learned a lot today.
OMG I love these videos so much. Very well done, I learned a lot in a short time without feeling like I was in a lecture, and it's entertaining. Keep it up.
Also I don't know if it applies to cameras enough to fit the series but I'd like to see Jordan's basic video editing workflow. Not specifics on using an editing tool, but how to keep clips organized, do you assemble the raw clips in order then apply color and audio profiles, etc.
Something simple so photographers can put together easy 3-5 video clips without looking like it was assembled by a millennial on a cellphone but also so it doesn't take 4 weeks to edit 5 mins of basic content.
Hey, Chris and Jordan! Good job on the video. I loved it. It would be great if the next video talked about how to be sure you're getting good exposure using the histogram. I struggle a little with this, never knowing for sure if my exposure is fine until I see the video on a monitor or TV. Thanks.
Great stuff - please do more like this!
Great video for me as someone who, as a photographer is looking to get into video. Thanks guys.
love these two!
Great idea and a very good 1st video. I would like to see you cover drone video as well.
