Is there a rule or are there rules where one can know when to use total, bayes or conditional probability? Because I always get confused. And how does one know if one should use bayes probability or one of the other above and not poison, binomial distribution? I always get confused

Bayes's Theorem always holds for conditional probabilities as well as the total probability formula. You can always use that. Poison and Binomial distribution are special probability measures you only use if they fit your problem.
