I absolutely love The Marx brothers!!! They don't make comedy teams like this anymore. Thanks for sharing.

The 1st Marx Brothers movie to enter the public domain. I love the Marx Brothers. My favorite film of theirs is Duck Soup. Thanks for sharing this clip.

I’m a big fan of Duck Soup too!

Brilliant! Thank you greatly! They started doing the Coconuts on stage in 1926 and it ran for three years. By filming this in 1929, they could recite the dialog in their sleep
    😊

They must have been so familiar with the script by then!

@ricknineg Yes Sir, that they were. They were shooting this movie during the day and performing on stage at night in Animal Crackers (which became their next movie released in 1930). In the why a duck scene, Groucho starts to call Chico ""Ravelli" and stops short. Ravelli was Chico's character in Animal Crackers. In the Coconuts Chico's character was Chico.

@@ricknineg The thing is, Groucho never followed the script.

One of my favorite dialogues between Groucho and Chico. They have done some classic dialogue like the "Sanity Clause" in "A night at the Opera". Classic comedy with one of my favorite comedy teams of the Marx Brothers. May Harpo, Chico, Groucho, Gummo and Zeppo continue to Rest Peacefully.

Since this movie is in the public domain recently, well... somewhat recently, I think these versions of the zany brothers were underrated
