Love Cyprus.Limassol was our favourite destination. The Poseidonia Hotel with its tree shaded gardens leading down to the warm sea, gorgeous. We had many very happy holidays there. This video starts around the Amathus area of Limassol where we always stayed. So many happy memories.I will return one day and re live those happy times.
I also spent my childhood and teen years in Limassol in the 80s to early 90s and this city holds the best memories of my life in it. I actually lost my virginity in the Kanika complex(appears at 6:55) LOL :) I am an Arab and love this city so much till western Europeans came and made everything expensive and touristy. But the Cypriots are very much like us Arabs, simple, kind, generous, and conservative with deep traditions and morals. LOVE LIMASSOL. Ice Cream, Hallomi, Yogurt, dark sand & sea.
I always tell my friends that no matter where i go, Cyprus has the best beaches i've seen in my life. I have been to the Maldives, Miami, Cancun, Thailand, South Africa, Nice, Monaco, Barcelona, and most of those places have superb beaches, but nothing beats the volcanic sands of Cyprus imo. :) BTW, its funny that i was listening to the George Dalaras song in the video days ago on youtube when he sang it live with the Israeli Orchestra which ignited my Cyprus fire and made me look for this one.
I had many chances to work at major companies and government institutions but i don't do well inside a cubicle if you know what i mean. being confined inside an office is not my cup of tea and i'd rather risk losing money to being miserable. And if it doesn't work i can work for six months to one year somewhere to regain my losses and start again. :) Its a privilege to be born in Kuwait. Got free health care, education, housing, financial support till you can make it on your own.
You come across as a sensitive & passionate man, and passionate men have to do what they are passionate about or they die inside bcoz of their sensitivity. Some people have psychological barriers that let them strive doing anything anywhere, not us. I had to go through self destructive fazes in my life to know this fact. I intentionally failed school, college, stayed home to get fired from jobs bcoz i wasn't happy in those places. But of course life's limitations can stop anyone sometimes!
Its ok, i don't have Fb either lol. And i loathe that lady gaga too. :) I got a full scholarship to finish my Bach.D in Miami, Fl. but couldn't handle being away from my family and only spent two years there. Then came back and worked in a major company with great benefits and future but quit that too. I then chose to finish my degree in Computer Engineering at home and since then opened my own business doing formats, upgrades, software/hardware installing/repair...etc. I love meeting people :)
My uncle still owns an apartment on Edgware Road and after we sold our house in Cyprus we spent our summers in London. Its a very eclectic city, but you have to have loads of money to live 3 summer months there. Being an Arsenal fan, my best times are in August when the PL starts two weeks before we leave back and i get the chance to attend a couple of games. :)
Well you know what they say about the first time, its almost always over rated. :) WOW...Megalou Alexandrou st. is very close to where we almost bought a house on Georgiou Griva st. but thought it was deep and bought one on Brussels st. instead. Waking up every morning to Demis Roussos songs, walking to the roller skating ring in the touristic area till 8 pm, then go to Luna Park till midnight is so trivial for kids these days, yet brought so much joy to us. Thelo na se feliso. Indaxi? :p
Are you a Brit from both your family's sides? If yes did you live in Cyprus for too long or just few years? and why did you have to leave back to the UK? And why couldn't you go back, open a restaurant or a bar and settle there? There so many business opportunities back in the 80s and early 90s. You seem to genuinely love that Island. Couldn't you make bows in Cyprus! :p
I haven't been to Cyprus for 20 years now. After my father died we sold the house and never got back there again. It got very expensive and the young people were getting ruder every year. We just felt uncomfortable there with many westerner men drinking all the time and causing trouble almost every time we go out. But we still have friends and the city will always hold a special place in our hearts.
I have freinds in Cyprus and ive been there You are the first country in the world to close banks for 10 days I think This is far from normal you should have left the euro and started again sticking to your strong points Holdays Now you will go through hell this is only the start Investors will not invest in Cyprus Now Do you really think im wrong I really wish you the best I would not like to be in your shoes THe Euro Is evil you must see it
Whatever imagined apocalypse you have in mind from reading news articles isn't matching up to reality. You can stop trying to impress us with your chicken littling, I have my whole family in law there including fiance and was there myself three months ago. It's a fine little city.
Thank you for taking me along for a drive in beautiful Cyprus. I will always consider it to be my second home.

Why do you have to drive on the left for fuck sake ? it's so unnatural !!
VALDIGNE you can thank the British for that:P
Is not unnatural Cyprus, Australia and Japan have the same drive position. Because of the England.
