Fantastic After watching your clip for the first time I bought a 1998 c1 zx9r. It’s the best bike I’ve ridden and I’m just 60 years old 😊 Regards Dave from Scotland
Zx9r b2, zx9rc2 and r1200gs in my garage. Newest 15 yrs old.£9k in total=years of fun and reliability. Keep the vids coming mate, really enjoy your thoughts.
That’s amazing, nothing like a fresh mot! On my part, here in Northern Norway, we’ve had 30 degrees the last week (record breaking heat). I’ve been out on my 98 9R enjoying every minute of it! People are waving and cheering on as I pass by with the lovely sound of the flat plane crank carbed screamer! Nothing like the digital spaceship monstrosities allegedly representing the pinnacle of modern motorcycling! Keep her on the road buddy! Cheers!
The deceleration fuel cut off on modern fuel injected bikes is a deal breaker for me. Riding my smooth 08 ZZR600 is heaven after being bounce around by my MT09 when I'm on and off the throttle. Looking at zx9rs but it might be too much bike without abs and traction control to save my a$$. Please keep the content coming 👊
That's the problem I have with the z900rs, it's on off on. twitchy throttle and bonces me around town when at 30mph. More open roads and it is fine. I regretted buying it at first but found I got either used to it or better at controlling the throttle but for town riding 30mph I just leave it in 3rd gear.
i also have a zx9r e1 ,had it a year now, only 18,000 miles , i love the bike smooth power and light handling , i also have a honda vtr 1000 1998 , covered only 22000 miles , the bike is also awsome bags of torque . .. enjoyed your vid mcycle24
Good evening I bought a 2002 ZX9R last autumn. I traded in my 1998 VFR 800. I commute daily to work although there have been 2 weeks this winter when it has been too icy. Edinburgh. My bike’s front brake is squeaking. Have booked it in to Two Wheels but the 1st April is the earliest Sat morning slot. You seem an expert. Can I do anything myself for the sqeak ? (I had a t reg one many years ago)
The equivalent to this bike certainly is not the Z1000sx, the successor was the Gen 1 ZX10r in 2004 after the F2 9r in '03. The ZX9r is a sports bike, not a sports tourer like the Z1000sx, not even close. I've ridden my mates Gen 1 ZX10r back to back with my ZX9r, not much difference at all, even in ergonomics. The ZX10r has a slightly higher top speed due to the extra power, and is lighter, but much the same on the road (0-60 is basically the same on paper), my 9r actually feels quicker through most of the rev range, but I have made it quicker than standard, which would still keep up.
@@mcycle24 Strange that you compared the ZX9r directly to a Z1000sx either way tbh bud. I know the ZX9r is comfortable for a sport bike, and it has (wrongly) been called a sport tourer/like a sport tourer in the media and by owners even over the years. But the style and ergo's are a long way off a sport tourer, even one fitted with Ultra low Renthal bars as my old ER6f was.
R1 1998-2003 versus any ZX9R? Zx9r is not there in low rpm and top hk Whats annoys me is stalling/strangling on low rpm, R1 comes immediately, how does zx9r stands? Try many old bikes, they seems to stall, is it manufactor/carburator thing or owner who modified with exhaust, kn fillters?
No I looked into buying one but the riding position is really uncomfortable, It’s heavier and makes less power than the 9r. So unless you specifically like the looks of the ZX7 then it’s not worth buying one.
@mcycle24 your dead right, I've had a e1 zx9 for 10 years now and just bought a zx7r p6, they are heavy and a much more racing postion feel to them, the looks was why I bought it to, all the best john.
Fantastic

You can't beat old school. 👍👍👍
Had my zx9r c1 for 14 years now and it's been fantastic. Still incredibly fast and smooth. Just turned 11,000 miles on the clock.

I agree, i much prefer bikes of 20 plus years ago than todays offerings. They weren't lacking in power then and they aren't now.
You've sold me I want one but they getting very rare now.
I will need to travel 1000miles interstate to get one that's good enough.

Appreciated thanks.

You could try cleaning the brake pads with some brake cleaner, It may have picked up some grit and stuck in the pad causing the squeak.
All true. Love my zx9r. Alu frame all the way.
Hey Bro.. I have the Firecracker Red n Ebony Black.. Had a Bjsa, R1, Gixxer, Gamma and so on..
I think the r9 is the best bike i have had.

I have owned a Z1000 and a gen 2 ZX10r in the past so I am aware of the differences.

They didn’t stall when new did they ? So it’s down to poor maintenance by owners.
You ever owned zx7r? If so whats your thought on them, cheers John.
