Bikepacking around the world | MINDMAPPING pt2

- Опубликовано: 30 авг 2023
- In August 2022 Boru set off to bikepack his way around the world, with part 1 of MindMapping covering the reasons for wanting to embark on this journey and the first few months of living nomadically. This second part now tells the story of the 7 months that followed - from the mountains in northern India to the warm seas in Borneo. If he had kept to his original timeline, Boru would have been home by this point, but with limited pressures to return apart from missing friends and family he is embracing and absorbing the culture around him, learning new languages and spending more time in a place he is falling in love with.
He is doing this to raise money and awareness for Mental Health through MIND

We can read this! This means a lot that you enjoyed the videos. Cycling really is the best for so many reasons. I’m glad you found it as a way to reset.
when will the next video drop?

That is amazing that you have found cycling! I am the same as you but from Sweden. Bicycle travel is my main goal in life now but it can not happen yet because my dog is old and can not go with me.
I would love to visit Uruguay, I have friends from work who are from there!
Boru is a hero among ultra cyclist community here in Indonesia. His attitude is gold, and his stamina left a lot of other cyclist scratching their head. We love instant cup noodle as on-the-go snack but it was Boru who showed us how to do it cyclist way, he boiled the noodle and dump it in one of his bidon. He ate the noodle while cycling. Yeahh *(scratching my head). And he ate KFC chicken and rice on the go. Yeahh *(scratching my head)
Haha love it.
this must be one of my favourite youtube video’s i’ve ever watched!! the positivity, the cinematography, the kindness, the open mindedness💆♂️and most of all seeing how you are glowing with happiness. you can be proud! can’t wait for more🤝
This series is amazing. Makes me want to stop what I’m doing and get on the bike and explore my own state
❤️
16:06 I heard "berhati hati di ruang platform" a lot in SG and I had no idea what it meant so I just imagined it as "we're happy happy you're on the platform" and it always made me chuckle lol
Thanks a lot about this amazing video series! =) I have cycled from Finland to London and now I want to cycle around the world. I just have two small children so I will have to wait 17 years. XDD
"I'd rather regret doing it than regret not doing it"
"My light broke, my bike broke, my battery died, the road was messy" But look how happy that old man is to be spraying you down with a hose lol
Amazing mate. Loving this journey that you are on how it is evolving. Looking forward to the next part of the adventure.
Thanks so much for these, so wonderful! Can‘t wait for the next one. ♥️
King Boru! again another amazing video of your incredible trip. Keep it up!

What an incredible, inspiring and damn beautiful film! I'm sure the road has its ups and downs but what a way to spend your time. Keep it up ❤🔥
I got back into riding last year, after several years off the bike. Now almost into my 30's, I regret my decisions in my early 20's to rush to settle down. I had my bike riding back then, but never embraced it for what it truly meant to me, and as a result my passion to just go for a ride quickly died out. Last year was the most I've ever enjoyed riding my bike, and this year even more so. I put it down to I'm enjoying the journey and exploring, both physically but emotionally too. Lately I've been watching a lot of endurance cycle touring style videos, but this series takes a unique perspective of the genre, one that I am enjoying following. It's not just about the riding and rushing to get somewhere as fast as possible, it's about the journey. I'm afraid as I head towards my 30's, with a young family of my own now, responsibilities towards them, that I may never get an opportunity to embark on a bike tour much beyond the city I live in, if not it may not be for a very long time. I don't regret choosing to have a family, but I do feel a sense I didn't choose to live my early 20's to the fullest, and I missed so much opportunity I had as a result. I'm hopeful that someday soon my time for an epic journey will come, and when it does this time, I'll definitely be ready to embrace it. I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you're still young, don't waste your time being something you're not, enjoy your life, look for new experiences, explore, and embrace the journey you're on. Time is precious, and you don't know what you've missed out on until it's too late.
Really appreciate this - it’s very true, we feel very privileged to be in a position to make these decisions at a young age, as you’re right it does only get harder as you get older. Enjoy the freedom of your shorter trips now and who knows what the future brings, I know people much older than you getting a second wave of freedom once their children have grown up.
Inspiring! Your pleasant personality sure helps melt the ice with strangers. Cannot be understated. Keep going and hati-hati always
Huge thanks for this amazing piece of work. The story, the footage, the edit and music; all is so wonderfully made. Can't wait for the next one!
thank you!
27:42 the phrase that ‘I would regret never doing that when I reach 30,40.’ really hits me. I got sooo inspired.
No time like the present.
Just incredible 🫶🏼
I've spent years off the bike, struggled with my health. Watching this has been so inspiring causing me to get back into cycling and improve my life and health! Safe travels and keep pedalling!

A great part 2 difficult second album. Scratch that bike touring itch good n proper. I turned around for home after a few months when I was 25. The itch never went away and may now have to include Malaysia when I go on my big ride in 2 years time 27 years later.
Very cool!

Inspiring stuff - any chance getting links to the tracks used in this ?
you can see the rough route here: www.hernehillvelodrome.com/wheres-boru
but I don’t know if the tracker is still working. Maybe best to follow along on strava…
@allroadsconsidered sorry I meant the songs used in the vid haha, maybe I should’ve been clearer. But anyways cheers for the tracker 👌 I’ve been curious to know your route
good video and a great achievement ❤ but thats NOT the correct map of india at 5:42 ❌
❤️ Thank you for pointing that out, that was a mistake. Apologies.
As you can see bike travelling and travelling moves to another place, it remove the ego. Stuff like racing to times, weight, the latest light weight stuff means nothing. One realises that the modern lives we live are failing us and it has no point.
Great video😍 Does anyone know the title of the first song? (from the start to 0:36)
the theme music was by builders tea (boxwork) under the name ‘the albion’s’
thank you very much, and again really inspiring video! @@allroadsconsidered
Hello my friend, which specialized are you using? Carbon frame or alloy? Thanks in advance 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
it’s a carbon diverge 🤌🏻
@@allroadsconsidered thankssssss, regards from a Chilean guy working in Germany, keep doing this stuff, you have inspired me with new ideas! ☺️
@@allroadsconsidered also…. How’s the mantention? You go often to the workshop in your journey? I want to do the same but I’m in a urge between choosing a carbon gravel bike or a cyclotourist bike with an aluminium or steel frame, thanks in advance ☺️
@@allroadsconsidered could you solve my doubts below my friend, please 😁😁☺️🥰
Yo. What happened to the tailfin rack?
took some damage in India… Cycling around the world isn’t easy all all the equipment!
Hati-hati kamu
❤️
is bike touring becoming cool?
Always has been
