Went to see Gary Glitter and the Glitter band at Baileys in Watford in the early 80's. Fantastic show. I remember thinking how incredibly ridiculous he looked with huge shoulder pads and four inch platform silver boots but he played a great set and the drummer was brilliant. I don't feel at all bad about listening to his music - the man, the music, two separate things in my book. This music (Glam and also Punk Rock) was a HUGE part of my teenage years and I ain't re-writing my history or pretending it never happened, it's just a crying shame he turned out to be what he is. We never hear his stuff on the radio these days, not even his mega Christmas hit which IMHO is one of the best Christmas records ever made. How long until the mood softens and we hear GG on radio once again!!

Such a shame that GG turned out to be who he is because his music catalogue won't be heard and appreciated by future generations the way it was by mine. This is my all-time favourite song of his (I still remember him performing it on TOTP) and at his concert he gave one of the most electric performances I've ever seen - not one person was sat down - beating more 'famous names' hands down. I hope someday his music overshadows him, and not vice versa.
