After reading all of your comments, I have been made aware of the fact that the state of the game currently isn’t how its intended to be. This is honestly a relief as the game is currently nowhere near the fairness nor fun as the original. I really appreciate all of you informing me of this and giving your own feedback. Please do note that what I discussed in this video is based from my own personal experience so yours might differ and it’s ok to disagree. My current issue is that SDD seems very non - beginner friendly, and is more geared towards experienced players. Thank you all for taking time to watch and I appreciate all of you 👍
Yeah I've S ranked the original Deadly Decadence but it was awful, outside of the mansion was always laggier than ever, literally like 1fps. Actually why did I say that? Anyways yeah the game's going to have a large patch including the AI of the characters and the fact that every level has monkey business requirements. Oh and also every other chapter in SDD will be completely free due to the price tag of the base game SDD
Most of the issues you talked about such as the S-rank requirements, and the buggy Agatha AI in zone 2 will be fixed in the next patch (that supposedly comes out next week). Also S-ranks are supposed to be challenging, it's a reward for mastering the level, so the difficulty is acceptable. In fact, it's possible to S-rank the first 3 levels without ANY powers and without using the map. It's also worth knowing that the difficulty will be adjusted in the upcoming patch, by adding easy and normal mode (hard mode is the default right now). As for the price, even the creator said it's not worth buying the game yet, and it's better to wait and buy the game on discount once Chapter 2 is out. You also forgot to mention all the cool details that SDD introduced, such as E note cutscenes, and the Stranger Sewers escape sequence being way better than in the original. Another thing you didn't mention is the fact that SDD is more accessible towards people with bad PC's, and it's also gonna be available on mobile for only $6. That said, I do understand and agree with some of the complaints, like the swinging traps and the boss in Deadly Decadence being random and the enemies in Stranger Sewers being random and sometimes unfair with the insta-kill . However, I do hope that you will revisit the game once the big patch comes out (or when Chapter 2 comes out) and see if you change your views on the game.
Hello, I respect that you decided to make a video on this but me and some friends decided to breakdown this video and respond with our own opinions: In the intro, you state that DD levels feel fair, and well made whilst then proceeding to state that SDD levels aren't as good as the originals and become unfair. Now, whilst this is your opinion, this is also somewhat untrue since DD levels and SDD levels are almost identical with the exception of Stranger Sewers. Alongside that, there are some small gameplay improvements that make the game feel better to play, and makes SDD better fit the pac-man style gameplay. At 1:46 you state you dislike the controls, you state you don't like how you can't hold W and freely use your abilities. Whilst this still applies to DD, despite what you said, it is a lot more common in SDD to use all four movement keys. But, despite that, this isn't a bad thing and most games use this type of control scheme and many people are used to this, and it's not difficult to use. At 2:41 you then proceed to state that you don't like how the secrets are hidden? I don't know if I misunderstood your point, but you seemed disappointed that the secrets are now hidden and aren't shown to you on the map. As for the Deadly Decadence secrets, I fully agree that there should not be shards in the secret rooms. Now, for 3:40. Whilst this can be a problem sometimes, it really just boils down to being more aware about your environment. Being able to see the level from a top-down view is insane and helps so much with making the gameplay feel more authentic. Now, at 4:17 you state you dislike the time requirement for the S-Ranks. This is actually bugged and isn't intended, but all levels are possible to S-Rank. As for the telepathy bug, it is not needed and just randomly happens. I have personally S-Ranked levels without using the bug, it is most definitely possible (I recommend trying the game after the patch). 6:11, you state how Agatha's AI in zone 2 is extremely unfair. Whilst this is true and I fully agree with you, this is actually a bug and isn't her intended behaviour. buy you're still given enough time to react despite this (evidence shown in my EE Powerless video). At 7:15 you state that it's impossible to go through the fake portals without speed boost, whilst this is technically true you can still remove them without powers by baiting them out, which I have also showcased in a video. On Deadly Decadence, your sprite is actually split in half so anything above or below you gets frozen and is considered as you looking that direction. It's not the best, but it still works really well. 8:47 You have a point with the swinging traps when they're on the left or right. Whilst we can adjust to this and get used to how they're telegraphed to the player, it is designed really poorly. Literally everything at this point (10:00) about Stranger Sewers is 100% agreeable, I can't even throw a counter argument, well explained. I don't know why I wrote this, but it was fun watching your video. Now, despite everything you dislike about the game, please re-visit the game and try it again when a patch or update releases. SDD doesn't feel better than original game... original game plays a lot better anyway, even if there will be none of the bugs, original will be better just cause it is better from it's core.
the way the characters are in the game right now is actually supposed to be a hard mode, but it got glitched and it's basically the same for every gamemode and you can't change it. They're gonna fix it in the patch that should come out soon.
A lot of glitches like characters ai being too hard/ unfair will be fixed as well as the S rank requirements in a patch coming soon, could you do a video covering it when it comes out?
Im honestly SCARED to imagine what Deadly Decadence in mobile port Will be, unlike pc theres no way to control where is your character looking and that makes gold watchers to constantly move, not to mention that they were having us waiting 1 month to play it to finally delay mobile and consoles ports ANOTHER MONTH
You do have a fair point. I do find it rather a pointless change from the original tho, as this does nothing except really screw over the new players to this game (which can be assumed to be the target audience as SDD is supposed to be a demake for people who doesn’t have access to a pc or doesn’t have a pc powerful enough to run the original dark deception). Having said so, the secret rooms now being hidden on the map and such benefits really no one except the experienced player, since the location of the secrets stays the same or similar to the original dark deception. My point is, the game in its current state is really unfair towards new players, but I hope this would change towards the future. I appreciate you for your input tho❤

So basically i feel like they should make the og s rank requierments the same in this version and make the enemy ai similar to the one in og DD and give the SDD powers the same stats as DD. I also feel like one thing that can help is making enemies reveal last the entire zone like in the 2022 SDD demo
2:57 I think GE did that because a lot of people complained saying that it was the worst Mascot Horror which it isn't until ch4 just because the story doesn't make sense and that's why they put that in to force the players to try to follow the story and also there are some animations when you read notes XD I'm not a hater.

I kid you not, I S-ranked Stranger Sewers in 9:58.20 minutes, and I would have failed if I hadn't teleported through one of the doors during the Doom Ducky escape sequence, which saved me like 3 seconds. That's right, I accidentally used a glitch exploit to save time for S-rank. It would be nicer if the doors opened just 1 second sooner, like how Doom Ducky is a phase shorter than the original game, because 10 MINUTES TO S-RANK THIS SLOW LEVEL? YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND! I also think Doom Ducky could be improved by drawing an indication line on the ground around the boss that warns you not to cross it. Agatha's boss fight could also have exclamation points appear where fake portals are going to spawn, so players can react and get out of the way before they spawn, and I believe it should be at least 2-3 phases shorter. For Deadly Decadence, swinging axes could be made larger and swing wider, so players can have better perspective of which direction he axe is swinging and also have more room to go around them.
Agree with most of this, pretty sure most problems will be fixed in the upcoming patch. I personally love the new challenge with the levels but the S Rank requirements definitely need altering a bit. Idek how i managed S rank them all under 10 mins
Funny thing is, the dark deception community is actually more active currently in the Chinese side and they are more critical about Vince and his empty promises and such. The “review bombing” on super dark deception rn is just players truthfully reviewing the game on steam. Even hardcore Chinese dark deception bilibili uploader is critical of the current super dark deception. Honestly, I just hope the developers take criticism and improve the game with them
I tried forever to get S rank in elementary evil, I thought I got it once I finally ran to the portal at the end without dying once, only for it to say I took 10 minutes and 15 seconds
to be honest they should nerf some things like the murder monkey's walkspeed, i found monkey buisness to be quite difficult i find elementary evil easier
