Saving Lives with Helicopters | Air Zermatt

New TV show "Alpha Zulu On Air” with stories behind the scenes. In this episode with pilot Daniel Aufdenblatten.
As a child, whenever Daniel Aufdenblatten heard a helicopter he pedalled behind it on his bike as fast as he could. “For me it was always clear that I wanted to be a pilot,” he recalls. Aufdenblatten is in Nepal to train local pilots when an emergency occurs. A mountaineer is in distress. Together with rescue specialist Richi Lehner, he rescues the climber at almost 7,000m. No other pilot has ever flown a rescue mission at this altitude before. His courage is honoured with the Heroism Award, the highest recognition in aviation.
The new TV series "Alpha Zulu On Air" portrays people who are passionate about Air Zermatt. With the exciting stories of Air Zermatt you get a glimpse behind the scenes and find out more about the everyday life with and around the helicopter!

Love watching helicopters in action from Washington state to beautiful Europe. I especially loved Germany 🇩🇪 and Garmisch was my favorite place. I hiked to the top of the Zugspitze in 1990. What a thrill.
