Well yea, "It'll be a cold day in hell before I go out like a fucking chump" fits in perfectly with the "I don't care about winning, I just don't want to lose" mentality
He also said in another episode “ I would do anything” and Izzy asked “ to do what?” to which he replied “ to win anything” with an incredible sense of pride and self awareness

To make the distinction meaningful I think we'd have to find a time when he's been in a scenario with a win condition, a loss condition, and a condition under which he neither wins nor loses, and see which he aimed for.
I don't remember the exact quote, but in one of the Gamechangers he put it something like this: "There is no corner of my soul that I would not sell for a couple more points."
Brennan: "I play this character of someone who's hyper competitive so people think I'm actually like that." Elaine Lee: "Hold my beer. I'm about to ruin this man's whole career."
I'll say this, watching this video and the Production behind the scenes of the newest Season of D20, And hearing them say this was their biggest season yet. I commend you. You got me, not only into D20 and the WORLD of Droupout, but you got me into DND in whole and I've been prepping a campaign for my friends. I have YOU to thank for that. You honestly deserve a lot for a lot of people. If that isn't a job as an official clip maker for dropout I'd love to at least drop you some money cause D20, and by an incredible extension You, have changed my life for the better. I totally vibe with that though. We had to do some team building exercises at work and we had to stand on one end of the room if we agreed with a certain statement and on the other if we didn't. There was a statement along the lines of "winning is more important than participating" and a lot of people went to the side that agreed. And I was like, sure I enjoy winning and I'll try to win, but I really don't care if I do.
“There is not a corner of my soul I would not turn over to the world for five points.” -Brennen “I would do anything.” “For what?” “To win anything.” -Brennen, Izzy, and Brennen respectively
If it’s a race of speed, or a measurement of strength, you know, that kind of competition, yeah, he doesn’t care. But as soon as it’s a test of intelligence...
Maybe it's more about being good at things than beating other people. Clearly he does want to win regardless of if other people are involved or not, or if it's even a competition to begin with
See, there is a difference between wanting to win and not wanting to lose. Brennan falls in the latter category. He doesn't want to lose, he doesn't want to go out a chump, he will open himself up for 5 points to avoid failing. If at the end he doesn't have the highest points, that's okay. But if he has no points? If he has failed to g3t points because he did something wrong? That is when he is upset
i half expected the clip to be Brennan "I don't particularly care about winning" Lee Mulligan: IT'LL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL WHEN I GO OUT LIKE A FUCKIN' CHUMP!
Parents are there for you when there's that one embarrassing thing you said or did as a child that didn't get stuck in the back of your head for the rest of your life
I think people misunderstood this anecdote from him mum. She wasn't describing his competitive streak at all, she was talking about his innate desire to please people that saw him get bullied pretty ruthlessly at school before she pulled him out. If it was a test, he could show his mum he was learning and she wasn't wasting her time reading with him. There's no way Elaine ever had that thought.
I swear I am the only person alive who just doesn't care for this man! Not even really sure why but I think it has something to do with hiding away TTRPG content behind a paywall, I guess since it's now Geek and Sundry doing it everyone is FINE with it now!
I mean I hate paywalls too but it's not really up to him is it? He seems like a sweetie to me. Also You shouldn't hate it for TTRPG content specifically as if they make a lesser product somehow deserving monetary compensation less than other forms of art, I just hate paywalls that don't have any alternatives, like at least CR has like a "Sign up to see it right away or wait till monday to see it for free" type thing which seems perfectly reasonable to me.
I feel like you guys are reading this wrong, pretty sure his “oh no” is about the overarching statement that has made about his mindset going all the way back to childhood
