I understand how good Makhachev is, he's the champ for a reason. However, his best is against Volk on 11 days notice, and had an incredibly close fight with Volk prior to that victory. And when he's making his opponents look like they don't belong in the octagon, we're talking about Bobby Green and Thiago Moisés...
Problem is that Poirier takes too long to get his readings. Look at Hooker, Gaethje 1, Holloway 2, he picks up pace late in the fight. But a clever fighter can put his lights out early. Johnson, Gaetje 2, even Oliveira, get him out early. Worst thing is he'll be expected Islam to go to the Floor, but he'll feint a headkick and put him down while striking.@leftrightgoodnightmma
