in korean there are commonly used english words like how for english speaking ppl mainly in america we use a lot of words from different languages like spanish, french, etc. so its basically the same with koreans as well. there have been challenges for bts to speak in ENTIRELY korean so no english at all and they usually always fail
It is the same here in the Philippines as well. There are English words that do not have a direct Filipino counterpart, so we just use the english term for it.
The same in arabic as well! We have alot of Turkish and French words that we don't even realize that they aren't arabic words sometimes

29:10 Achasan is a mountain in korea and one of the penalties from previous episode (37 and 38) was to hike the mountain lmao. 2 members got it that time (won't say in case you watch) and the members dread that penalty as you can see at 3:08. that's why at 29:10 taehyung looks resigned saying when are we going to achasan bc he thinks their team will lose hahaha. also some references and fun things you might have missed: the squirrel bowl is actually iconic lol. it's from a previous cooking episode where taehyung used it because he was in charge of plating/decoration because as i'm sure you know from this episode his cooking skills aren't too great (still better than me though lol). he named the dish "squirrel trapped in a garden". you'll find that taehyung volunteers himself to do plating a lot lol. also another fun fact: jin actually dyed his own hair purple even though he wasn't allowed to lol but jin makes his own rules. the colour didn't show up the way he wanted it bc he missed some parts but it looks so cool and everyone loved it!!
i've noticed that they use scissors quite often in korea when cooking; like cutting kimchi, bbq meat etc.
i personally only use scissors to cut pizza (i'm from sweden) and btw, i work at a hospital kitchen and we use gloves a lot, takes a lot less time and is easier on the skin
Scissors on pizza is weird but also genius! We use these stupid rollers that never work!

This just reminded me of that one episode in Bts In the Soop when Taehyung was trying to open something and he couldn't rip off the plastic so he was using his teeth. But the scissors were just beside him 😂 They use the scissors in the kitchen all the time but I feel bad for Tae coz he forgot its existence at that moment 😂

Im just here to say that in my country we dont really wash hands after touching raw meat lol. I mean isnt raw meat like washed and its food?? Why wash hands, im confused lol. Its surprising to me thats a thing in the US.

57:10 Those are called loan words! Koreans borrow English words like how we use words from other languages like “Cafe” (French)
It’s very hard for most Koreans to go a day without using English loan words. There was a game on Run BTS where they could not use English or English loan words. There’s also a video testing Koreans, asking them common questions and they have to answer with pure Korean. All of them failed since daily Korean language consists of English loan words!
Idk If anyone’s mentioned or not but Jin even owns a restaurant with his brother
And Suga's brother is a Chef...and before her mother has restaurant in Daegu...so its really make sense Jin and Suga know how to cook well...
there’s no RUN episodes w/ them drinking but there is a video called FESTA 2018 where they are drinking and talking about different topics/answering questions

26:13 Nope that’s just Americans I suppose 😅. We Asians don’t really keep washing our hands after we touch raw meat or after every time we touch raw meat (that’s too much😅) . We go ahead and chop the veggies too afterwards and then wash our hands towards the end. There isn’t really any hygiene issue here since you anyway touch the meat and everything is getting cooked along with the veggies 🤷🏼♀️ And yeah sometimes we interact with utensils used for the preparation even if we touched raw meat as the utensils will only be used to make that particular dish post which they will all get washed together. Where I am from, we often have separate utensils for vegetarian and non vegetarian food too.
I’m not from South Korea but from where I’m from, we are not that particular about washing knives/cooking tools when cooking raw meat and veggies as long as they are cooked together in one pot/dish. of course we wash our meat and veggies before cooking them and we wash our hands before touching food.
Im asian. In our country we don't wash our hands after touching a meat. We just prepare everything then put it together, then wash hands afterwards.
I think the meat thing is just in america, here where I live (Latin America) people don`t care if they touch meat and then the vegetables, its just normal

I’m from America and I was my hands after every step. That’s because our meat here is not as clean and well raised as you guys over there. It could be a cultural difference too but that’s basically why.
In India, we wash onions after peeling it cause it makes you less teary, and yeah we wash garlic too… and here we eat egg whenever we want to not just breakfast… love your reactions guys ❤️

It actually doesn't work for me . But I've never tried cutting onions without washing them first so i can't really tell
@@lela1002 yes it does, just peel it and then cut it in half, and then while washing it rub them with each other for few seconds
@@lela1002 actually if you wet a paper towel or something similar besides your onion while chopping it makes you less teary, since that onion odour is attracted to moisture hence attacking eyes just distract the odour with other moist surface
they have said that they do not have much time to cook during off time, they order takeout, takeout is a very developed business in korea, i guess they used to do it more often in the past, jin actually had kind of a food blog going on their blog in 2013-2014

There hasn't really been a drinking game but there are some fun bts drinking moments compilations! 'Moments where bts is drunk' by jiminddeok and 'Drunk bts is the best bts' by GuCCitae are both really good ones!! The first one is more recent :) They are even more chaotic and funny on alcohol, se be warned 😅
RM and V are the worst cooks lol (they are improving tho)

25:50 Here in Italy the rule is that you absolutely have to wash your hands and utensils after touching raw chicken (not raw meat in general). It's always interesting to see the differences from country to country!

I washed everything that has skin. People keep touching it so to be safe wash the skin of the fruits. And wash the he green onion because it grew in the grown not on a tree. So there's pesticide in it. So everything needs to be washed especially the chopping board and the knife.

Both Jin and Suga are great cooks, Suga and Jimin's parents own and run different kinds of Cafe's and Jin and his older brother opened up a restaruant in 2018

In my country, Philippines, we don't wash our hands after touching raw meat unless if it's sticky or something. After cleaning raw meat, slicing and all, we continue cooking, seasoning, etc. Well, for most people I know. There might be some people in our country that preferred to wash their hands after touching raw meat. :)
Also, in this episode, *they were freaking out because V was spreading the meat from the hot pan using his bare hands* . They asked him to use ladle instead.

you can watch episode 118-119 next, it's one of the best run episode and the next cooking episode is 122-123 Jin and Suga cooked in it while the others gave directions

for another cooking episode, you might enjoy the episode that was all about kimchi! It's more of a learning episode and you'll learn a lot about the different types of kimchi too lol. It's episode 35, and the episode after is them making dishes with the kimchi they made if you would like to watch them together.
51:50 wash all the fruits and veggies or any raw food that needs to be wash specially those fruits and veggies you buy in the supermarket wrap in cling wraps or in a box that are exposed and manufactured,even the ones that you picked in your yard.

You two should check out a Korean restaurant if there are any near where you live!! I'd never tried Korean food before getting into BTS, but now it's one of my favorites. I've loved every Korean dish I've tried!!
There are behind the scene to every RUN BTS. A lot of stuff you don't get to see on the regular RUN.
I love the dynamics btw Steph and Wes. When Wes is excited, Steph is calm. This epi, we saw Steph freaked out over touching the raw meat, and we saw Wes being the calm one. Such a lovely match you two. 💜

I mean, it makes sense to wash all your fruit because if you use a fruit bowl, won't they all touch? Also, with fruits you peel, your hands will have touched the outside and eventually the inside when you eat. So it's smart to wash them, peel and all. Of course, I'm biased because we also did the same in my household. My mother taught me that way.

About eggs, we eat omelet whenever we want in our country😁
And yeah we do wash onions and garlic after peeling. Ohhh slicing and smashing garlic tastes the same i believe but if u smash it, it does has an effect on the smells of the dish. It's way better to smash garlic than slicing unlike onions.
And yep, we also have kitchen scissors to cut food only.

I’m Mexican and I screamed through the whole video bc of the raw meat thing, I could physically feel my mom slapping me for not washing my hands after touching meat and for not using different cut boards, and for the washing thing we wash literally everything, oranges, onions, garlic, nopales, even the meat

When they say ‘can’t eat spicy food’ remember that it’s in Korean standard.. means, oh i can’t eat super spicy but i like kimchi/ramen and other ‘normally spicy’ food.
And 계란말이 is not an omelet… it’s supposed to use the white parts too.. and it’s a side dish. Good for all meals, really. translation is close enough but plz remember that they’re cooking Korean food so the recipe might be something that you’re not used to.

Next Run BTS reactions should be episodes 127 and 128- The lucky 777 series!! The games and concepts were suggested by the members but they ended up regretting it in the end because it was too exhausting !!!!
Another reactions could be episodes 118 and 119-BTS photo story. Those episodes also had a big twist in the end and it is actually very funny!!!

These Run reaction are the highlight of my week! Love coming home and seeing you uploaded!
In korea they have regular rice of course, that you cook in a rice cooker which they use much more often, but they also have one minute instant rice that they use sometimes when they only need one serving and have less time! You only need to heat it up in the microwave and rice is such a staple in korea so it's really convenient
I have several favorite Korean food: bibimbap(rice mixed with meat veggies snd pepper sauce), korean bbq, bulgogi (marinated beef) jiggae (stew) snd seafood pajeon (pancake). Same as what Suga’s team made except with seafood
As far as we know, they don't have a personal chef. They do a lot of food delivery. Korea has amazing food delivery services through Seoul. (Fast, convenient & delicious!). Jin & Suga are the most experience cooks but everyone has been cooking more, especially JK. I think Jimin & JHope cook the least. Can others confirm this?

1:17:53 they're not trying to neutralize the salt. the recipe called for equal salt & sugar. they messed up with no sugar and double salt, so they added more sugar later to compensate
no drinking games that we know of but on FESTA 2018 they drank together and you can absolutely tell who got really drunk.
Also, Achasan is a mountain where people usually go hiking. There has been punishments when the losers of RUN had to go to the Achasan mountain really early in the morning, and one the boys cooks for them, also having to wake up really early .
Omg you guys finally reacted to a cooking episode! Their cooking episodes are legendary, every single time it's just hilarity and chaos 😂 I've really been enjoying you guys reacting to the more crazy, competitive challenge episodes, but I think you'd really enjoy doing a few of their more low key episodes where the boys are just relaxing and doing activities together; they're really cute and fun, and the boys somehow manage to be just as funny and entertaining.
Episode 12- Police Station (this is another skit episode, it's just as funny and chaotic as the school episode)
Episode 23- Dog episode (they get to train and play with dogs, so adorable)
Episode 45- Coffee making
Episode 46- Pottery Class
Episode 99- Flower arranging (I don't know what it is about this one, but it's probably my favorite Run BTS episode)
All of their cooking episodes: 20, 35 & 36, 57 & 58, 102 & 103, 122 & 123, 125 (no Suga), and 142 (no Suga)
Favorite Korean foods are basically the ones BTS always eat during their Bon Voyage episodes. *Samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly), kimchi, lettuce, egg roll, ramen & rice. Watching them cook & eat makes me hungry every time.

If you want Korean drinking games, Seventeen’s 2020 TTT will definitely give you that. They’re like the go-to when it comes to games and bets because of the sheer amount of games they play.
If you like to watch them cooking, please do BTS in the soop. It’s a reality show that they spend a week relaxing at a remote area with beautiful scenery and cook on their own. So it will be more likely to see their cooking skills in real life.
I tend to wash the outside of everything regardless of whether I eat only the inside or not. Mainly because if you’re cutting into something like and avocado or peeling an orange with your hands or a knife, you touch the inside after you touch the outside and the germs transfer. It’s minuscule but it’s just what I was taught.

i do a lot of late night secret cooking & actually using kitchen scissors in the kitchen to cut flimsier ingredients is honestly so satisfying. it's quicker and you can get the pieces smaller.

When I was in high school and my mom was replacing her knives board I demanded scissors and she was like what's that for?
I use the scissors for cutting the meat after I cooked it and bbqs, and when I have to skin the chicken, also for some veggies chunks. It's like to make it bite sized. I have a separate one for packages.
She uses the scissors now too lol

BTS has cooked on Run BTS quite a few times always with different things happening....if you want to see the reverse of this one Episodes 122-123 Jin and Suga cook while the others give instructions....but with a couple of twists....it is pretty great. But really any Run BTS is great to watch and all the cooking ones are fun. They have done a pasta battle and made different kinds of kimchi twice and done another cooking one where they cooked against each other on two teams...so much cooking has happened and they are all lots of fun to watch.
