    I appreciate getting some insight into the nuances of the coffee importing process. All too often, we are taught (implicitly) that 'direct trade' is always good and you have given a good example of how it isn't always good. Things are very often more complex than people think.
    I understand that Fair Trade is a different thing--although still without a consistent definition--is that a better thing to look for as we consumers buy coffee?

      Thanks, I appreciate that. It's a complex situation and, unfortunately, the term "direct trade" is still kinda nebulous.

    Bom dia
    Um ano depois assistindo o video tenho uma opiniao sobre.
    Sou produtor de café no brasil e estou participando de um programa como esse mencionado, mas tem uma grande empresa unindo os dois lados "produtor e torrador" e esta sendo positivo
    Porém acho q se eu particularmente negociasse meu cafe diretemante sem nenhum atravessador teria mais lucratividade e o torrador compraria mais barato tambem
    Lembrando q sou produtor de cafe em ouro fino, estado de minas gerais , Brasil
