The best foods to lower cortisol and stress:
    1. Egg yolks
    2. Organ meats
    3. Nutritional yeast or sunflower seeds
    4. Dark leafy green vegetables
    5. Salmon and other fatty fish
    6. Probiotics and fermented foods (sauerkraut, kefir, pickles, kimchi)
    Thank you Dr Berg! 🐱👍🏿

Thank you Fidel I was having a hard time reading his board even with my contacts in 😢 so I appreciate you typing this up for us!
I sure wish Dr. Berg would answer my question I've asked more times than I can count about WHY Sauerkraut causes me to have migraines!!! Because he constantly tells us how great it is for our systems and I love it I just can't eat it because of the fact it gives me horrible migraines as does pickles...I wonder if it is because of the vinegar in them?🤔
That's the only thing I can think of and I do know I learned about the pickles from a old Neurologist and because I forgot one time he mentioned it to me that pickles were a trigger for them whoa was that a big reminder after eating 4-5 of the best tasting dill pickles I ever ate getting one of the worst migraines I've ever had I still remember that one to this day.
Gosh I'd love to reap the benefits of sauerkraut if only I could eat it again like when I was a child.
But I will bump up my eggs (sorry can't eat organ meats ew😖🤢).
      Thanks again Fidel

I eat an omelette with fatty fish, tomatoes and kale every morning and I have never felt better. No cravings or hunger until lunch at 2PM (usually a salad with meat). Then I eat a light dinner around 7pm and a glass of kefir with berries before bed. I am 55 and feel better than I ever did in my 20's and 30's.

I’m allergic to egg white so when I go to the Whole Foods salad bar I’m so happy to see a bunch of removed yolks from halved boiled eggs leftover in the bin bc so many people are only eating the white part for some reason. It’s such a convenient win win bc I’m not wasting the white and it’s already cooked for me and cut in half so I can choose the dark orange colored yolks over the pale yellow ones. I’m doubtful they’re pasture raised but at least I’m not contributing to food waste by throwing out the whites.

You won’t be doing much of any kind of food or drink when you’re fasting which is the only way anyone will get the most out of nutrient dense foods.
Once you eat them, it’s the body’s turn to process them.

I lost a lot of weight but only when I started doing extended fasting, like days up to 2 weeks of fasting and after I ate keto again half of the weight came back. I got tired of weighing every bite that crossed my lips. I was hungry all the time. After that time I started eating carnivore and did IF, like eating twice a day within a short period of time. After 4 years of eating like that, and I loved it, ate when hungry and did not measure a thing I had to have my gallbladder removed in 2021. After that I gained weight and now it's not coming off. I started adding Avocadoes, Blueberries, home made Sauerkraut and garlic to my meat after I had bad news about my eyesight from the Optometrist. I've since reversed some of the problems but I'm still waiting to see a specialist in February for my Glaucoma suspect. Otherwise, if I were not fat, I'm healthy as the Retina Specialist said to me, for my age apparently almost everybody has to take some kind of medication. At 59 I don't think I will ever lose my belly fat but as long as I don't lose my eyesight I'm OK with that now. I stopped fighting it.

Soaked chia seed does it for me. I genuinely simply feel 'happier' if I ate a lot of soaked chia. Don't eat it dry though, that leads to all kinds of problems in high amounts.

I've been concerned about cortisol and my heart rate variability so this is timely. I try to do what I can to improve my stress, and thought I was doing fairly well, but my HRV seems to confirm I'm not where I want to be. Guess I'll get my cortisol tested and eat more of these foods. I'll have to consider behavioral adjustments too, I guess, and look into how I can change my exercise.

I was taken to dinner last evening. I had a cup of fried rice, and went ahead and ate it---I've been doing keto, but having trouble with cortisol I think, like the longer I fast the higher my sugar is? In the mid 200s (yeah diabetes is not fair). The rice I had last evening had spawned a blood glucose in the 400s within two hours. It's really hard. "Healthy foods" shaft me.

Dr Berg, I am concerned because I watch your videos all the time and you always show up in my news feed. You have not been in my news feed for a while now and that doesn’t make sense. Just wondering if you know why? If there has ever been a more helpful page on RUclips, I would be surprised. I can tell you again that I take your advice so often , as I am a private caregiver, and your right do often that I don’t second guess you. Your great at explaining in a way that is understood in a short time. I don’t put my name on people often, but I recommend listening to Dr Berg. Listen to yourself too as well as your doctor, but often the doctors overlook a simple vitamin deficiency in d people . Old people are really sensitive to deficiencies which can have some serious symptoms, (again in old people.). They can bounce fast too. I mean you can fix it fast if you know that they are deficient. Potassium, and magnesium are common. Anyway, I will find you a doctor Berg either way. But you might check and see if something is limiting your channel. 😅

1:03 - “TODAY, WE ARE NOT BEING CHACED BY TIGERS…” True, but some of us who live in certain cities are being chased by criminals who want to rob, mug and/or kill us.” I was kidnapped and carjacked at gunpoint by two thugs in downtown Atlanta. They threatened to kill me during the whole ordeal. I relive the trauma frequently.
