As a long time resident of New Orleans, I never *really* believed in ghosts, until I tell you, I started seeing them. Some of them like broad daylight, some just like whispers... And I don't scare easy. I'm telling you, this place is LEGIT. Haunted. The houses, the streets, the restaurants, the warehouses, HAUNTED.
I’m from California and visited last weekend our airbnb was haunted, saw a shadow person sitting in the corner of the room then at the edge of my bed. Rushed out of there with a quickness 😂
I was a Louisiana State Special Officer in New Orleans during and after hurricane Katrina. I saw more evil both human and inhuman and supernatural entities that would terrify most. I was paired with a squad of National Guard and we even had to engage and arrest or worse actual New Orleans police officers who were committing murder. I still have nightmares and have to go to counseling to deal with what we saw and did.
David, I wasn’t there, I was in Kansas when Katrina hit. When we got home to Arkansas I saw the footage on the news and was horrified. I found out later about the young couple who were serial killers. I had friends who had lived in the 9th Ward. I still don’t know if they survived. I can’t imagine what you went through during that time. I know we got a lot of the displaced in Arkansas. I’m sure we had no real idea of the magnitude of atrocities committed against fellow human beings. Everyone has a breaking point. Everyone. I know that death is not the end. Whatever you saw was real to you. I totally believe you. I pray that counseling has helped some. Grief and horror don’t always fade with time. I am somewhat sensitive to the spirit world. I visited NOLA years after Katrina and there is a pall across the city. It’s made up of sorrow and despair. I sensed many confused spirits in the city. I hope a medium or two will help with crossing them over. There are some spirits that have been there for centuries and they seem happy to stay. I ran into pockets of heaviness in several places, not sure whether from the hurricane or what. I will pray for you, my friend. I am very sorry for your pain. Hugs from Arkansas, Brenda ❤

As an old witch and psychic, I can say that I had upon my visit in 2017 witnessed many spectacular scenes and events playing out and had many things show to me there in La all the way from Myrtles plantation(In the woods and on the grounds only) Not on the inside, to the city French quarter in Nola. I am a psychic medium of over 39 years professionally but over all through-out my life, earliest memory age two and I saw events on the door step of the allegid Sultan's residence, the front door area of the La laurie place and on the grounds of the Myrtles and much more. I had never been to where I saw more concentrated amounts of energy or spirits before, whether residual haunting, Poltergeist activity or standard classic haunting than I did in Nola even though I do regularly find it everywhere or it finds me. Many Bright Blessings Everyone!
Late to the party, as usual. My two cents on the hauntings: I visited the Battlefield at Shiloh some years back, and while I loved it (my first Civil War site) I felt like soldiers were surrounding me the whole time.
As a full-blood Cajun with a rich family history dating back to the mass exodus from France after the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, I love to drag my hunky Irish-born husband (DROGHEDA IRELAND) to Nawlins for Mardi Gras. The first trip was a genuinely startling revelation for him. Oh well. MINE was, too. The Big Easy has that effect upon folks.
At 6:31 talks about Madame LA Laurie and her husband escaping town.... I think Possibly they may have even escaped town by hiding in coffins?. I have a lot of family in Alabama and heard some Old-Timey Tales told to me by the elders when I was a child that some people back in the 1800's to early 1900's, who were on the run, sometimes tried to escape town by hiding in coffins. The coffins were laid on wood platform backs with wheels, carried away by horses. Or later Model T Trucks carrying the coffins with the living inside them trying to escape. Fascinating stories indeed! Good documentary on New Orleans haunted. Plus great comments by other people here on this video and New Orleans!!
April 10, 1934 was the day of the fire. They escaped in their carriage, up Hospital Street (now Governor Nicholls) to Lake Pontchartrain. There they left by boat, making several stops, until they reached NYC, where they set sail to Paris. They never returned. They never faced justice.
Peace Paralopedia! Did you know that Bishop Michael Washington is The Top Voodoo Priest in The United States Of America with a net worth of $60 Million in 2023? They consider him to be the male version of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau but darker😮
The story of the Mrtyls is untrue as told here. According to historical record Chloe never existed. The story of the death of the children is also untrue. The mother and one if the children did die, but the child was a son and the mother died of yellow fever. The girls both lived well into adulthood.
@@tornadoe13 it’s a matter of saint francisville record and is already proven. Just look at west Feliciana parish historical records. In fact, the ghost of the old lady they call Chloe was actually haunting the same people she supposedly poisoned. It never happened though, those people died of yellow fever. Only one murder occurred at the home and it happened on the porch and contrary to what tour guides will say the man didn’t climb to the 17th step to die in his lovers arms. He dropped dead on the porch after being shot. It’s actually pretty common knowledge that the stories from the myrtles are fabricated and exaggerated. They embellished the stories and play up the “slave” aspects to attract more paying tourists.
As a child of 11 years old my older brother and I would play hide and seek inside St. Louis cemetery no. 2. It was very creepy but we never saw any ghosts. We only scared each other. 😂
We went to New Orleans Nov 2021. This was on my bucket list and I could not wait to go and see the sites -and experience the atmosphere. I love stories of history and haunting and was looking forward to touring the cemeteries. From the moment we got to our hotel I felt uneasy the entire trip. Constantly felt like we were being watched and followed as well as had a very heavy feeling of dread. Felt anxious and had headaches the whole trip. I had never felt anything like it before or since. Was an uneasy trip and as much as I would like to, I don’t think I will go back. 😢
Yeah, you were being watched alright....by all the criminals looking to rob or murder you. Last month, there was a tourist who was shot. Someone just went up to him and shot him in the head. It's a dangerous city. It's why I now live 50 miles from that dirty and terrible place.
Lived in New Orleans until the age of ten years old. I remember every single paranormal experience. From people disappearing into thin air. Physically being attacked by unseen entities at my grandmas house mannn the city is definitely haunted
I m not surprized that it is so haunted. White rich people came there and all the slaves they had were tortured, beaten, shackled, some even slayed and desmembered. Poor souls. Poor people whose only sin was that they were slaves. Who knows how many skeletons are still under some houses. And the black magic, and all the things around it made it worse. So much evil has been let out in this world. As if people were not bad enough to begin with. Then it is not odd that evil atracts evil and bad ocurances. Then Katrina happend. And so manny people died again. So many lost lives throughout the history, so many sad souls, who never got decent funeral. Treated like trash. Voodo, santeria, witchcraft, evil people that left their bad energy. I m not surprised at all that it is haunted. May God be Mercifull on all those souls and give them peace
Good grief..not all the souls who haunt have been tortured slaves or been part of Katrina. Don’t get me started on rich White people. Black people owned slaves too! Also, there were Free Men and Women of Color. Please research the history of slavery. I beg you. More White people have been slaves in this country than Black people ever have.
I was always fascinated with New Orleans, Louisiana. The sheer rich history of it all. Been there once as a kid and loved it! I think Madame LALaurie did not go to heaven or hell but a spirit earth-bound stuck in her plantation house still haunting people and is NOT at rest. Same thing with the spirits of the slave Chloe & the family she took care of in slavery days. Not to mention countless other spirits seen by the living. I DO believe in the spirit world after one passes away! Thanks for the Fascinating upload.
You can't say where Madame LaLaurie is at I'm sure thats only a familiar spirit in her house I would hope anyway 😅 I hope that bitch went to hell after all the hell she put her slaves through
I love this video, I knew about a couple of the stories. I l love the occult, the paranormal I believe there is life after death I also think when we die we just go to another dimension, I believe some people stay there but I also believe in reincarnation and some people just come back in another place and time….. New Orleans is a very mystical place, a lot has happened throughout history everything about this city is very interesting. Keep showing these type of stories. Gracias…..
@@cu94mel, “hung” is the past tense only if you aren’t speaking about the execution, or deadly act, of hanging. You HUNG a light fixture, they HANGED the murderer. The Myrtles is very haunted. When I went there, I saw small handprints appear on a down comforter and behind the glass of a mirror. A friend felt a ghost cat brush past her ankles. We felt as if we were being watched. I was so glad when we left!
As a somewhat-local, I’ve been to most of these places. While I don’t believe in ghosts, I love the history of ghost stories and what they tell us about the past.
My GG Grandmother jumped out of the window of the Urseline Convent and ran away. She was orphaned at age 12. She hated those nuns. She met my GG Grandfather who was there from Pennsylvania visiting family in N’leans. It is a haunted place in the city and in the countryside. Had my own experience at Destrehan Plantation. An electrical type touching of my hand in the master bedroom and a large French door opened right behind my back in the main room with 20 other people as witnesses. The stunned tour guide said that had never happened before in all of the years he had worked there.
One would expect a place like New Orleans, with all its history, to be haunted, & might be predisposed to see ghosts there. However, encountering a ghost in a crowded, busy, modern office/factory-type building, where they're not expected, is rather shocking. I worked in such a place, & our resident & very recent ghost certainly kept everyone on our toes. Supposedly an electrician who'd passed away while wiring the building, he was frequently seen, electrical things would malfunction, & he was a prankster. There's definitely an energy that continues after the physical body ceases to function.
Because having babies was a very risky business back then. Older women were usually married, had health problems or couldn’t work as hard as a younger woman. They also came with kids if they had already been married. Younger women were considered healthy for child bearing, managing a household and often the other children from his first and/or second marriages.
Love New Orleans it’s my favorite city the vibe there is like non other . I live in Alexandria which is 3 hours away - but Nola is my love. The music food the history and mystical history/ culture it has its amazing and every time I go I see something else I never saw before
I lived in New Orleans for four months. I seen and felt things there that were very supernatural. I didn't wanna leave there but I had to for legal purposes involving my child
Lady Jay You gotta go! I just got back from there and we had the whole place to ourselves. It was awesome. My recommendation stay in the Judge Woodruff suite. You have access to the staircase and that’s where we experienced paranormal activity. We stayed 3 nights there. The first two nights we stayed in the Fannie Williams room and nothing happened. It’s a beautiful amazing place.
I’ll go! It’s the same here, Everyone is scary that’s I know! I have been there before, I walked the grounds and took a tour but I would still love to spend the night!
I believe in spirits, but unfortunately (or fortunately), I personally didn't see any while I was there. NOLA is a city I'd definitely ❤ to visit again.
Hopefully someone; maybe a Priest or even a Voodoo Priestess has visited the Lalaurie Mansion in order to cleanse & set those (still possibly enslaved Souls free). Its sad to hear that the Spirit of Madame Lalaurie is still there at the Mansion (along with those she tortured). That should not be exploited with "Ghost Tours."- that was a horrific crime!
All I know, is my gift not of the devil or witch faith. Yeah , our witches still haunt in portals over dying unjustly for their faith, not all where evil, some misunderstood, non melanin and Melanin alike.❤
In addition to being psychic I have also been able to view myself in a past like and experience my own death in a past life. I can also do this with other people. It's strange, but in the case of my LTR, I was struck speechless I can pretty well see that in appearance, he looks exactly like he did during WW1. In this life he was a Royal Pakace Guard. In that past life, he also is wearing an identical uniform and helmet. I can tell that even the posture. Stance , the way he hold his rifle, it is the same person. The body dies , but the spirit is energy Energy cannot be destroyed, only changed. It comes back
THATS NOT THE VOODOO QUEEN GRAVE! People are idiots and don’t even know which grave is actually her’s. They’ve been marking up some guys grave for years
You are not supposed to take pictures of the staircase but one of my sisters did when they went. The picture spooked her so she gave it to me. The stairs were leading to outside the house. Also I stayed in a home for teenagers on Royal street across from the park. Never saw anything but my sister made sure it was not a good experience for me as I hitched out of there at 10 at night. I’m going to research this topic. Really interesting video thank you for sharing ❤❤❤.
It was also common in those times for women to have babies in barely their teenage years...start having them anyways...by the time they quit a lot of them were in their 30's and 40's.
I went in Jan 2023. I didnt like it. I loved the old houses and buildings and its a beautiful city but the vibe of the entire city is way the hell off. So much so i never wanted to leave a place so quickly.

Please if I may ask What do you mean by old witch?
When my husband and I visited, we laughed at a for rent sign. It said haunted or not haunted rooms available.
I remember watching this episode as a kid. It scared the heck out of me, but man I’ve been hooked on ghost stories ever since!
Oleander is a fast-acting neurotoxin. Don't go near it, don't have it in your garden.
I just found your channel and I’m so glad I did. New sub here! Great video and looking forward to binge watching your content
Bartholomew's Day Massacre, I love to drag my hunky Irish-born husband
(DROGHEDA IRELAND) to Nawlins for Mardi Gras. The first trip was a genuinely startling revelation for him.
Oh well. MINE was, too.
The Big Easy has that effect upon folks.
😆…I bet it was for him. I have family in Metarie.
That's nuts I live an hour away from Drogheda in Swords and I was just over in New Orleans and Laffeyette visiting my Cajun friends
I loved in the House on the Bend of Bourbon St where a guy died, also it was old enough to host Jean Lafitte from 1812.
I had many encounters there

@@Zardox2 I think you meant 1834 not 1934. A hundred years later...
@@SonnyCorleone-tg1ik
Yes!
Typo.
😉
@@Zardox2 No matter what place the evil Madame LaLaurie and her husband escaped. Their horses must have had an extra giddy-up out of town! LOL
@@SonnyCorleone-tg1ik
Actually, the coachman returned with the carriage, and was attacked in the street.
Peace Paralopedia! Did you know that Bishop Michael Washington is The Top Voodoo Priest in The United States Of America with a net worth of $60 Million in 2023? They consider him to be the male version of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau but darker😮
I've always wanted to see New Orleans sounds like a great place for a visit
The story of the Mrtyls is untrue as told here. According to historical record Chloe never existed. The story of the death of the children is also untrue. The mother and one if the children did die, but the child was a son and the mother died of yellow fever. The girls both lived well into adulthood.
Prove it
@@tornadoe13 it’s a matter of saint francisville record and is already proven.
How do you know all this?
@@kellyshomemadekitchen Research. They should focus on the actual deaths on the property and not made up stories to get tourists.
@@GingerKraut so you cant prove it then?
As a child of 11 years old my older brother and I would play hide and seek inside St. Louis cemetery no. 2. It was very creepy but we never saw any ghosts. We only scared each other. 😂
I love New orleans
Wow, this is old!! From the old Haunted History show. I love the opening music! I’ve seen this many times ! I use to have it recorded on video tape!!!
My Grandmother was born and raised in New Orleans..has a very special spot in my heart even tho I've never been
It’s in your DNA and never leaves.
you ain't missing a thing. it's a dirty and crime infested place...and i say that as a native of new orleans. but i happily live 50 miles from there.
She will not go nowhere till her work is done. She will protect others good people bad humans. Thank you.
When to New Orleans back in 2020 before Covid and since then it’s been calling to me
Great videos keep them coming
Earthbound is probably right!
Gracias…..
Curtains are hung, _people are hanged!_ Why is this so difficult?
Hung is the past tense of Hang. They used it correctly.
@@cu94mel, “hung” is the past tense only if you aren’t speaking about the execution, or deadly act, of hanging. You HUNG a light fixture, they HANGED the murderer. It is “hanged” in the case of suicide, too. Basically, if it is suspension intending to cause death, the past tense is “hanged.” Hope that helps
@@julieroyce8945 wrong but you keep thinking that.
@@cu94mel, I will, because it is grammatically correct. You keep using it incorrectly anytime you’d like.
Aw, RIP Captain Mary
"Domestic servants" really?!?!?!?
Yes !! This is how they call them ! What you want to call them???? Assistants ???
My GG Grandmother jumped out of the window of the Urseline Convent and ran away. She was orphaned at age 12. She hated those nuns. She met my GG
Grandfather who was there from Pennsylvania visiting family in N’leans.
Someone PLEASE tell me WHY a father would find it acceptable to marry his TEEN daughter to a man in his 30s?!
Happened alot in the old days, even marrying cousins.
Because having babies was a very risky business back then. Older women were usually married, had health problems or couldn’t work as hard as a younger woman. They also came with kids if they had already been married. Younger women were considered healthy for child bearing, managing a household and often the other children from his first and/or second marriages.
Social norms were different
Awww Capt Mary Green was a matchmaker!!!!
I don't understand why time is precious. Can you explain why you feel that way? No disrespect intended.
Love New Orleans it’s my favorite city the vibe there is like non other . I live in Alexandria which is 3 hours away - but Nola is my love. The music food the history and mystical history/ culture it has its amazing and every time I go I see something else I never saw before
I actually grew up in Metairie but still stuff happened there to
I lived in New Orleans for four months. I seen and felt things there that were very supernatural. I didn't wanna leave there but I had to for legal purposes involving my child
I want to visit Myrtles Plantation but everyone I know is too chicken shit to check it out. I would hate to go alone. Anyone want to go?
Lady Jay
You gotta go!
I do, I do!!
I wanna go!! Lol I'm not afraid. They seem so pretty. I hate what happened at those places but they are pretty. Not scary.

That should not be exploited with "Ghost Tours."- that was a horrific crime!
thanks for uploading
the Myrtle’s is in St. Francisville about 3 hours away.
June 24th is our Quebec National holiday called ( La saint jean Batiste ) 😅 we do no voodoo tho !! 😂
All I know, is my gift not of the devil or witch faith. Yeah , our witches still haunt in portals over dying unjustly for their faith, not all where evil, some misunderstood, non melanin and Melanin alike.❤
I love this show.

Honey…N’leans is in your DNA now.

On the 3rd segment Woodrow a 35 yr old marriedba 14 yr old??? WTF?
those things were common until recently, absolutely terrible
Sadly common then, still DISTURBING and heartbreaking.
Yes, happened all the time
It was also common in those times for women to have babies in barely their teenage years...start having them anyways...by the time they quit a lot of them were in their 30's and 40's.
The thing is this stuff is real actually but close minded people won't except it. I don't just except everything a scientist says
Let’s not forget the best person to have lived on New Orleans
, Niklaus Mikaelson 😂😂😂
Lalurie, the original karen
The ghosts of New Orleans I could handle. The crime in New Orleans these days makes it uninviting.
The crime is high but keep in mind its in certain areas of N’leans. The Quarter is heavily monitored by Police.
