Still getting over Bowie's passing, then this arrives and could have come from Iggy's golden period of music - thank you so much !!!

Just read this comment. So true. It made me wonder if David had had the chance to hear Iggy's new cd before he passed away. David would have been proud of James. Two icons who had been quiet for many years both showed that they still had the stuff to show the hipster schmendricks how to write a great song one more time.

It's exactly how I feel like... How amazing that it sounds that good, out of time, hard to believe it was made in 2016, his voice is perfect and the music rocks! But so sad because Bowie is gone now, two months before it got out...

    Gardenia
    Where are you?
Black goddess in a shabby raincoat
    Where are you tonight?
    Cheap purple baby-doll dress
    A gardenia in your hair
Much taller and stronger than me
    A forbidden dream, a dream, a dream
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
    Gardenia
    Where are you, tonight?
    The streets were your home
    Now where do you roam?
    Your hourglass ass
    And your powerful back
    Your slant devil eyes
And the ditch on your spine
    Deep ass, deep ass
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
    We lay in the darkness
Then she turned the lights on
    I saw a dangerous habit
When she turned the lights on
    There's always a catch
    In the darkness when you
When you turn the lights on
    There's always a catch
Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
    Alone in the cheapo motel
    By the highway to hell
    America's greatest living poet
    Was ogling you all night
You should be wearing the finest gown
    But here you are now
    Gas, food, lodging, poverty, misery
    And gardenia
You could be burned at the stake
For all your mistakes, mistakes, mistakes
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia
    What to do tonight

    [Bridge]
    We lay in the darkness
Then she turned the lights on
    I saw a dangerous habit
When she turned the lights on
    There's always a catch
    In the darkness when you
When you turn the lights on
    There's always a catch
Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well

I wish Bowie was still alive so that every other person who listened to this wouldn't comment 'this sounds just like Bowie!'.

Am I the only one who thinks on The Smiths "How Soon Is Now"? like in the first 3 or 5 seconds. Amazing tune as always, Joshua.

    EFFORTLESS BRILLIANCE.
Hints of Bowie, and ridiculously self assured.
That chorus is so slick and smooth it almost hurts with it’s louche beauty.

There's nothing quite like a Josh Homme middle 8 and/or Chorus, we should all be grateful for his existence in these times!
And to think this guy has gone from only "being in a stoner rock" band (Kyuss) to writing (let's be honest it stinks of Homme) a wonderful song with another actual bonofide musical legend that created "Raw Power" all them years ago is somewhat ridiculous!
It sounds fresh, groovy and real (which as someone whom has lived from 1986) is a good fucking thing these days, most of all it sounds like. recording studio recording!
In short, Merci Iggy and Merci Josh Homme, please keep on keeping on!
P.S it sounds like QOTSA, Bowie, Lou Reed all at the same time, which is an intoxicatingly wonderful brew!
