阳阳是一位不满7岁的农村少年，父亲在外打工、为救落水儿童牺牲了自己的生命，母亲患风湿症瘫痪在床。母亲带领阳阳投奔舅舅，不料舅舅家也生活困苦，年幼的阳阳便成了家里的顶梁柱。穷人的孩子早当家，阳阳在老师杨青的帮助下，砍柴、挖药，一边上学，一边伺候母亲，以自己真实的孝心行动感动了所有人，在乡亲们的帮助下，阳阳终于长大成人，考上大学，带着母亲完成了学业，用自己14年的行动实践了“百善孝为先”传统美德的感人故事......

Millions of poor people suffer for centuries. This movie is reflecting suffer so real in Chinese poverty. I experienced it in my early year but not this hard. No matter how difficult life is. Nothing above the compassion and dignity of humans. The westerners are lucky but also suffer from their environment and inhuman society that obsess materials and fame as happiness. However, we are all the same if give compassion to one another. Thanks for Eng Sub.

Although this story is fictional, it reflects just one of the worse real-life circumstances where filial children, though young, must care for their disabled parents. As the film depicts, society cannot leave these burdens on the shoulders of these children. I have to praise the producers of this type of film, it's very inspiring to us all.
