If you think about it, hybrids in the real world often work this way. For example, a liger is both bigger and more powerful than either of it's parents. And because they only exist within zoo or sanctuary settings, they have less of a need to be aggressive since they aren't fighting to survive. Another example is a Pizzly, a polar bear and grizzly hybrid. They take the best attributes from both parents which ends up creating an even more successful offspring. It seems that this is also the case in the Saiyan hybrids of Universe 7.
The flip-side of that liger is the tigon which is smaller than its parents. Not quite proportionallysmall as the ligeris big but noticeably smaller. Quite odd isn't it?

I like the idea that it’s like the invincible comic. The viltramite-human hybrids are almost as naturally strong as the full blooded ones, with the human half giving them the bonus of being able to produce adrenaline. This lets them push themselves even further when they go into a rage.
When hybrids are made angry, their human side makes them feel angrier resulting in a stronger rage boost. Goku isn't a hybrid but he was raised by a human and has the heart of one as well. That's why he's usually the one who unlocks new transformations before anyone else

To be noted that, although hybrid sayians don't have the same violent nature as purebloods, they do tend to get more and more aggressive as they power up. Notice how Beast Gohan seems way colder and more bloodlusted than he normally is. Even going as far as to smile at Cell's giant ball of energy, out of sheer excitement for a strong opponent, just like a pureblood would feel.

There seems to be a common theme in manga/comics that although earthlings/humans are individually weaker than the aliens that show in earth, the genes of humans seems to enhance the pure blood’s abilities through the next Gen. DC and Invincible are known to show these themes. It’s very interesting to see how writers view humanity in the presence of “greater beings”

Humans are more in touch with their emotions, so Hybrids can access more power through rage. It also makes sense with Broly, who arguably has some mental condition like Autism. Unable to control his emotions like normal and it spirals out if control just like his power.
Exactly. Also, it’s entirely possible that hybrid Sayians have a huge secret weapon that pure blooded Sayians don’t, Adrenaline. Adrenaline makes your fear and anger brain centers go haywire. It’s entirely possible that’s one of the reasons why they can transform at such a young age.

An example of this is Ligers, but theres many more instances where this happens (eg, some large dog species). But its not a common or guaranteed trait, however, between certain species, it is pretty common. Saiyans and Humans in the DBZ universe may have this kind of compatibility.

Goten and trunks were still first generation hybrids. Pan is the only second generation hybrid at this point in time. Trunk and goten just don’t have tails because the creator forgot about them and then explained it as the tails are a recessive feature in the hybrids

i always assumed it was because saiyans learn and grow exponentially faster the younger they are. Vegeta states that the youngest saiyans are often the ones sent to conquer planets, such as when Kakarot was sent to earth as a baby. And children learn from their parents, when Gohan saw Goku transform into a super saiyan on namek, he too was later able to achieve the same ability despite not being in as precarious a situation as goku was when he first had to transform. similarly, when Goten was just a little kid, his big brother was such a master of the super saiyan technique that Goten didnt even see it as that big of a deal, being able to casually take the form because Gohan was able to so casually do so as well. and in the same vein, Gotenks was easily able to achieve super saiyan 3 after seeing Goku perform it only once, which is something Gohan was never able to do because by that point he was well past his prime and was starting to take a step back from martial arts anyway.
My theory has always been that humans have a naturally much wider emotional range than Saiyans do, which allows them to tap into the intense emotions necessary to grow by leaps and bounds, much easier. Saiyans by default seem to only really care about one's individual strength, lacking an innate care for relationships and thus lack an inclination to fight or grow for any purpose other than their own selfishness. We see in the case of Gohan that his power spikes exponentially when he is enraged, but ESPECIALLY when he has been enraged on behalf of somebody else. This isn't as much a Gohan exclusive thing as it used to be as we even see Vegeta do it in Battle of Gods. When Beerus hits Bulma, Vegeta's rage on her behalf and desire to protect his wife causes his power to skyrocket to a point that he surpasses even ssj3 Goku, which should've been a 4x gap at the bare minimum. Saiyan hybrids are just much more in tune with their emotions and thus are able to tap into deeper reserves of power and grow much quicker whenever those emotions are triggered.
I forgot Vegeta said that in the Saiyan Saga. How come later in the Cell Saga, Vegeta was in disbelief about Gohan surpassing Goku, if he was already aware of his potential, due to him being a Saiyan hybrid?
Because he thought their higher potential is still comparable to their class So goku is a low class saiyan but he trained his whole life so it's understandable that he's strong But gohan trained only for like 4,5 years so he should still be much weaker no matter if he's a hybrid or not

beast transformation should have been a manifestation of the hybrid's power if they are pushed to the brink of their anger, sort of how throughout their childhood they have rage boosts here and there and when it gets bad enough it'll manifest into the beast transformation.

It might be to do with the aging of humans and saiyans. Humans age faster than saiyans and therefore have more potential the more they age. With saiyans preserving their youth until a very old age probably means it preserves their potential power too. Like how Granolah’s life span got reduced to a few hears because he wanted the potential he would gain after aging. In Granolah’s case, he put his lifespan and potential into a few years.

There are a few reasons, but to keep it brief,hopefully: - Evolved DNA - Better emotional control - Increased potential Now, this is great and all, but without training,physical power,or mental strength,the potential of the character can be lower than expected. But the proof we got officially is how Gohan and Future Trunks were able to train and gain an increase in power in a short time.
I think it may have to do with their Human DNA giving these Hybrid Saiyans larger gaps in power that Pure Blooded Saiyans simply don’t possess. Even as powerful as they are capable of becoming, they lack the fighting drive of Pure Blooded Saiyans, so even if they could surpass them, it wouldn’t take long for the Hybrids to focus more on their own lives over the Pure Bloods never ending desire to gain further strength.

They have the best of both worlds, only their lack of the desire to train makes them more susceptible to attacks from stronger individuals who want to take advantage of them. I think it's important to note that even a pure Saiyan can have plenty of fun heroing- that's basically what Goku does. He still absolutely indulges in the natural urge to fight, he just channels it in a productive, helpful direction.
However the difference is how a hero ACTS, Goku does protect Earth but it’s mostly from the fact that it’s his home and every friend he’s ever made lives on it, however, you won’t find him actively saving the day all the time like a regular superhero that you see in regular fiction. If there’s a challenge to find, you bet your ass he’ll accept it.

I had always thought that it was because earthlings have better access to emotions. Sayans have emotions too but as weve seen they tend to be much colder than humans. Having easier acces to love and anger is probly why they were able to hit the next level easier. That and the fact that their parents and friends have trained/influenced them since birth.
Doubt that… only two saiyans has been shown to have multiple power ups in a battle (Broly and gohan). Trunks and goten I don’t think they are going for the same route. They probably give them new forms and fast development but not the rampaging boost like those two.

Humans aren’t complete weaklings. They have some potential to perform incredible feats. Krillen, Yamcha, Tien, and Roshi could blow up the moon before Z. Early Z they could reach a power level over 1000 and go higher than that if they train in weighted clothes or in high gravity. If the vast majority of the human race were to dedicate their time to pushing their limits, they wouldn’t be relative to saiyans, but definitely not a bunch of single-triple digit power levels. If they are inhanced with technology they can be stronger than Super Saiyans. Human potential plus saiyan potential equals a hybrid that can pretty much do anything if they put their minds to it.
No the real reason is that Toriyama wants to catch the new gen up with the rest of the z fighters so he gives them massive power boosts so they don’t sit out of the big fights like Yamcha does.

Goten and trunks are first gen hybreeds. They were drawn without a tail because toriyama forgot the tails. In lore reason could be they were cut off by their parents to fit in more with humans.
They are able to choose that life because pure Saiyans like Goku and Vegeta can afford them that luxury… future Trunks didn’t have that privilege because he had no one besides one-armed Gohan, so them being half saiyan has nothing to do with their less-aggressive demeanours

An example of this is Ligers, but theres many more instances where this happens (eg, some large dog species). Yeah we know the real reason is Tori just didn't like drawing them so he didn't. Would've made a lot more sense if he said something like if a tail is removed at a certain age it won't grow back or something. Vegeta's never grew back and Goku's stopped after he was 14. It'd make sense of hybrids had a younger cutoff date (no pun intended) since Gohan's stopped growing back after the saiyan arc when he was 5.

i always assumed it was because saiyans learn and grow exponentially faster the younger they are.
Vegeta states that the youngest saiyans are often the ones sent to conquer planets, such as when Kakarot was sent to earth as a baby. And children learn from their parents, when Gohan saw Goku transform into a super saiyan on namek, he too was later able to achieve the same ability despite not being in as precarious a situation as goku was when he first had to transform.
similarly, when Goten was just a little kid, his big brother was such a master of the super saiyan technique that Goten didnt even see it as that big of a deal, being able to casually take the form because Gohan was able to so casually do so as well.
and in the same vein, Gotenks was easily able to achieve super saiyan 3 after seeing Goku perform it only once, which is something Gohan was never able to do because by that point he was well past his prime and was starting to take a step back from martial arts anyway.

My theory has always been that humans have a naturally much wider emotional range than Saiyans do, which allows them to tap into the intense emotions necessary to grow by leaps and bounds, much easier.
Saiyans by default seem to only really care about one's individual strength, lacking an innate care for relationships and thus lack an inclination to fight or grow for any purpose other than their own selfishness.
We see in the case of Gohan that his power spikes exponentially when he is enraged, but ESPECIALLY when he has been enraged on behalf of somebody else.
This isn't as much a Gohan exclusive thing as it used to be as we even see Vegeta do it in Battle of Gods. When Beerus hits Bulma, Vegeta's rage on her behalf and desire to protect his wife causes his power to skyrocket to a point that he surpasses even ssj3 Goku, which should've been a 4x gap at the bare minimum.
Saiyan hybrids are just much more in tune with their emotions and thus are able to tap into deeper reserves of power and grow much quicker whenever those emotions are triggered.

beast transformation should have been a manifestation of the hybrid's power if they are pushed to the brink of their anger, sort of how throughout their childhood they have rage boosts here and there and when it gets bad enough it'll manifest into the beast transformation.
I think it kind of is, but I think its more to do with Elder Kai unlocking his potential, and this form could be an extension to the Ultimate/Mystic.

It might be to do with the aging of humans and saiyans. Humans age faster than saiyans and therefore have more potential the more they age. With saiyans preserving their youth until a very old age probably means it preserves their potential power too. Like how Granolah’s life span got reduced to a few hears because he wanted the potential he would gain after aging. In Granolah’s case, he put his lifespan and potential into a few years.

I think it may have to do with their Human DNA giving these Hybrid Saiyans larger gaps in power that Pure Blooded Saiyans simply don’t possess. Even as powerful as they are capable of becoming, they lack the fighting drive of Pure Blooded Saiyans, so even if they could surpass them, it wouldn’t take long for the Hybrids to focus more on their own lives over the Pure Bloods never ending desire to gain further strength.

That isn't always a good thing; It's not that it has improved growth rate, stress tolerance, biomass, and the fertility thing is 50/50 since most hybrids CAN'T BREED. The increased growth rate is because the DNA has no idea what the fuck is going on and growth LIMITERS get destroyed or hidden in the process. Biomass comes from that but it's not always a good thing because their organs CANNOT keep up. Stress Tolerance comes from the fact they're a living cancer
They have the best of both worlds, only their lack of the desire to train makes them more susceptible to attacks from stronger individuals who want to take advantage of them. Such as when frieza was revived and gohan could barely manage to even pull a super saiyin transformation. I think it's important to note that even a pure Saiyan can have plenty of fun heroing- that's basically what Goku does. He still absolutely indulges in the natural urge to fight, he just channels it in a productive, helpful direction.
However the difference is how a hero ACTS, Goku does protect Earth but it’s mostly from the fact that it’s his home and every friend he’s ever made lives on it, however, you won’t find him actively saving the day all the time like a regular superhero that you see in regular fiction. If there’s a challenge to find, you bet your ass he’ll accept it.

I had always thought that it was because earthlings have better access to emotions. Sayans have emotions too but as weve seen they tend to be much colder than humans. Doubt that… only two saiyans has been shown to have multiple power ups in a battle (Broly and gohan). Trunks and goten I don’t think they are going for the same route. They probably give them new forms and fast development but not the rampaging boost like those two.

Humans aren’t complete weaklings. They have some potential to perform incredible feats. Krillen, Yamcha, Tien, and Roshi could blow up the moon before Z. Early Z they could reach a power level over 1000 and go higher than that if they train in weighted clothes or in high gravity. If the vast majority of the human race were to dedicate their time to pushing their limits, they wouldn’t be relative to saiyans, but definitely not a bunch of single-triple digit power levels. If they are inhanced with technology they can be stronger than Super Saiyans. Human potential plus saiyan potential equals a hybrid that can pretty much do anything if they put their minds to it.
