a72 / a52 are quite old now at this point, it wouldn't really matter if you tripped knox. I've got an a72 and its warrenty expired so I decided to install lineage os on it, and yes it does run noticeably smoother and snappier.
prob yes, I have pixel experience installed on my galaxy a52, I did have some issues on the first day after custom romming, the issues with fingerprint sensor disappeared after a day
Lineageos 21 is out for A52, I appreciate if you look into that as well.
