Omg I'm from the US and I saw that and it hurt my head! Our political parties are emotionless petty AF sociopaths so seeing a member of a government have his feelings hurt and ask that the person take it back 🥹 I wish the US government was a parliamentary government. It's the only type of government that has petty sessions where the members can debate personal grievances against each other in a orderly manner so that they personal emotions won't disrupt the debates during the political sessions. Very important 😊
Nice comedy, indeed. You actually add nice spice to everything just by the manner in which you clarify certain issues. I can watch this 7× per day, keep up the good work ❤
@@billyork9588these are petty sessions they are very very necessary and honestly healthy! There are no politics being debated in these sessions. They have them to allow members to get out their grievances against other member or members in a orderly way so that these personal grievances don't come up and disrupt the government sessions where politics that affect you the taxpayers!
One thing about SA. Truth is truth. We stick to it and we don't mince words. At the same time we give credit and respect where it is due... We do not care about looking proper or impressing people. We live our truth, and sometimes that can be misinterpreted. But our truth is exactly what takes SA forward k
9:59 that is a beautiful moment between Jackson Mthembu and his daughter, sadly he passed away from COVID-related complications on 21 January 2021. I am sure his daughter will cherish this moment forever of how her father beamed with pride to have her there.
Absolutely hilarious. As a South African I should be crying but yhuuuuuuuuu this is literally comedy and it actually says a whole LOT about the people elected to govern us. What a headache 😂😂😂
As an outsider looking in, the biggest issue I see throughout these clips is simple refusal to abide by the strict guidelines of the parliamentary procedure. If the chair does not recognize you to take the floor to speak, then you are out of order if you do speak. The Chair seems to have authority to interrupt to address points of order, such as when MPs are claiming new allegations of criminal activity against other MPs or other Government officials (those allegations should be submitted separately and addressed in a separate hearing/committee). That being said, there seems to be a lot of speaking out of order. Additionally, when people are asked to withdraw their statements, they have 2 choices: withdraw the statement unconditionally, or leave the chambers. If they feel that they were being asked to withdraw a statement that they do not believe is against the rules, then they can follow up afterwards in a rules committee. There are processes and procedures to be followed in government, and there seems to be quite a bit of disregard towards the processes and procedures.
Our government likes hiding behind rules drafted by colonialists, rules can always be challenged in a democratic setting, government ministers are stealing our money, when they're questioned they hide behind "honorable" rules.
😂😂😂Democracy is definitely not for Africans. Our mentality is not malleable, hence the gross abuse across the continent... Leaders seem to use military tones, lol. However, SA must be the most famous parliament on the planet. Great comedy.
You're talking nonsense. South Africa is functional. There is proper infrastructure, the is a solid social security system. This is how democracy works. Freedom of speech and representatives aggressively debating. Not these governments of yours where people get arrested for insulting the leadership.
