Great review man! I really wish we see Playseat respond to this. I live in an apartment and absolutely need to be able to store the rig in a wardrobe, so the Challenge is still the only viable solution for me. All the NLR rigs are still so bulky when folded up. My Challenge is modded to all heavens, reinforced wheel plate with brackets, the pedal “tray” is lifted and angled etc, while still maintaining full fold ability. I hope that Playseat brings out a Challenge Pro with all these modifications and reinforcements out of the box.
Very Great review. Really looking into buying this thing and you said everything i need to know about this. Good content. Greetings from Germany and thank you for the amazing review 💪🏻
Thanks for the honest review, as always. I am looking for a portable solution, and I think this might be the one. I'm sure the community will come up with a heavier clip, although it would be nice if (based on feedback like yours) they started including heavier clips as you suggest. And as a 6'5" guy, it's always nice to get reviews from someone who knows the experience of contorting their body into a sim rig!
I would add to the negatives for this rig that while it is foldable, it has a much larger footprint than the Playseat Challenge when folded up. I also find that the Playseat Challenge is quicker and easier to fold up. Also theres lots of community mods for the Challenge to add features and stability, I have modded mine so the wheelplate is rock solid now as well had a shifter mount 3D printed for it.
Agreed about the footprint! I have a modded and reinforced Challenge as well, and it’s actually really great, but getting there takes a lot of interest, research, DIY etc, and not everyone’s willing to go through all that. I really do hope Playseat respond to this and come out with a Challenge Pro. Just keep the majority of the existing design and include the most popular mods, plus use the same pedal mount solution NLR uses. That would be perfect!
I have had my Playseat for years now. I never thought it would hold this long when I bought it. It has survived alot 😂 I also would like to see them do an upgradet version of it.
I'm definitely considering getting one! Looks like it's gonna be the best solution for me at the moment. I've been using a Playseat Challenge for 5 years now, with a bunch of different gear on it over the years (starting with a G29, replaced the pedals with CSL Elite LC shortly after, eventually got a CSW 2.5, and now a CSL DD 8 Nm). I've modified and reinforced it quite a bit, but it's starting to give up. I was already considering getting the GT Lite or F-GT Lite back when they announced it, due to the option of mounting the pedals. I still have no space for a permanent rig unfortunately, so I think the GT Lite Pro is my best option. (Edit: It also looks like the seat provides quite a bit more stability than that of the Playseat Challenge.)
Cracking video as usual, this looks a nice upgrade to NLR’s folding cockpits. I have the old f-gt lite still and it served me well before moving to a fixed setup. The wheelbase flex is annoying but rather than using those straps I made a set of braces from 10mm steel rod that clamp to the wheelbase mount and front seat leg. No more wobble.
I've had an FGT Lite since it was first introduced. Very good portable solution. My main complaint is how uncomfortable the seat bottom becomes after a long session. This looks like a nice upgrade to that product. My next rig will be a permanent one and not another portable. Nice review as always Mike. God bless and race on 👍😎🏁
I own the previous one, I'm happy with it. I can't place a fixed cockpit. The biggest issue I have is the noice it makes, when your driving. The seat itself flexes a lot and make an annoying noice. Does they fix that with this one? Because I'm gonna invest in an dd wheel in the future
Its able to handle my dd+ at 15nm but play around 10nm. So im good with it. Weird right? Doesnt flex more at 10 to 12nm its the ssme flex as with the 8nm.
It would be nice if manufacturers could agree on a bolt-on standard. I don’t buy a monitor stand and worry about if I can screw it in, ie it has to have the holes pre drilled for every wheel, because every mounting point is different. Does this not make sense?
I own the previous version, the GT Lite, and it held up well. I actually gave it to a friend of mine, and he ran it hard for quite a long time before returning it, and it held up really well. No reason to think this would be different
I had the original GT Lite and I hated the damn thing. It took up way too much space when folded up , it was a massive pain to unfold and fold away after use and the seat was extremely uncomfortable. I see they put a much better seat on this one but they didn't change the folding mechanism so it will still be a huge pain in the @$$ to unfold and fold.
In relation to it being difficult to get in to for big people, it could be argued so are racing cars, it adds to the realism 😄

Looks like a good deal even with a couple mods to increase the strength.

Agreed! I would think that they will release an FGT Lite Pro version soon.

dammit! I just bought one of those NLR office chairs to use with my NLR WS 2.0. I wish I would've gotten this instead. oh well. Great video, as usual.
Thanks so much!! Really appreciate the positivity. The NLR office chairs are amazing. Really comfy. I hope you’re enjoying yours
@@SimRacing604 it is pretty comfy, and yea, im really enjoying. The moveable armrests are pretty great.

I always have to remember space is limited for some sim racers. So its great companies are making foldable rigs.
I've got a used Obutto Ozone for the price of this GTLite seat, now I'm a bit envious it could do _this!_ [Folds acrobatically]
Hi what are the pros and cons of the angle of the pedals flat or at an angle? Cheers
I'm sceptical about the longevity of this thing. Even more so for a rally fan like myself.

@@SimRacing604 Good to know! Thanks for the reply.
They are bullet proof mate been running mine 5yrs now and still going strong
Would you get this over a wheelstand 2.0?
I saw the title and thought it was going to be a review of my mum ;)
Hahaha
