Game have quick save and load. They were not there at release. Game is punishing. You may lose your whole run at the mid game. But Comebacks are satisfying. "charm animal" on bears saved my run. 1 good run will handle all the learning curve.

I still feel so bad for suggesting this to you. Your frustration was palpable on stream. But for what it's worth, the periods where you were enjoying yourself were typical Muk top tier content.
I love this game. Is it sad to say that most of the criticisms come from a place of learning how the different mechanics work and how they interact with each other, of which admittedly the game could do a better job at explaining. You can also increase your army size by raising your wizard level for example, so you don't have to do quests for the towns. Also by doing quests for the other wizards you can keep them in green relationship for entire game for a regular length game, so they never attack you or your tower. After knowing how everything works its a game I keep going back to and continue to have a fantastic time with.
Mate u seem to have missed a important point as long as u dont progress the main story to certain triggerpoint u have all the time to learn and build up ur chars. Exploring and doing quest is what its the core of the game. the game is kinda unique in some ways and really enjoyable but agreed not easy to learn.
I love SpellForce franchise. Finished them all before I even got Steam, now I'm re-playing them 😊 I was very curious on how's the new CoE would turn out ...and as I would have the same issues with this title that you highlighted in the review - I have decided to skip it until they'll fix them.

For quicksave press F5. If your units trains slow - try get more slots and buildings/locations/towns which can improve unit building time.

pretty good review does not seem to have enough unique things to set it apart in a good way.
is it a "sandbox" or more like "Custom strategy" game like age of wonders 4 or civ 6 or is it just a story driven game?
Think of it like age of wonders but a single player campaign
bro you couldn't figure out different combination of like 5colors after 10hours to get higher tier units ? dude what
as a huge fan of SpellForce series, this game looks nothing like the games I loved and reminds me more of HoMM than anything else.
Considering the other games inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic lately, this seems like the worst one.
