Lydia, I listed to a few other covers of Build My Life and preferred yours. I typically don't like using a capo past the second fret, but it worked well on this song following your cover.
Thanks for the compliment, Bruce. Glad you liked my version! I like using a capo 4 or 5 because B/C is comfortable in my vocal range. Really like the tone of this guitar as well!
Thanks for posting and sharing with us, really enjoy it and very helpful. I just started to learn guitar , so it would be great if you can post your strumming pattern and lyrics . THANK YOU VERY MUCH AGIAN!
Oh my goodness....this is the first time to find you and you did AMAZING!!!! Loved the guitar & loved your voice...keep praising the Lord....AwESOME!!!
@@LydiaWalker I am looking forward to seeing them...keep it up girl....we are enjoying them!! :) (I sang and played the song you taught me yesterday on Facebook live). So I really appreciate you!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful song! Very useful tutorial, and you have a beautiful voice! Hope I can have it ready for sharing in a women conference at Church! Thanks a lot!
Hi Lydia, yes, I do play guitar. I've been playing off and on since high school...umm, over 40 years! I really only started playing seriously a couple years ago when I began serving on my church's worship team. Now, because of helpful tutorials and covers like yours, I have been growing my song library and confidence in my ability to be a worship leader. Your guitar has an awesome tone, what kind is it? (I am shopping around.)
Hi Lydia, I noticed you have a capo and when I try to play the same chords (without capo) it sounds really different. Are you playing an octave up or in another key other than G? You sound awesome!
Hey, thanks for the question! I’m in standard tuning, with the capo on the 4th fret, making the song in the key of B to sing with. That key fits my voice better than open G, but with the capo I can still use easy chords. Hope that helps!
Hi Lyida, could you please tell me the strumming pattern. I am pretty new to playing the guitar, and I can do these chords but I am really struggling with the strumming pattern. Also playing and singing makes it harder .. I suppose It just takes a lot more practice to get you your level. When I get good enough I will upload my cover version
Hey Geoffrey, I’m not sure how to describe my strumming pattern. I usually learn by ear, I listen to the strumming and practice copying it. Definitely keep up your guitar playing and you’ll get better and better at it!
+Jared Johnson hi there! I call this style of picking “broken chords”, because I’ll play the regular chord shapes, and just pick the individual strings in a rolling pattern. Hope that helps!
@@LydiaWalker Been going through my favorite worship songs. Lot of Bryan and Katie Torwalt (I See Heaven is a great acoustic song for a beginner), I love Your Presence from Jenn Johnson, Goodness of God, and many others. I always check your channel first to see if you have a version of whatever song I'm tackling.
You are the best with playing this song ❤
God bless you abundantly for the Eternity,
This is super helpful, straight forward chord charts and lovely chord voicings thanks for posting!
