  • This pattern is the creation of John Blair, a member of The Fly Tyers Club of Bella Vista, Arkansas. John likes to use products found around the house and also at arts and crafts departments of stores, such as Walmart, Hobby Lobby, etc. Like "Fishy Fullum," fly tyer extraordinaire, they have very creative minds and enjoy coming up with patterns that are interesting to tie and are productive in the streams and rivers where we fish. Try this pattern in different colors.

The Bella Vista Fly Tyers Club is pleased to sponsor fly tying classes for beginners and advanced students. Classes are held during Fall and Winter months, (Sept-Mar). A basic fly tying tool kit is sold for a very nominal fee, as well as hooks and thread.
Fly tying classes are held in front of a live audience consisting of men and women and lately, a couple of youngsters have joined their grandparents in the art of learning to tie flies.
The instructor(s) have many years experience in the art of fly tying. Endless hours are spent weekly by the devoted teachers in preparation for the classes, which are held on Mondays at 12 noon till 1 pm.
After the start of the 2018-19 tutorial season, a member of the club began video recording the weekly tutorials. A RUclips CHANNEL was published and weekly videos were then posted to the BVFT FLY TYING TUTORIALS channel. Students are now able to go to this channel and review the class lessons as needed to perfect their tying methods for each particular pattern.
These videos are for the Beginning Fly Tying Class. Another class is also conducted for the "advanced" students. The advanced class is not video recorded. (Yet).

About 4 years behind the rest of us, don’t put your name to flies, they’re not your pattterns.
