And he was the one who apparently came up with the far forward lean during 'Smooth Criminal'.
He and his performers have special shoes that lock on to a certain part of the stage that helps them lean forward, that said, he still has to get the timing down right and have the core muscles to make sure he stays stable...which he obviously did.
In SMOOTH CRIMINAL Michael and his Dancers used a ANTI-GRAVITATIONAL shoes
The lean in smooth criminal being used in dance choreography was totally used by him first, however, it was created and became famous due to a silent film actor Charlie Chaplin.

FYI...that "lean" he does in Billie Jean is done with special shoes that lock on the stage. He created and patented those shoes. Still incredible considering the ankle strength it took to do that. What an amazing entertainer.
It takes you to have control over every single muscle in your body from head to toe to rock that lean! Not only the ankles.

Only ones currently that’s that in control over the fans is probably 30 Seconds to Mars Jared Leto literally will go through a crowd of fans and they will leave a wide open path for him to walk through. It’s insane.
MJ was the best. No one has even come close. The songs, the dancing, the music videos, the stage presence, production value, iconic. Amazing career from the Jackson 5, the Jackson’s and his solo career. Flat out unparalleled.
You might think it’s crazy when they tell you how much involvement Michael had in his artistry like he choreographed most of his dance moves and all but if you think about the fat that at 25 he already had 15 years of experience it makes a whole lot of sense. His professionalism, perfectionism, and stage presence are all just second nature to him. At 30 he had 20 years of experience like????

@@elizabetha6421 It was definitely a highlight in my life. The other was seeing BTS in Vegas in April. It was at the top of my bucket list and I feel so happy and blessed that I was able to see them live.

열차바퀴 안무(? 가운데 마잭을 중심으로 좌, 우로 확산해가며 같은 동작을 따라하는 춤동작)는 진짜 넋놓고 봤었네요. 지금 봐도 멋진 안무에요. 여러 가수들, 특히 내가 사랑하는 BTS의 안무 곳곳에서도 자주 저런 패턴이 보일만큼 여전히 세련된 움직임입니다.

It's his speed and especially his precision that played a lot in his choreography as a whole. He controls his body in such a way that it is exposing the right amount of explosiveness and energy.
Apart from that, you can always tell when a beat is by MJ, they have a uniqueness to it. And ofcourse his phenomenal voice.
Not only that, but he also knows how to entertain and put on magnificent show.

MJ really took the standard of what a great performance is to the highest level. No one can really match up to how great he is on stage performing. Its also wonderful that the generation now looks up to him so this standard of great performances is maintained. For example, a lot of Kpop live performances are hella wonderful and has a close level of a great performance as MJ has. That's just one of the examples.
You should react to James Brown! That was Michaels biggest inspiration, especially when it came to dancing and stage presence. You will see a lot of similarities in Michaels footwork that he got from James Brown.

Honestly I do wish MJ was alive today. For one because he died too soon. But also, he lived a hard life where he never felt accepted and I wish he could see the love, admiration and inspiration for him that the KPOP and dance communities have for him
