    Nice one Jeff!
I appreciate you taking the time to get some footage on the winch captured.
I really love the tongs on the car winch cable!
Might be worth you getting a skidding cone to help get the logs over obstacles.
Love the channel keep uo the hard work 💪

Skidding cone would be great, I wonder how they last around rocks and stumps and such?

Awesome channel glad I found it! As soon as I saw all the dirt and mud on the logs in the trailer I was about to comment then you answered my question lol i’m sure washing the logs right away with the pressure washer Before the mud dries on is probably ideal. How often do you have to sharpen your bandsaw blades? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this done on a bandsaw mill but I would think you’d be able to make some kinda removable bracket or jig for a sharpener that sharpens the blade while it’s still on The sawmill. Another channel I’m subscribed to he made a sharpener out of a old 12v windshield wiper motor for his circular saw type sawmill was pretty neat.

Thanks for watching, depending on how dirty, or frozen or even the species of the wood, some days I can mill all day on the same blade, other days I go through 4 or 5. I have a sharpener, is a Range Road unit, it works great. I wait till I have a dozen or so to sharpen, then make it a rainy day project. A blade change on my mill takes about a minute. I have a few dozen ready to go all the time. Thanks again for watching! All the best, Jeff

Thanks for the video! Subscribed. Would like to see a video on that winch if you get a chance. Can't find a lot of info on it.

I’m hoping to have more time in the woods before winter settles in. It’s a great winch, I use it both in the woods and around my mill for moving logs. It’s plenty strong.

We're buying a 3025E and want to get one of these winches to use. Can you tell me which hydraulic kit you had installed for this to work on? Would greatly appreciate it! Also would love to see more footage of the winch in use if you can ever manage it. Thanks.

No extra kit, just the factory power beyond that come on the tractor. Plenty of power. It’s a great winch.
Thanks for watching! All the best, Jeff

Hey Jeff. Wondering if you still feel strong about this winch after some use. I'm looking into getting one perhaps. Did you experience excessive rope wear and tear? Also how much of an issue has it been trying to work it in wet conditions? I like the rear forks functionality, have you tried it for carrying logs? I'm thinking that my little BX23S might be able to lift more on the rear forks than the front forks. Thanks! Nova Scotia Strong!

Hi Chip, the more I use it, the better I like it. I notice no wear on the rope at all. It’s now filthy dirty with mud and forest floor debris- but still works as good now as ever. I do use the ‘forks’ to help pile some logs when I don’t have my loader on, it’s functional, but not ideal. Still a great tool for the price.
Thanks for watching, all the best, Jeff.

@@thelogfather5002 @The Log Father I'm in the valley, near Berwick. Do you know any good sources for logs that could deliver in smaller trucks? Thanks!

@@ciabra I bought logs from a fellow in Queens county, but getting them trucked is next to impossible. Procuring wood is the hardest part of my little business. I buy hardwood in 8’ or 16’ lengths- about 125 cords a year. That’s just enough volume to be a nuisance for most truckers. My soft wood logs I buy from a fellow inland from Bridgewater, and I pick them up myself with my Ram and dump trailer or if they’re long- my car trailer. I have a loader with a grapple so I can handle them on this end.
It’s a tough nut to crack!
I’ve got almost 100 acres of woodland and cut some of my own wood- but not nearly enough to feed my processor or my mill.
