MY CROSS CANADA TRIP IS OVER!
What an amazing country I live in. Almost 13000 kilometres in 2 1/2 weeks. I got to the International Firewood Expo- my favourite daughters house in Edmonton, my uncles house in Salmon Arm, I caught my limit of rainbow trout and spent hours and hours alone with my own thoughts planning the next steps for my life and my business.
Thanks for following me as I ramble- and I’ll be back to making the videos shortly that you’ve been so patiently waiting for.
Thanks again! Jeff

SAWMILL AND FIREWOOD PROCESSOR MECA! RANGE ROAD HQ tour.

I added a stop to my cross Canada tour to the Range Road low impact forestry equipment head quarters. Jonah was a very gracious host- answered all of my questions and let me tour their facilities to my hearts content. They’re the real deal- they’ve got WAY more inventory than I have ever imagined! It’s so great to know they’ve built a great business- right here in Canada! I personally ie their ...

Ive seen those processors at the Eugene, Oregon logging show. They use reject power line posts at the show. so nice to see it run with real logs. Plus the sales people have modest experience running their equipment. . Just with an average size of around 26" for firewood, it just doesn't work right. Would work on red alder trees. as there much smaller than the fir trees. mabe a 18" average, for them. . But like you, anything of any quality. goes on are mobile dimension sawmill. A hole different animal from a band mill.

Those mountains are beautiful. I hate driving across the great plains and am always happy when I see the mountains. I have always wanted to live out there but, Life is what happens, while I am making other plans. My children and grandchildren were raised in Ohio. I would like to live in Montana or Wyoming, but my wife isn't going that far from our grandchildren. I am always awed by the west. Glad you trip went well and your outfit worked out for you.

You have that right. We drove to the West coast a couple of times from Manitoba on the Canadian side, but with the cheaper gas, we tried the trip via I-94 through Montana, Idaho and Washington. Big sky Montana lives up to its name. The landscape starts rolling arounf Glendive, and we started to see snow capped mountains before getting to Billings. We saw them on and off for hours. What a beautiful drive along the Yellowstone River and beyond past Bozeman, Butte Missoula, where the valley gets narrower toward the Lookout pass. In late spring you can see newborn calves on the many cow-calf operations along the freeway.
