Before I watched this video, I played on audio and then when I watched it (good thing I was on mobile that it has English captions in the lyrics), I cannot stop playing. The piano was like in harmony but the lyrics broke my heart. Then when I kept playing several times, I just got tear up and cry. I felt like I just want someone hold on and I also want to hold his hand. I don't even know that when I was in the mood of EXO or Baymax until now. Why is Yongguk in shadow the entire time? Because all these years, all everyone really cared about was appearances. It's the nature of Kpop, everything being carefully manufactured, down to the last word, the last thread on his body. Few were allowed to see who Yongguk really was; in fact, Yongguk wasn't allowed to be himself. This, is his answer. Look beyond what the eyes can see, so you can focus on what your ears hear, what your heart feels. All his emotions are spilling out now, flooding, raw, letting us know what he really went through. Yongguk isn't sorry for being himself. He's smart - he wanted out, and he took his dongsaengs with him before it was too late. Though I do feel a twinge, because but only tor Yongguk choosing to go down the road of fame, I wouldn't have known of his intellect or artistry.
There are idols we admire for very superficial reasons; some are handsome, have a melodic voice or a great stage perfomance. But this guy... This guy speaks through music, his soul can be felt everytime he composes a song. I "met" Bang YongGuk when B.A.P debuted and at first my impressions were superficial, "oh, what a sexy powerful voice". But as I kept listening, I realized I had the wrong idea of him (and B.A.P too). Bang Yong Guk doesn't think music is just a way to earn money, he doesn't make music to just entertain people. He uses parts of him to make music, it's as if every song carries a bit of his experiences throughout life. He's not one of those usual shallow artists that media sells. He's a deep person that struggles and fight to live. And that's why I admire this guy so much. Never give up, leader. Never. I am in the other side of the globe, but your voice was able to reach me. That's how powerful you are. Be strong.

I hate how stepped on this song is. Yongukk is such an amazing lyricist and rapper, and you can tell this song is his raw and uncut feelings. The lyrics in this are beautiful, and as someone with depression, it really hit hard. It deserves a lot more attention. Especially for what he's saying about companies. This is exactly why I'm nervous about B.A.P signing on with TS again; as much as I'll be happy they're back, the way they treated them will never be forgiven and I'm worried that it'll happen again.
I fear the same thing. But I hope they have a new and better contract this time and the history won't repeat itself. I hope we can get several songs like this one in future. Honest and raw.

What's this about, with the company and all that? I only got here just now from a list of Kpop songs talking about mental illness and I don't know much about BYG and his group.
foreverVanney BAP filed a lawsuit against their company (TS ent) because they were barely ever given a rest, overworked to the point of being admitted to the hospital, and then the company forced daehyun (our main vocal) out of the hospital so he could perform. The members weren't even allowed to contact their families. BAP were also paid practically nothing (i'm not talking nothing to a celebrity; i mean not even minimum wage) and they had to pay for every expense (including their hospital fees) while the company made millions off their hard work and popularity at the time. And of course the company denied everything when the lawsuit was filed. After a year + of being on hiatus, bap finally re-signed with ts (i think they were just sick of all the postponing court dates and ts dragging everything out and everything being so uncertain...ts might not be sm, but they're literally 6 average families suing a company that has millions, have paid people off to shut their mouths, as yongguk's lyrics say, and have connections). Things now are better but not good...the members still occasionally drop hints to the fans about things the company isn't letting them do/doing without telling them, and with their history fans are paying more attention to anything suspicious - daehyun's musical suddenly being canceled; yet another concert/world tour being announced (big $$$ opportunity for the company)...we love seeing them, but it's a lot of work and hard on them to be constantly traveling and performing around the world. They also miss out on fame opportunities in korea like musicals and dramas that want to cast them. that's the "short" version lol... look up *bap lawsuit* and you will find a lot more.

Honestly I don't know how they do it, I'd have broken down for less. It's things like this that make me really sad about the industry - I read about similar issues with sm and stardom entertainment. And to think that people like that benefit from the support for the people that they treat like shit is kinda sickening.
I don't like how people treat this like it was just a "depressing" or "sad" song. He threw his heart down into this, and you can tell he was in a lot of pain. Stop saying things like "he should collab with xxx since he's good at writing sad things". This could have been an extremely serious issue - depression is a real and very serious danger, especially when you're being mistreated - and I hope that he is doing better now and that he is prepared for what will happen if he goes back. Also, I still cry every time I hear this song. It's absolutely fantastic. At least out of his pain came something inspiring and beautiful.

Wow...those lyrics and emotions just got to me. BYG is just amazing in what ever he does..his music and how he loves donating to other people, especially children. He's and inspiration to me and I love how creatively artistic he is. He's a true musician. I miss B.A.P so much and I know Babys do too. This song made me appreciate Bang Yongguk's talent in a way I never could with BAP. Not that BAP's songs are bad (obviously I love them) but they had to be radio/crowd friendly. Everyone in BAP is INSANELY talented but we'll never see their full potential because of it. And it's not just TS Ent doing it - Minzy left 2NE1 because she was a friggen genius at dancing/singing but they would rather concentrate on giving CL a single than a chance for her to show off all her skills because she wasn't marketable. Like Yongguk mentioned in the song, the adults tossed his lyrics aside like trash because it's not good for profit. He tried to grow with BADMAN but because the reception wasn't good, TS Ent made BAP do a more mainstream friendly song like 1004. I liked 1004 but it definitely did not feel like BAP's heart was in it, like they were doing it just for success and money. On top of that, this song showed how much Yongguk, the person who can't stand injustice, held his feelings in for the sake of his BAP members. In Asian culture, the number 4 is considered VERY unlucky and means "death" so it drives even deeper his depression and self loathing and anger. But even at the very end, he thinks of his fans and tries to assure them that everything will be ok. He won't kill himself if only for the sake of everyone else. I can't help but be worried that Yongguk returned to TS Ent for the sake of BAP. He was never one for fame and he probably would be fine going back to being an underground rapper but he knew his dongsaengs would be devastated. He knows just how loyal they are to him and he couldn't sacrifice their dreams for his sake. All I can say is, if TS Ent screws with BAP again, the fury they saw from BABYZ during the lawsuit will be nothing compared to what they'll see from us this time around.
Hi. I've been out of the loop for about 2 years. Care to explain what happened with B.A.P and their company? Bang Yong Guk is one of my two very favourite korean artists (the other one being Zion. T) and this song made me realize he just wants to do his thing, his music, and will most likely end up doing so. And I'll be happy for him. He's a great person. Most people tend to forget idols are adults too and have their own tastes. But this is industry managed so... yeah. It's work for him and a way to keep making music so he keeps on going. But I see how frustrated he is. If only they would let him create more... man, the albums would go from amazing to fucking legend. Ah~
+Jannathejoker basically, TS ent. worked b.a.p too hard and didn't give them enough room to express themselves as artists. they rejected songs yongguk wrote bc they deemed it too dark and not as profitable as pop songs. they also forced b.a.p to do several comebacks each year, didn't take into consideration their music styles, gave each member only about $16,000 for 3 years that they were idols, and disrespected the parents after an attempt for an intervention/negotiation. officially, they were sued for slave contracts and unfair profit distribution. this happened in November 2014 I believe. in August 2015, b.a.p and TS came to an agreement/compromise and dropped the lawsuit, continuing with the contract on the condition that they're treated better and that the members are allowed a larger role in the production/composition of the music they put out. let's just hope that TS is following through with their end of the deal after dragging b.a.p to hell and back with the unfair treatment and legal battle.
Personally, if I were them, I will go into independent label and work things out from there, since they have great supporters from BABYZ, example Jay Park (ex. 2PM). Furthermore they can be more successful than now, just need you all to support or why not Yongguk do it as the "side project" instead. Post it in RUclips or Ipod music and see how much download or see he could get. And if still the company choose to be arrogant about the statics, then that when the BABYZ can voice out. I do not know much about Kpop thing and the process, so I not sure what will the effect. I am more into Jrock so I know the struggle they first started, bitter sweet success, many of these successful band started from independent label. Its take alot of hard work and dedication which BAP already has it. Leap the faith and I believe they will success. I have see it before and I dare to comment it.

It breaks my heart to learn he's been suffering from panic disorder. I know that everything that he does puts pressure on himself, but I didn't realize how much pressure and stress. It must be scary having panic attacks, not knowing what's going on all of a sudden. Bang Yongguk is my role model. I almost started crying when I heard the news. I'm not upset that he won't be promoting. I'm RELIEVED he won't be promoting. He will get the proper treatment he needs, and not have to worry about practicing or not getting the sleep he needs. to a person that I always looks up to, Bang Yongguk.. I always feel depress, I try so hard not to show it to people around me, doesn't matter people I know in real life or online.. I always seen as someone who have a good life since I always laugh and seems like someone with no worries where in reality I hide it deep in my heart. whenever I listen to this song, I burst into tears. living with mom, my dad ignored us for almost 10 years. now that I've start working, every responsible has passed to my shoulder. my brothers doesn't seems to care, I basically pay everything for my house. work life isn't any better, hypocritical, office politics, backstabber, selfish person are everywhere. there's one time I feel like giving up, but I know I can't, I still have to look after my mom. I still have dream to catch on. this song is almost the same as what I've always wanted to say but I just couldn't utter it to anyone. This man is a genius. The world needs raw artists like these, that don't foam at the mouth when they are offered fame. Yongguk doesn't demand respect from anyone, yet many Babys and people who don't even know BAP give it to him because he is just that good. He's not one to beat around the bush. He's not one to play cat and mouse. The video, however simple, was very powerful. The black silhouette (my interpretation) being Yongguk's shadow in a empty world. No individuality, just a white background and thus conformity, parading as purity ridiculing Yongguk and other "outcasts" yet itself hiding behind the blinds of "good, purity and justice". A black sheep among the flock, an outsider among the crowd. This is why I respect this man so much. I don't even have to touch on his lyrics because they speak volumes on their own. If you see this Yongguk, know that as a recent fan, I believe you are one of the most talented and brilliant artists I have ever come across. Keep doing what you love, and the fans will come. Finally, I have the courage to post for this work of art...Yes I looked up the English translation after seeing the video. My heart broke into tons of new ways. His voice is so raw I knew the song was deep before reading the translation. Bang Yongguk is, has always been the real deal indisputably a legit lyricist/Rapper. Try and challenge that and you are a buffoon lacking reason. This song is very much who he really is. Deep, emotional, raw, open, utterly devastating yet totally empowering and uplifting. They took control and power from him yet he is saying F**K you I am taking it all back! (sorry) I said it before will say it over and over again, he is a quiet man but when he graces us with a little glimpse into his soul it is Mind Blowing. Some people may not grasp it but that's the beauty of it. He talks about what he's lost but also that there is beauty in tragedy because he will get back on track to where he needs to be, to be alright. From the ashes rises the Phoenix. I have been going through difficult times but slowly things are changing and I understand Bang's feeling a little. This song is precious oxygen and I think Bang needed to release this not only for himself but for us Babyz and fans too. They, B.A.P, have had to walk a very fine line. i just love this song so much. yes, the meaning is very poignant and the subject matter is quite upsetting but when you can relate to it, it means so, so much and hits home much harder. this song means so much to me. yongguk means so much to me. i think it's a very beautiful thing when you're reminded that even idols, celebrities, these people we hold to such high esteem are still people like us; their struggles are the same, their emotions are the same, we are all still the same. yongguk is an artist, nothing less, and his mind is so beautiful. the lyrics of yamazaki actually reflect the lyrics of this song but in a more 'devil-may-care' way, like he's finally learned to deal with how he's feeling and overcome them, and can now even mock them, in a way. but he never forgets where he came from, and i love that so much. i'm so glad to see him grow as an artist, as a musician, as a performer, as a person. i have nothing but respect for him and will be listening to his music for a loooong time.

I love the lyrics to this so, so, so much. He's basically throwing it out there that he wants more than what TS was giving, he wants to make music that is his own; and his own music is something from the heart that has meaning. But B.A.P has always been very honest, especially with First Sensibility and them announcing that it was made because they needed to target a larger audience. However, I see, and I'm sure many others can tell as well, that BYG has bigger concerns that that of fame. He has empathy towards the world and seeks change. When so many famous people do good deeds, they make it charity, but BYG has this intangible way of standing side by side with those in need rather than just dropping in and saying "I'm famous so hi, have I changed your world yet?". He wants to disregard those that sit with "fat bellies", a symbol usually used for the greed for money and prosperity, and tell the world what he wants them to hear rather than the idiocy that people call "writing" these days, writing that has no meaning nor purpose, writing with empty words. After researching about the mention to his grandfather, the song just became that much more personal. BYG is one of those world changers that dig beneath your skin, telling you straight up what he wants you to know. He puts in his personal experiences because, as many know, that is sometimes the only way to get people to connect. I've read that the watch at the beginning is his grandfather's and it just ties everything into such a impactfully depressive circle. I also am obsessed with the music video and the instrumental. Yes, repetitive. Yes, minimalistic. Yes, non-traditional within the k-pop grounds. But it just shows so much; there is so much to be interpreted. Perhaps he feels his true self is hidden in the lights of fame, where he can not write lyrics based on his heart and talent. And the flashes of light in the darkness showing the actual BYG could be showing that we can only see glimpses of him through the darkness, the shrouded lies of media. The record shaped as a heart could symbolize his passion for music, something he holds on to. Not to mention the eerie piano that just makes me shiver. All in all, the music video combined with the music and BYG's voice, it has a powerful impact. Even without knowing the translation, it's so obvious he is rapping about something he is passionate about. It's even more obvious that it is a serious and unrelentingly heart-wrenching topic to him. I can't imagine the music we would be listening to if he had complete freedom with writing. He could be, he is, changing the world, impacting it even more that he already has. Honestly, I want to just pick at every detail as an aspiring English major but I feel like this is long enough. ;;

I wonder why I missed out the release of this song back then, I became a baby in 2014 slightly before their lawsuit and never left ever since. In recent years I’ve been struggling with mental health, and today I came to listen to this song and it made me cry 😭 it also reminded me of how much pain B.A.P members had to go through.. Hearing this song and understanding the lyrics were so heartbreaking. You can really feel BYG feelings here 💔 but I’m glad that they have come back recently and they all looked so happy on stage ✨ I can’t be there physically but watching all the videos on TikTok alrdy made my hearts full. The expressions on their faces while they enjoyed the stage with the presence of fans whom they love and loves them, are so priceless ❤️
I thought about the line “my fans hold my two hands” a lot. This is my first time watching it, and I realized that the reason I stay close to way too many people, and when I meet new people I tell them everything about me in an effort to relate to them, is because I want to be there for them. A couple years ago, depression hit me and I fell, hard. Everybody, yet nobody was there, for a year. I never told anyone, I did not want to burden people. And then, I told somebody, an outpouring of emotions, anger and sadness. They were an internet friend, we weren’t even that close but it lifted such a huge weight off my chest. I was still depressed, but not as low as before. I then discovered kpop, or BTS in particular and heard RM’s solos, and it boosted me out of depression. I was so happy, but it left scars and I occasionally relapsed. I did not want this to happen to anyone, ever, and I gained the trust of many friends, hoping they’d confide in me incase anything ever happened to them. Thank you Bang Yongguk oppa (he’s older than me, so gotta keep the honorifics!) for making me realize this.

When I first saw this vid, two things struck me. First, the vid looked like it was made on a $5 budget. It was incredibly simple - B&W, only one person in the whole vid, minimal SFX, minimal set design. It could well have been made at home with a personal camera and Sony Vegas. Once again, incredibly simple and the total opposite of fancy/entertaining/vibrant/catchy, etc. Second, it looked and felt like a true work of art. It was more art than any B.A.P vid I've ever seen, and it was so incredibly emotional, all those little details andf facial movements that say so much and are so much more noticeable in black n white than in color. I know that Bbang is a fan of B&W. I love it too, because when the image is devoid of all colors but black and white, the tones and shades become so much more expressive. It's as if by stripping the image of color, B&W shows its true colors, its inner character. Here, we see a silhouette stripped even of facial features - a man full of darkness in the bright, empty world. We see the dark place that Bbang was in when he wrote this song - a piece of an actual bedroom, and a perfect metaphor to Bbang's psychological state. It's all so expressive, and it all works perfectly to express the thoughts and feelings that Bbang put into this song. And the absolute, utter simplicity - it's so... beautiful. In my honest personal opinion, the best kind of beauty to me is simple, naked beauty without any frills and bling; that which the Japanese call 'wabi-sabi'. This kind of beauty is the most real one, because it comes from the inside, not from the outside. That's what I thought when I saw the vid for the first time, when I haven't read the lyrics. I love all of B.A.P vids, and I love love love their music - it really stands out on the Kpop market, it's beautiful and powerful, and the lyrics are great, and the rappers/singers are amazeballs, - but this vid is definitely more powerful and striking to me. I really respect Bbang and Rotta for achieving so much with so little. I honestly believe that a budget of a gazillion bucks couldn't make this vid any better, because it's already perfect. Well, that was before I read the translated lyrics. I finally read them today after the sad news, and then I was, like. DAMN SON, I KNEW YOU WERE GOOD, BUT I COULDN'T EVEN IMAGINE YOU WERE *THIS* GOOD. Bang Yongguk, ladies and gentlemen, is a true artist. I hope he finds his way and stays healthy and happy. Before I watched this video, I played on audio and then when I watched it (good thing I was on mobile that it has English captions in the lyrics), I cannot stop playing. Why is Yongguk in shadow the entire time?
Because all these years, all everyone really cared about was appearances. It's the nature of Kpop, everything being carefully manufactured, down to the last word, the last thread on his body. Few were allowed to see who Yongguk really was; in fact, Yongguk wasn't allowed to be himself.
This, is his answer. Look beyond what the eyes can see, so you can focus on what your ears hear, what your heart feels. All his emotions are spilling out now, flooding, raw, letting us know what he really went through.
Yongguk isn't sorry for being himself. He's smart - he wanted out, and he took his dongsaengs with him before it was too late. Though I do feel a twinge, because but only tor Yongguk choosing to go down the road of fame, I wouldn't have known of his intellect or artistry.

There are idols we admire for very superficial reasons; some are handsome, have a melodic voice or a great stage perfomance. But this guy... This guy speaks through music, his soul can be felt everytime he composes a song. I "met" Bang YongGuk when B.A.P debuted and at first my impressions were superficial, "oh, what a sexy powerful voice". But as I kept listening, I realized I had the wrong idea of him (and B.A.P too). Bang Yong Guk doesn't think music is just a way to earn money, he doesn't make music to just entertain people. He uses parts of him to make music, it's as if every song carries a bit of his experiences throughout life. He's not one of those usual shallow artists that media sells. He's a deep person that struggles and fight to live. And that's why I admire this guy so much. Never give up, leader. Never. I am in the other side of the globe, but your voice was able to reach me. That's how powerful you are. Be strong.

I hate how stepped on this song is. Yongukk is such an amazing lyricist and rapper, and you can tell this song is his raw and uncut feelings. The lyrics in this are beautiful, and as someone with depression, it really hit hard. It deserves a lot more attention. Especially for what he's saying about companies.

What's this about, with the company and all that? I only got here just now from a list of Kpop songs talking about mental illness and I don't know much about BYG and his group.
foreverVanney BAP filed a lawsuit against their company (TS ent) because they were barely ever given a rest, overworked to the point of being admitted to the hospital, and then the company forced daehyun (our main vocal) out of the hospital so he could perform. The members weren't even allowed to contact their families. BAP were also paid practically nothing (i'm not talking nothing to a celebrity; i mean not even minimum wage) and they had to pay for every expense (including their hospital fees) while the company made millions off their hard work and popularity at the time. And of course the company denied everything when the lawsuit was filed.
After a year + of being on hiatus, bap finally re-signed with ts (i think they were just sick of all the postponing court dates and ts dragging everything out and everything being so uncertain...ts might not be sm, but they're literally 6 average families suing a company that has millions, have paid people off to shut their mouths, as yongguk's lyrics say, and have connections). Things now are better but not good...the members still occasionally drop hints to the fans about things the company isn't letting them do/doing without telling them, and with their history fans are paying more attention to anything suspicious - daehyun's musical suddenly being canceled; yet another concert/world tour being announced (big $$$ opportunity for the company)...we love seeing them, but it's a lot of work and hard on them to be constantly traveling and performing around the world. They also miss out on fame opportunities in korea like musicals and dramas that want to cast them.

thank you for taking the time to write all that out for me! It sounds awful, to think that they went through all that and partially still do... Honestly I don't know how they do it, I'd have broken down for less. It's things like this that make me really sad about the industry - I read about similar issues with sm and stardom entertainment. And to think that people like that benefit from the support for the people that they treat like shit is kinda sickening.
I don't like how people treat this like it was just a "depressing" or "sad" song. He threw his heart down into this, and you can tell he was in a lot of pain. Stop saying things like "he should collab with xxx since he's good at writing sad things". This could have been an extremely serious issue - depression is a real and very serious danger, especially when you're being mistreated - and I hope that he is doing better now and that he is prepared for what will happen if he goes back.
Also, I still cry every time I hear this song. It's absolutely fantastic. At least out of his pain came something inspiring and beautiful.

This song made me appreciate Bang Yongguk's talent in a way I never could with BAP. Not that BAP's songs are bad (obviously I love them) but they had to be radio/crowd friendly. Everyone in BAP is INSANELY talented but we'll never see their full potential because of it. And it's not just TS Ent doing it - Minzy left 2NE1 because she was a friggen genius at dancing/singing but they would rather concentrate on giving CL a single than a chance for her to show off all her skills because she wasn't marketable.
Like Yongguk mentioned in the song, the adults tossed his lyrics aside like trash because it's not good for profit. He tried to grow with BADMAN but because the reception wasn't good, TS Ent made BAP do a more mainstream friendly song like 1004. I liked 1004 but it definitely did not feel like BAP's heart was in it, like they were doing it just for success and money. On top of that, this song showed how much Yongguk, the person who can't stand injustice, held his feelings in for the sake of his BAP members. In Asian culture, the number 4 is considered VERY unlucky and means "death" so it drives even deeper his depression and self loathing and anger. But even at the very end, he thinks of his fans and tries to assure them that everything will be ok. He won't kill himself if only for the sake of everyone else.
I can't help but be worried that Yongguk returned to TS Ent for the sake of BAP. He was never one for fame and he probably would be fine going back to being an underground rapper but he knew his dongsaengs would be devastated. He knows just how loyal they are to him and he couldn't sacrifice their dreams for his sake. All I can say is, if TS Ent screws with BAP again, the fury they saw from BABYZ during the lawsuit will be nothing compared to what they'll see from us this time around.

Hi. I've been out of the loop for about 2 years. Care to explain what happened with B.A.P and their company? Bang Yong Guk is one of my two very favourite korean artists (the other one being Zion. T) and this song made me realize he just wants to do his thing, his music, and will most likely end up doing so. And I'll be happy for him. He's a great person. Most people tend to forget idols are adults too and have their own tastes. But this is industry managed so... yeah. It's work for him and a way to keep making music so he keeps on going. But I see how frustrated he is. If only they would let him create more... man, the albums would go from amazing to fucking legend. Ah~
+Jannathejoker basically, TS ent. worked b.a.p too hard and didn't give them enough room to express themselves as artists. they rejected songs yongguk wrote bc they deemed it too dark and not as profitable as pop songs. they also forced b.a.p to do several comebacks each year, didn't take into consideration their music styles, gave each member only about $16,000 for 3 years that they were idols, and disrespected the parents after an attempt for an intervention/negotiation. officially, they were sued for slave contracts and unfair profit distribution. this happened in November 2014 I believe. in August 2015, b.a.p and TS came to an agreement/compromise and dropped the lawsuit, continuing with the contract on the condition that they're treated better and that the members are allowed a larger role in the production/composition of the music they put out. let's just hope that TS is following through with their end of the deal after dragging b.a.p to hell and back with the unfair treatment and legal battle.
Personally, if I were them, I will go into independent label and work things out from there, since they have great supporters from BABYZ, example Jay Park (ex. 2PM).
Furthermore they can be more successful than now, just need you all to support or why not Yongguk do it as the "side project" instead. Post it in RUclips or Ipod music and see how much download or see he could get. And if still the company choose to be arrogant about the statics, then that when the BABYZ can voice out.
I do not know much about Kpop thing and the process, so I not sure what will the effect.
I am more into Jrock so I know the struggle they first started, bitter sweet success, many of these successful band started from independent label.
Its take alot of hard work and dedication which BAP already has it. Leap the faith and I believe they will success. I have see it before and I dare to comment it.

I always feel depress, I try so hard not to show it to people around me, doesn't matter people I know in real life or online.. I always seen as someone who have a good life since I always laugh and seems like someone with no worries where in reality I hide it deep in my heart. whenever I listen to this song, I burst into tears. living with mom, my dad ignored us for almost 10 years. now that I've start working, every responsible has passed to my shoulder. my brothers doesn't seems to care, I basically pay everything for my house. work life isn't any better, hypocritical, office politics, backstabber, selfish person are everywhere. there's one time I feel like giving up, but I know I can't, I still have to look after my mom. I still have dream to catch on. this song is almost the same as what I've always wanted to say but I just couldn't utter it to anyone. I'm not someone who's good with words, I barely speak up my thought because I know no one ever care to listen. the pain in my heart can never be shared with anyone, because the wound is too deep, even it looks like it hasrecovered there's the inner wound still there.. This man is a genius. The world needs raw artists like these, that don't foam at the mouth when they are offered fame.
Yongguk doesn't demand respect from anyone, yet many Babys and people who don't even know BAP give it to him because he is just that good. He's not one to beat around the bush. He's not one to play cat and mouse.
The video, however simple, was very powerful. The black silhouette (my interpretation) being Yongguk's shadow in a empty world. No individuality, just a white background and thus conformity, parading as purity ridiculing Yongguk and other "outcasts" yet itself hiding behind the blinds of "good, purity and justice". A black sheep among the flock, an outsider among the crowd.
This is why I respect this man so much. I don't even have to touch on his lyrics because they speak volumes on their own.

Finally, I have the courage to post for this work of art...Yes I looked up the English translation after seeing the video. My heart broke into tons of new ways. His voice is so raw I knew the song was deep before reading the translation. Bang Yongguk is, has always been the real deal indisputably a legit lyricist/Rapper. Try and challenge that and you are a buffoon lacking reason. This song is very much who he really is. Deep, emotional, raw, open, utterly devastating yet totally empowering and uplifting. They took control and power from him yet he is saying F**K you I am taking it all back! (sorry) I said it before will say it over and over again, he is a quiet man but when he graces us with a little glimpse into his soul it is Mind Blowing. Some people may not grasp it but that's the beauty of it. He talks about what he's lost but also that there is beauty in tragedy because he will get back on track to where he needs to be, to be alright. From the ashes rises the Phoenix. I believe in Bang Yongguk, his choices and his actions. It is like I released all of those negative painful feelings and just like that I felt better. I have been going through difficult times but slowly things are changing and I understand Bang's feeling a little. This song is precious oxygen and I think Bang needed to release this not only for himself but for us Babyz and fans too. They, B.A.P, have had to walk a very fine line. i just love this song so much. yes, the meaning is very poignant and the subject matter is quite upsetting but when you can relate to it, it means so, so much and hits home much harder. this song means so much to me. yongguk means so much to me. i think it's a very beautiful thing when you're reminded that even idols, celebrities, these people we hold to such high esteem are still people like us; their struggles are the same, their emotions are the same, we are all still the same. yongguk is an artist, nothing less, and his mind is so beautiful. the lyrics of yamazaki actually reflect the lyrics of this song but in a more 'devil-may-care' way, like he's finally learned to deal with how he's feeling and overcome them, and can now even mock them, in a way. but he never forgets where he came from, and i love that so much. i'm so glad to see him grow as an artist, as a musician, as a performer, as a person. i have nothing but respect for him and will be listening to his music for a loooong time.

I love the lyrics to this so, so, so much. He's basically throwing it out there that he wants more than what TS was giving, he wants to make music that is his own; and his own music is something from the heart that has meaning. But B.A.P has always been very honest, especially with First Sensibility and them announcing that it was made because they needed to target a larger audience. However, I see, and I'm sure many others can tell as well, that BYG has bigger concerns that that of fame. He has empathy towards the world and seeks change. When so many famous people do good deeds, they make it charity, but BYG has this intangible way of standing side by side with those in need rather than just dropping in and saying "I'm famous so hi, have I changed your world yet?". He wants to disregard those that sit with "fat bellies", a symbol usually used for the greed for money and prosperity, and tell the world what he wants them to hear rather than the idiocy that people call "writing" these days, writing that has no meaning nor purpose, writing with empty words. After researching about the mention to his grandfather, the song just became that much more personal. BYG is one of those world changers that dig beneath your skin, telling you straight up what he wants you to know. He puts in his personal experiences because, as many know, that is sometimes the only way to get people to connect. I've read that the watch at the beginning is his grandfather's and it just ties everything into such a impactfully depressive circle.
I also am obsessed with the music video and the instrumental. Yes, repetitive. Yes, minimalistic. Yes, non-traditional within the k-pop grounds. But it just shows so much; there is so much to be interpreted. Perhaps he feels his true self is hidden in the lights of fame, where he can not write lyrics based on his heart and talent. And the flashes of light in the darkness showing the actual BYG could be showing that we can only see glimpses of him through the darkness, the shrouded lies of media. The record shaped as a heart could symbolize his passion for music, something he holds on to. Not to mention the eerie piano that just makes me shiver.
All in all, the music video combined with the music and BYG's voice, it has a powerful impact. Even without knowing the translation, it's so obvious he is rapping about something he is passionate about. It's even more obvious that it is a serious and unrelentingly heart-wrenching topic to him. I can't imagine the music we would be listening to if he had complete freedom with writing. He could be, he is, changing the world, impacting it even more that he already has.

B.A.P is one of the very few original kpop-groups and this is a fact!Before them..i followed two of the biggest kpop-groups but..i gave up on them because i discovered B.A.P(in 2015) and i realized that the others two lost their originality and modesty..this is my opinion!B.A.P deserves the world but it's a shame that many chose quantity over quality!

I wonder why I missed out the release of this song back then, I became a baby in 2014 slightly before their lawsuit and never left ever since. In recent years I’ve been struggling with mental health, and today I came to listen to this song and it made me cry 😭 it also reminded me of how much pain B.A.P members had to go through.. Hearing this song and understanding the lyrics were so heartbreaking. You can really feel BYG feelings here 💔 but I’m glad that they have come back recently and they all looked so happy on stage ✨ I can’t be there physically but watching all the videos on TikTok alrdy made my hearts full. The expressions on their faces while they enjoyed the stage with the presence of fans whom they love and loves them, are so priceless ❤️

I thought about the line “my fans hold my two hands” a lot.
This is my first time watching it, and I realized that the reason I stay close to way too many people, and when I meet new people I tell them everything about me in an effort to relate to them, is because I want to be there for them.
A couple years ago, depression hit me and I fell, hard. Everybody, yet nobody was there, for a year. I never told anyone, I did not want to burden people. And then, I told somebody, an outpouring of emotions, anger and sadness. They were an internet friend, we weren’t even that close but it lifted such a huge weight off my chest. I was still depressed, but not as low as before. I then discovered kpop, or BTS in particular and heard RM’s solos, and it boosted me out of depression. I was so happy, but it left scars and I occasionally relapsed.
I did not want this to happen to anyone, ever, and I gained the trust of many friends, hoping they’d confide in me incase anything ever happened to them.
Thank you Bang Yongguk oppa (he’s older than me, so gotta keep the honorifics!) for making me realize this.

When I first saw this vid, two things struck me.
First, the vid looked like it was made on a $5 budget. It was incredibly simple - B&W, only one person in the whole vid, minimal SFX, minimal set design. It could well have been made at home with a personal camera and Sony Vegas. Once again, incredibly simple and the total opposite of fancy/entertaining/vibrant/catchy, etc.
Second, it looked and felt like a true work of art. It was more art than any B.A.P vid I've ever seen, and it was so incredibly emotional, all those little details andf facial movements that say so much and are so much more noticeable in black n white than in color.
I know that Bbang is a fan of B&W. I love it too, because when the image is devoid of all colors but black and white, the tones and shades become so much more expressive. It's as if by stripping the image of color, B&W shows its true colors, its inner character.
Here, we see a silhouette stripped even of facial features - a man full of darkness in the bright, empty world. We see the dark place that Bbang was in when he wrote this song - a piece of an actual bedroom, and a perfect metaphor to Bbang's psychological state. It's all so expressive, and it all works perfectly to express the thoughts and feelings that Bbang put into this song.
And the absolute, utter simplicity - it's so... beautiful. In my honest personal opinion, the best kind of beauty to me is simple, naked beauty without any frills and bling; that which the Japanese call 'wabi-sabi'. This kind of beauty is the most real one, because it comes from the inside, not from the outside.
That's what I thought when I saw the vid for the first time, when I haven't read the lyrics. I love all of B.A.P vids, and I love love love their music - it really stands out on the Kpop market, it's beautiful and powerful, and the lyrics are great, and the rappers/singers are amazeballs, - but this vid is definitely more powerful and striking to me. I really respect Bbang and Rotta for achieving so much with so little. I honestly believe that a budget of a gazillion bucks couldn't make this vid any better, because it's already perfect.
Well, that was before I read the translated lyrics. I finally read them today after the sad news, and then I was, like. DAMN SON, I KNEW YOU WERE GOOD, BUT I COULDN'T EVEN IMAGINE YOU WERE *THIS* GOOD.
Bang Yongguk, ladies and gentlemen, is a true artist. I hope he finds his way and stays healthy and happy. I will pray for him, because the world needs people like him.
