  • The Powerful Owl Project aims to inspire the general public, educate them, and train people to conduct surveys in order to deliver the kinds of data that will assist with conserving this threatened species.
This session covers how to find Powerful Owls, where we are looking for them and highlights the importance of dusk surveys for locating breeding locations.

I'm keen!..... I think there are a pair in my backyard on Tamborine Mountain......they were coming out right on dusk
Then last night, I was sitting outside having a wine with my neighbour, when one came really close to where we were sitting, circled around twice then disappeared.....I hear their call frequently at night
    Delightful!
    Much better than Netflix

We now live at Thornlands and have bush land across the road , and have two O/P that visit the area , But when we living at Tarragindi not far from Toohey forest in Brisbane , when I got up at 4:30 am to make a coffee I would see one that would sit on our close line ,When I walked around the yard would pick up the dog poo in the yard I would find the Powerful Owl castings , I also worked at Griffith Uni Nathan campus I and others in the fire crew found a bout 4 nest
