thank you for your support...
I have always been told to open the caliper bleed valve when retracting caliper pistons to prevent back flushing contaminated brake fluid into the master cylinder. Great video presentation.
@edsanders5479 I never had a problem with that but thank you for your comment and also for watching
Did my brakes for years, but now I'm 64 and quit doing mine last time. Too hard for me to get up and down anymore. Nice job Captain!
sorry to hear that cap. and i understand we have some limitations as we get older, thanks for watching and i hope the best for you cap.👍⚓
Excellent video and explanation...you should teach techs how to do videos for youtube...Thank you!
@@vukoradovic2432 You're awesome.Thank you so much for the fastest feedback👍😉
Great video! Please put a jackstand under that vehicle after you jack it up. I was nervous the whole time I watched with the van just supported by the jack. You do a great job in your videos.
I can remember years ago as an apprentice the head mechanic barking at me if I was trying to do a quick job using the floor trolley jack without using jack stands. @Mercedes Sprinter DIY, it would awful to see you get injured making great content.
Couldn't agree more - got my Crafter camper in bits doing the front brakes. That jack is really extended and wobbly to reach the jacking point. I went to my local timber yard and cut up some garden sleepers for blocks as a cheaper alternative to expensive axle stands.
Good stuff but stay safe! You really don't want several tonnes of van sitting on you.
Thank you for a great presentation, very clear and comprehensive...Cheers
thanks Chris for your positive feedback👍😉
Thanks man, best instruction I've found on you tube. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! and for watching and if you like boating this is my other channel ruclips.net/video/SBn2qwoUMk4/видео.html 👍👍⚓

@mercedessprinterdiy8556 Thanks for all the videos! I changed my fuel filter last week after watching. I went to the link for this brake kit, but noticed there are a few bad reviews. Have your brakes been performing as expected? Any issues? Would you still recommend this kit? I generally like to purchase OEM.

Great video! What size allen wrench?
don't remember but i recommend you to buy the kit with all the wrench , you will need them in the future 👍
Very well done. Thank you!
Thank you buddy for the awesome positive feedback
Torque Specs for each of the different bolts? Don't say gutentight! Hehe
Also, is it necessary to replace the Disc Brake Anti-Rattle Clips?
Thanks!
What you saw in my video? That's exactly what is required to change and it works. Perfect, I already ran it for over 30000 miles And this breaks work perfect
You should provide torque specs for each type if bolt. Go watch FCP Euro videos they tell you the exact sockets sizes and torque specs.
You leave a lot of out of these videos. You can do better.
Amazing, thank you!
Any time and thank you for watching
Good information did the sensors work after replacement?
Thank you and yes it works automatically you don't need to do nothing to the computer
Did you just use the OEM jack to lift the Van and no jackstand? If so, that seems risky.
great point thanks for looking out 👍
I add some 4 x 4 and 2 x 6 wood blocks like building a brick wall. 3 each per layer and put it under another suitable location and leave a bit of gap incase the jack collapses.
I would like you to help me with something, I have a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter, and I need to change the rear discs, what brand do you recommend and are they an exact measurement? Thank you
My advice is check the link in the description below and look at the ones that I purchase and see if they are the same size if they don't call that company and they should be able to give you the recommendation for your model and year👍
Enjoyed your video! Where did you get your replacement kit from?
I got it From Amazon and I placed the link in the Description below of everything I use including the brakes and rotors but there's kit on the description below captain
Hi Sir ! Can you please send me the link of the pads and disc brake ? Or anyone else please who knows any good quality disc brake and pads for 2017 2500 Mercedes Sprinter 3.0 L ?
Hello i got them at amazon and amazon dont want me to promo their products or links im sorry for the inconvenience
How are the brakes holding up?
hello Joel i love them works better
thanks for the help!
Anytime JB And thank you for watching
I paid the dealer $1200 USD for front axel only... and this was all they did? ROBBERY. Thank you for your video. I have ordered the kit and hope you get the affiliate link. Is there anything needed for the warning system internally in the van? When my front brakes went out on a road trip, we had a very limited time to drive the van before it would limit us down to 5 mph. If you have changed the oil, it would be something like the reset of the counter... Either way, great video and very cool of you to do this for us.
Thank you fpr watching and yes thanks fpr using the link because my channel makes a commission and it really helps making this video ,hope your back breaks installation goes easily, $ 1200 is robbery 😟
you are the best sir
thanks im glad you like the video 👍👍
Good job. God bless you
Anytime and thank you for watching
What's the size of the bolts and allen key thats needed? Thanks.
don't remember buddy but buy the set and you will use it in the future
Hi Capt. OOTR.... you are amazing; is there ANYTHING that you don't know how to fix!??? ☺
Before seeing your video I would not have attempted doing a brake-job, but after seeing your great tutorial, even I would give it a try! Thank you!
Thank you Andrew you're awesome I'm pretty sure you could do it even without my video👍 And thank you for watching my other channel captain😉👍⚓
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 Hey Capt... No!... there is no way I would have tried it without watching your video... Your videos are amazing, detailed, and show step-by-step instructions... Thank you once more!
@@andrewfyakim525 Thank you Andrew that really motivates me keep making new videos really appreciate your awesome support captain have an awesome night and hugs from Florida
Awesome 😎 mate easy as 👍
Thanks 👍
So you don’t bleed the brakes? Thanks
No need just use the caliper opening toot and you will save time and money , hope the best for you👍
I would recommend bedding the new pads/discs in with some harsh braking for a few miles spesh before you drag anything big and heavy then just open the bleed nipples slightly 1 at a time to release any small air bubbles. You won't need to pump the pedal as brake systems usually are under a small pressure (around 5psi I think) to take up any lag.
Old UK pre MOT trick from before vacuum assisted braking systems. You'd be surprised how small bubbles can make for a spongy pedal. It turns a good brake pedal into a brilliant brake pedal.
Don't forget to check your brake fluid every time you work on your brakes. By keeping an eye on the level you can tell if you have issues.
Omg thank you
Im glad it help you , thanks for watching
FYI you dont put grease on the metal retainers. Never put grease near your pads, you'll end up contaminating them.
Thanks James for the heads up

thanks will keep it in mind and thanks for reaching out to me👍
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 Sure! Keep us in mind and looking forward to send you some light upgrades. Free feel to contact us when needed:)
First mistake you did is leaving the vehicle raised on the jack only! those bottle jacks will slip easily and the van will land on your head!
Raise the van at the dedicated jack points and always use jack stands that are rated for the correct weight.
Also the reservoir should not overflow once you replace pads unless you added more fluid before.
it's a good practice to flush the brake fluid atleast once a year to have fresh and clean fluid free from moisture that builds up in the fluid because of it content
Yes the fluid change the dealer did that maintenance, thanks for your comment
You should torque all the bolts with a torque wrench, maybe include them in your video. Would help a lot.. 🤦🏻♂️
Thank you buddy That's awesome suggestion

Sorry to hear that captain did you buy it new or use because in my case I bought it brand new and for years have no problems and in the past I had all the vehicles that they were the worst vehicles I've ever driven the sprinter is one of the best van that have tried in the market.
But maybe you bought yours use with a lot of miles is that your case?
