I rarely do this but me and my buddy really loves your show, made me and him start in the construction field driving heavy-duty equipment watching your pond build, it's just a joy to watch you in your craft and really have love and joy in what your doing, I know life comes with many challenges seen and unseen by us the viewers but I hope and pray that you and the great family you have built including all the wildlife continue this adventure, I think the V is still available so I think a good name maybe Van Helsing

In regency to the “wash away” factor of the grass seed, I have experienced the same issue. Buying a $50 round bale of hay and scattering in a light covering over the area really aided in keeping the seeds from washing out.
I was going to say the same thing. When I worked in landscaping we would spread hay over the grass seeds to keep them in place.
This is amazing at how wonderful your videos are a year later and every video is eagerly awaited!! My fiancé and myself love watching your pond progress!!

Asked my 3 year old what a fish name should be and he said, “Fish Bob”, so I suppose that is my suggestion haha

Been stationed in Okinawa for the last 2 years and watching these videos brings me back home and being from Mississippi i used to fish a pond that looked very similar to this one. Been watching all of the pond videos from the start and i love seeing the progress and the whole ecosystem you have basically created. I work on the F15s out here and i think Eagle would be a cool name for the E slot. Thank you for the videos and bringing me home for a bit each time i see these videos.

My son turned me on to you channel way before the 5 acre pond series... thanks very interesting and informative.
Love the videos! Built a pond many years ago in the middle of the woods. It is only about 1 1/2 acres. We included bullfrogs and snails in the initial stocking. Just a suggestion, might want to add some water plants for oxygen and cover for all the offspring. Also, you may want to think about using some type of white clover around the property and on the dam area. It grows fairly well and will feed the wildlife. Maybe add a few trees that can provide shade around the edge of the pond. Love Alcatraz Island.
I am so happy I found this channel! I am stuck inside my home due to a terminal Neurological disease. I can barely walk, can't drive anymore so I am stuck inside staring at the same walls everyday. Your channel helps me feel like I am actually there. Thank you so much for sharing this pond build with us! For people like me, it helps me stay sane! They haven't given me a timeline for amount of time I have left, all they can do is keep me comfortable. They don't even know why this is happening to me. My diagnosis to those who are curious is "Severe Idiopathic Autonomic Neuropathy". It attacks and destroys my small nerve fibers in my extremities and internal organs. The pain in my hands and legs is literally unbearable even with pain control. I absolutely LOVE this channel, your voice is very relaxing and you seem like a wonderful Human Being! God bless you and thank you again for sharing this journey with us! I just wanted you to know how much happiness this brings to people like myself!!! :)

This is such a great series. I love it. I was thinking, on your banks and island you should try planting white clover. Clover grows quickly and adds nitrogen into the soil which could help grass in the future. Clover stays green even through drought and wildlife eats it and pollinators love it. This could help stabilize the soil for 2-3 years and help the soil quality then you can go in and seed the grass to take over. With the clover cover you’ll lose less seeds with the rain too.

First of all I am very impressed with this series and how after a year I’m still invested into it. I have to go with the name “Shady” in honor of my musk turtle! Can’t wait for the bass to come in!
Love the channel. I found it while looking for ideas for a backyard pond at home that I built last summer. I would say Bubba, Bob, Forest Gump, Sandy, June, and Casper as some bass names!
This is by far the best series of anything I ever watched and I also thank a good bass name would be frank
If I had a chance to name a couple of the Bass, I'd choose Lois and Clark. When I asked my wife she said she likes Henry, that's her vote.
It would be a dream to come to the new cabin and experience the flowing wildlife there. It's been awesome to watch the growth of this pond. I binged the whole process last week and I'm hooked. What an inspiration.

I love your videos. So peaceful to watch. it seem like you and your family take such good care of all the animals big and small, wild or not. I had a great dog that I named "Rocky" ( lab, mastiff mix) He was hit by a truck when he was about a year old and lost one of his hind legs and broke the other but that didn't hold him back. He ran and played just as hard as any one of my other dogs. So if you catch one of your bass that has some sort of physical challenge that fights just as hard as the others maybe consider naming him / her "ROCKY".
I've been following this entire process and I love the way you present all the projects!

As a viewer from Australia that has loved watching the progression of the pond, it would be great to see a Bass named with inspiration from Australia. I'm thinking:
1. Aussie
2. Lizard (Lizzy)
3. Great Barry (after the Great Barrier Reef)
4. Big Red (after Uluru/Ayers Rock)
5. Dunder (short for Down Under... slang for Australia)

I am late, just now catching up on all your videos. the thing that brought me to your videos, is that I am looking to get 17 achers and wanted 5 of it to be a pond, but I tell you, You have me hooked. Great vedios.
Love how far this series has come. I just recently introduced my wife and now she is hooked too.
I have one of the small portable generators as well. I purchased solar panels to help charge mine when there are no options for power. Great for camping.
I vote for the name Frank for one of the bass. It is in honor of my grandfather. One of the greatest men who taught me about fishing, and helped me catch my first catfish at 5 years old. One of the best memories of my life.

I've seen windmill powered pond agitators (the wind turns the mill, the mill pumps air to the agitators). Something you might want to look into as a back-up for when the power goes out.
I’ve absolutely loved to watch the progression of this pond, there’s a special feeling of connection between you and the viewers and I love it! Also, I think Zenin would be a cool name for a bass

J - James Bass (007)
F - Fin McCool (Little nod to our own Belfast Giant Finn McCool) or Fungie
S - Sharkbait or Sharknado
C - Cleo (Got to get some Disney in there) or M- Monstro
Adore seeing all the wildlife, can't wait to live on a farm one day, though we may not have a 5 Acre pond, we can always live vicariously through you!

Love this series, just binge watched it the last day or so such amazing content. I think for some names my go to has always been Maverick, ideally for one of those aggresive bass, For a female the name Ayla is of Hebrew origin and means "oak tree" so i think that would be cool.
Awesome video. The pond is looking great. Fish names are a nice addition. Here’s some suggestions. Skipper, Mr Limpet, Bubbles, Capt Hook, Tuna Turner, Peter Pan Pan

Man great videos, that pond is awesome. I can't wait till those base get bigger and you start fishing it. Watching you feed Moby makes me want to get back into bass fishing. I'm down in Naples, Florida, so I have the everglades in my back yard tons of great fishing spots. A good name for one of the bass is Skunk Ape, since the bass are half Florida bass. Skunk ape is the big foot/ yeti of the Florida everglades.

Hope I can come and visit one day but for today I'm stuck down here in Tassie (Australia) and that's where I get the inspiration for one of the names of the Bass "Taz" like the Tassie Devil cartoon

I grew up in FL fishing bass tournaments with family. I now live in Alaska. It’s so nice to see how you’ve done this. Something we always wanted to do growing up but never got the chance. I absolutely this whole series! it’s been a blast to watch you guys go through this process. I’ve got a name for one of the bass if you catch it in Bonnie’s bayou. “Bengal the beast of Bonnie’s bayou” or just bengy for short. I thought it was fitting since you’re stocking the pond with tiger bass.
I highly highly recommend throwing a sapling watering bag around those trees. They slowly release water and usually need to be filled once or twice a week at the most.

Zander the Zippy bass would be an awesome name. I have been watching this series for the better of 10 months and has really sparked my interest in to one day building my own pond. I always wait for Sunday's new video knowing that you have improved what the lake looks like internally and externally. Maybe one day I will be fishing there staying in the Crimson Cabin. Hi. Following your progress and its amazing the wild life that is building up around your pond. Been watching the progress from the start... in the past video you said you were going to set up a underwater cam . Another option would be to get a ROV like the Chasing Gladius mini s. No I'm not a sales person. Easy to use and you can move any ware in the pond you like. I use one myself. No no names from me. Antony.

Pond looks amazing! Love seeing all the wildlife showing up to check out the pond. For names how about W-Wildcat (since I’m from Kentucky) K-Kitten (in honor of the newest farm member) L-Line Breaker (cause you’re gonna have several of those) and Y-Yanker(there’s gonna be lots of lines yanked).
Hi guys, I remember back in the early stages of construction you mentioned a full breakdown of the costs involved. I think that'd be really interesting. Any chance of this video happening in the near future?
Suggestion: Cheapest burlap fabric with a little straw. Put your seed on the slopes covered lightly with straw and covered with burlap. Later more grass seed can be added if needed. Coming along very nicely

I was watching Game of Thrones last night and it gave me some ideas for some bass names. My favorite's are Ice king , Drogon, The mountain, and Jon Snow.
