Pete is Britain's Phil spector musically... And also pwl as a trio we're unstoppable in the 80s great guys.. Petes a true living legend incredible man what he's went through personally and professionally is unfathomable. Best wishes for the future Pete ❤️🙏
If you watch top of the pops the story of 1980-1990 you see this mans talent all over it. He is most deservedly a legend in the world of music. Anyone who complains about the music and/or artists he created is in the minority. All you have to do is count the number of albums sold.
At 42:00 there’s a quick clip of Rick Astley who I saw on a different program speaking about his music career and that one super famous song he did lol. He commented how that one song made him a millionaire and that he owed it all to Pete. He was quite humble and gave Pete all the credit lol. But that one song changed his life and he was very grateful about it. Can you imagine singing one song and it makes you a millionaire and you never have to work a regular job ever again?! Amazing! lol
I love this man! He has done so much for music (and of course his partners Stock and Aitken as well) and his passion is contagious. Simon Cowell does not have an ounce of this man's vision and production talent!! Yes, life is all about choices, passions and sacrifices for there is never enough time to have it all. His music will outlive his failed marriages and there are far more people he made happy with his music, than the family members he did upset. He earned his OBE and I adore him tremendously.
I guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
I really enjoyed this interview.....Pete is fab...especially when he presented The Hit Man & Her....what a programme...watched it every Saturday night!
I imagine her, Faye, Lee, H and Lisa would have gotten their fair share. I think that £65 Million is how much the band made in general rather than how much they made for Pete Waterman. Bare in mind that Piers Morgan mentions that the figure doesn't include touring and merchandising so it seems like a realistic total. Plus at the start of the show he says he's worth less than £30 Million so it must just be what Steps made through their singles and albums.
SAW were great they wrote some great music I loved them I loved Mel and Kim, Princess, Rick Astley brilliant entertaining catchy music they understood pop music and that it should be fun and catchy Nd quality.
I loved Kylie and Jason thanks to this man and neighbours. But the hitman and her by far now im older confuses me. I must have had insomnia as a child as I used to watch that TV show before I was aware of who he was or what dance music was. He's the pop music influence that came before reality TV and Simon Cowell for example.
Pete didn't actually discover Steps. They were created by Barry Upton and Steve Crosby. Waterman didn't get on board till after 5, 6, 7, 8. He was a massive part of their success though and they wouldn't have been anywhere near as big a hit without him.
Thank You for uploading this interview! Pete Waterman is an exciting and interesting man who is always ambitious and ready to produce great music! I really enjoyed this program!
In the 19th Century a man like Pete Waterman, a fairly typical humble English genius, would have built the entire Indian railway and sewage systems - under budget and on time - and would have died penniless but revered. In the 20th Century, he built egos out of mediocrity and will die minted but (sadly) forgotten. He's the history (and maybe the future) of Britain in a nutshell.
Does anyone know what his son who died in hospital actually had? What was it that he died of? I swear whenever I hear stories like that it makes me glad that I don’t live there anymore.
At 45:00 he says that Rod Stewart told Chris Evans that Petes was bigger than his lol. Was that Chris Evans that plays Captain America? Does anyone know if thats who he was referring to?
Probably more " Mike Stock & Matt Aitken on the Lyrics of things although Pete had a hand in alot of the words ,A Collective of work & all the < PWL > crew
He went on to audition for the ‘X-Factor’. He didn’t make it as a soloist, though. Instead he was placed into the group Stereo Kicks. They didn’t succeed after their X-Factor’ elimination and disbanded soon after.
I assume all these songs playing in the background are ones produced by SAW. Can someone tell me what the name of the song is playing in the background starting at 19:15??
Yes pretty much all are SAW PWL RECORDS ,I think the one at 1915 is a Piers Morgan show background music of Florence and the Machine - never let me go ! ,for sad parts of the Show I have heard all of Stock Aitken Waterman Choons & rave Choons they done aswell ,I have not heard that Piece of musicas PwL production anywhere ! except on this video
Yes I can help you " the song at 40:49 The Disco Soul funk Group " THE OJAYS - LOVE TRAIN ruclips.net/video/_BlkTSKqE_8/видео.html 🧡🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃 🚧 ,I think it's one of Pete's favourites from " PWL RECORDS WROTE A REFERENCE TO THE OJAYS IN " KYLIES - STEP BACK IN TIME ( REMEMBER THE OLD DAYS !!!! REMEMBER THE O'JAYS -WALKIN IN RHYTHM ) 👍😁👊
WHAT A SAD SAD SAD MAN the rich lists estimate him at 30MILLION and he cant even afford a suit that fits look at his then look at piers,s the man cries because fans show him respect but not because he destroyed the lives of 3 women and 4 children
The rich list is very, very mistaken (and almost ALWAYS estimates FAR beyond what the reality is) but more than that, I will tell you, I am Petes daughter and he has not destroyed any of the lives of any of his 3 children, my late brother or our mothers. We are who we are thanks to the brilliance of our father, we may not agree with all his decisions but we are his family and we will always support him. My dad always tells me to ignore these online comments, but yours got to me (I chose to ignore the one above where you called him a c*nt, thats your opinion) but to say he destroyed our lives, no - he made them.
Toni Tuesday toni i can sympathize with your lost my was son in a car accident soon after he was in the hospital when the doctors told me he wasnt gonna make it its very hard but i feel it makes the family stronger and closer there were times i worked alot not at home much but i tried to make it as stable as i could i give u and your family my deepest sympathy and respect
It made me sad to watch your face as you talked about your dad, & to see the light missing from your eyes- to have that experience of your dad constantly choosing not to spend time with you growing up. I'm sure you're all grown up & get his passion, but how hard to see a man of such brightness just not take the time to appreciate & interact with these beautiful people he helped create. To see him laugh & look around for approval for his success, yet be so blind about his family & what's important...
Easily said, partly true. But some of the chord progressions are very well crafted, and he had an ear for what people wanted, which is an undoubted skill whether you like it or not. I thought the same as you but got to know some of his production team, they were excellent musicians.
Pete is Britain's Phil spector musically... And also pwl as a trio we're unstoppable in the 80s great guys.. Petes a true living legend incredible man what he's went through personally and professionally is unfathomable. Best wishes for the future Pete ❤️🙏
Pete is a really down to earth bloke and he worked hard, it was tragic he lost his son, the guy is a legend

Thomas Farmer im sure he would have looked after his ex wives financially 😃 i thinks hes fantastic

DebsLuvsMusic i love hit man and her...the energy this man has ...fantastic
Dude is a living legend
Pete may be a multi millionaire but sometimes in his life tragedy has come so sad about the death of his son.
Lovely man very talented
I met him at the NEC warley model railway show 3 years earlier
Pete seems like a really nice man..good for him 😃
liked seeing Claire from steps face when they said that steps had made £65m. Her expression was "where is our share!"

What a remarkable interview.
What a legend..
SAW didn't write Dead or Alive's song 'Spin Me Round'. The band wrote that and went to SAW to produce it.
bullshit
No, actually true mate.
They came up with a very crude, elementary idea and he turned it into a hit. That can’t be denied.
I loved Kylie and Jason thanks to this man and neighbours. But the hitman and her by far now im older confuses me. Just ordered the Steps 20 track Gold CD after watching this !
Absolutely man !!!!!!! Absolutely musical legend
Love this show and Piers.
Thank You for uploading this interview! Pete Waterman is an exciting and interesting man who is always ambitious and ready to produce great music! I really enjoyed this program!
such a handsome man.....
my absolute hero
quite enjoyed this one
Mike and Matt made up the real musical talent behind SAW.

Why shouldn’t he make a career out of something he loves?
Actually I quite liked his tunes
in western countries if you’re a school dropout opportunities still knock on your doors. soooo different here in the Philippines.
really enjoyed this..very interesting
i sleep every night to this. strange?
Love you xxx
Love pet ...and from the area of the country as my self.
The Hitman and Her at Mr Smiths in Warrington. Used to come in from a club and watch it
Sticky Carpet Night Club Era ! Before night clubs had only vinyl flooring , theres a thing ,how one of the things changed near 1990
ah i think hes really nice man
The faces of the Steps girls when they realise he made 65 million off their backs lol. Poor sods.
Kylie should have said something, seems a bit ungrateful after he made her...
I hear their both are close friends to this day ! He goes to see alot of her Tours 👍
What was the song playing in the background of 30.26? The instrumental part
Does anyone know what his son who died in hospital actually had? What was it that he died of?
I swear whenever I hear stories like that it makes me glad that I don’t live there anymore.
Mad Cow Desease ( MCD) It's a bovine issue with meat of a cow it was a huge headline in the 90's.
At 45:00 he says that Rod Stewart told Chris Evans that Petes was bigger than his lol. Was that Chris Evans that plays Captain America? Does anyone know if thats who he was referring to?
I’d imagine it was Chris Evans the English DJ and TV presenter.
CHRIS EVANS AS IN RADIO DJ & TFI FRIDAYS & BIG BREAKFAST HOST ! 👊🤣🤣🤣👍
Thank you 😊
When this is 65 million you could see Claire from steps looking like we didn’t get that money
pizzas world wide send bill to peter waterman
Is he the one who wrote "Never gonna give you up"?
Yes
@@kimmarievan-ever6599 oh ok
Probably more " Mike Stock & Matt Aitken on the Lyrics of things although Pete had a hand in alot of the words ,A Collective of work & all the < PWL > crew
Big train enthusiast
And then pop idol
What ever happened to James Graham?
He went on to audition for the ‘X-Factor’. He didn’t make it as a soloist, though. Instead he was placed into the group Stereo Kicks. They didn’t succeed after their X-Factor’ elimination and disbanded soon after.

That is just backing music. Not SAW
+Jake Miz (MrJakeMiz) Never Let Me Go - Florence & The Machine.
At 19:15 is the lion sleeps tonight

that sounds good to me THAT DOESN'T SOUND GOOD TO ANYONE
I love (and will always love) much of SAW's music, however , I've never thought he was a particularly engaging bloke. Never liked him, never will.
And then killed Josh Doubie carrier at eurovision

His first hit was fat Devine you think your a man so this is a bit wrong.
That was SAW's first hit, not Pete's
their sound was good for a while, but over time it all started sounding similar, and dated
peter i did notlike your dad he was racist and secondly collect your p45
What ever are you on about?
Nigga shut up
He was the purveyor of tacky no substance poor quality song's and the singer's to march.
