The floor toms are tuned too closely together. I would like to hear the kit in natural room sound without all the muffling, moongel, and EQ.
The kick!!! Omg
It's just mixed and recorded quiet good. And for sure tuned well.
That has nothing to do with the original sound of the kit.
I have a 2005 MiJ performer still my favorite drum set
Tama PoweRock... incredible 🥁🔥👍
Amazing !! Drummer, drum and cymbals!!
I have 7 piece bb performers and they are awesome but the bm shells look and sound great as well.
dream tone
Beautiful demo.
excellente présentation bravo au batteur!
Reminds me of Kenny Aronoff with the smaller second rack tom.
😃 🥁Super sound Tama🥁😃
Звук просто ВОЛШЕБНЫЙ !!
Amazing sound! Even with stock heads
Evans are pro level heads. Of course they sound good.
It's just mixed and recorded quiet good. And for sure tuned well.
That has nothing to do with the original sound of the kit.
Sweet sound
What type of wood was used for this drum set? Maple/Birch?
🌹 💞 💞
How can i get hardware shiped to PR. since Ebay wont shiped them.
What happened with the Bubinga kits? As soon as everyone started saying how great they sounded it seems like they just stopped making them all of a sudden!?!
This is the cheaper of the Starclassic line if I'm correct? Still sounds very good to my ears. I'm guessing where they skimp to save coins is on the hardware ?
No more bubinga. It’s been banned to cut them now!!! Nothing has degraded for as sound. Walnut actually sounds great too. Videos does no justice to a point. Their bubinga kits are becoming harder to find unless you got 7k to shell out!
Also it’s just the way he recorded and tuned his drums.
1, this or Gretsch RN2? 2, what is the starclassic line missing to be considered a “professional” line? (Just heard they are in-between intermediate and professional).
This is a mid-line, maybe semi-pro kit, with starclassic logo, some savings in wood (chinese maple and birch), and with fever and simpler hardware, but with special finishes. These drums are compete with Mapex Armory in features and specifications (with higher price), and these are so far from Gretsch Renown.
The RN2's category equivalent is the Starclassic walnut/birch (Tama has higher price again).
I'm a Tama guy, with an early japanese made Starclassic Maple, and it's absolutely a high end kit, but I had a Renown some years ago, and the Gretsch is a lifetime wonderful kit too. Not just for the price.
IMO, regardless the special finishes, or the starclassic logo, this Performer is the weakest set in performer line ever, absolutely not compareable with B/B-s, or the old all birch performers.
All he needs are better cymbals.
This is not the real sound of this drums. The sound is over compressed , too much EQ
You're right. It's very misleading. You can get a a sound like that from a cheap kit with good heads.
I don't know how Meinl sells this crap.
These are entry level cymbals, they won‘t sound as nice as pro cymbals.
You made these sound dead. That's a shame. Beautiful kit and good drumming though.
Actually, this is one of the worst Tama kits I've heard.. I think even my silverstars have more resonance and breath to them. these are dead and boxy, too me these sound more in the vein of how their 'P' competitor's kits usually sound - short punch and then nothing. Tama, you can do much better! p.s. the snare is good, though!
I believe its the mining and mixing that makes that type of sound. The EQ is ramped up.
I've heard these live, and they're great. This is a poor mic/mix job, I'm guessing.
@@charliemoffett well, I haven't played it yet, so there's still hope it's the production, but I've yet to see a clip were it sounded worthy of the glory of the Starclassic name.. so far, not even close
