Hi, greetings from Ohio! I am enjoying your grocery haul videos. I've been looking for powdered buttermilk but haven't checked Kroger. I'll check there tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Tina, I am glad you are enjoying my approach with these videos. I just want people to relax and then do the work. If you've been able to prep with a spirit of calm, great. Just keep working at it.
@@homemakingwithdenise I really have. I do not feel anxious or overwhelmed at all. I have been doing this for a couple of months now and I find it satisfying to prepare ahead for my family 💕.
YOU HAVE THE MOST SPECIFIC PRODUCT INFORMATION I EVER HEARD. CRAZY INFORMATIVE FOR NORMAL PEOPLE SHOPPING AND PREPPING, NOT ODD SURVIVAL CRAP. AND YOU ARE A VERY ATTRACTIVE WOMAN, A GOOD VOICE I LIKE TO HEAR AND EASY TO FOLLOW. VERY REALISTIC APPROACH TO DAILY LIFE.
Just a quick note... a lot of us are prepping rice and I just read about the best way to prepare it to lessen the risk of arsenic. First... brown Rice typically has more than white rice, U.S. rice tends to have more natural arsenic than rice grown in Asia. The best way to prepare rice to get rid of the arsenic is to soak it first... over night... change out the water, then change out water again when par boiled. It's a little more work... but better for your health.
Came across your channel..love all your content. Wish we were neighbors....being a homemaker is a dying art. I have always enjoyed keeping house cooking, gardening, sewing....I’ve often said I was born in the wrong era! So nice to see someone else enjoy being a homemaker!♥️
I enjoyed your video and your voice is great. You have a new subscriber. Fideo is awesome we make fideo con carne with it. Grandkids love it. It's like Mexican flavor skillet dinner angle hair pasta dish. Partially fry your ground meat with 1/4 diced onion drain off excess fat but leave about 1 tbsp. Fry fideo in the fat with the ground meat and onion until lightly browned . Add one can (about 12 oz petite diced tomatoes) and water just to cover, add spices. You can use any type of taco seasoning or your own mix I use salt and pepper and cumine and Mexican oregano and granulated garlic and chili powder. Put on the lid and turn down the heat to simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes until fideo is done.
Great haul and talking through everything. I also got some of those inexpensive small bags of pasta including the stars! So cute. I have also noticed prices shooting up on some items. Like your olives, I had a hard time finding of the pickles I like earlier this year, so I have been buying a little more on my trips. Also love the Better than Bouillon. I love how you shop the sales, I do the same. It makes such a difference in spending. I also love Mary’s Nest! I will have to check out the other videos and channels you mentioned,
WOW! Quite a haul! So many possibilities! A friend clued me in to the basic meal of pouring a can of Dinty Moore stew over a plate of rice. I like Dinty Moore and I like rice but I stupidly never considered combining the two for a filling, flavorful meal. Live and learn!!!

You know I am always viewing your videos even though I may not comment. I'm usually watching them at 11:00 pm. I just received my Kroger curbside pickup. It's funny I usually arrive an hour early and go through the store!!! Don't ask me why. I LOVE grocery shopping and will be so glad when we can comfortably go to the store. We are blessed that our pantries are stocked. I'm giving can goods away to our food storages in the area. They are running out of food. We have lost another family member to covid and its getting a little too close for comfort. Our holidays are going to be just hubby and I so I'm keeping the faith and cooking joyfully in the kitchen. Oh my. I'm glad your insurance will cover the meat. That's why I've been picking up more canned items lately. I want to be prepared if we lose power. Potatoes, carrots, onions....last a while.
Dollar treat is great for short term preps. They always have lots of olives and pickled things you may like, also they have dried goods, canned meats and cheap medical supplies. I’d love to see a dollar tree pantry haul from you in the future if possible! 😁 Happy prepping!!
Fideo with tomato sauce! Make sure to brown the fideo a little in a well oiled pan for the best Sopa de Fideo. You can add any veggies you want to make it hearty!
This is a quick Corn beef and cabbage. 1) Cut up the cabbage and put it in a large pot, add a small amount of water. You can add salt and pepper to taste. 2) If I have small new potatoes scrub and toss them in. Otherwise peel and cut large potatoes into large chunks. 3) Add the corn beef. Bring to a boil and then simmer until cabbage and potatoes are tender. My family liked cornbread. Also mustard and horseradish as a condiment with this one pot meal. I found this quick recipe on a Denny Moore Beef Stew can 60+ years ago. 1) Set the oven temperature to what's on the canned biscuit container. Put the stew in a casserole dish. Put it in the oven to heat up as it's coming up to temperature for biscuits. 2) Add a can of biscuits on top. Put back into the oven and bake until biscuits are done. Make more rice than you need, next morning add butter, sugar and cinnamon for breakfast. Or make rice pudding for dessert. Have a blessed day, stay safe and healthy 🥰👍👌🙏🦅🔔🗽🇺🇸🙏
Ramon goes great in homemade fried rice. Smash the ramen noodles and brown them in a liitle oil, then add just a little water to rehydrate then add your cooked rice. And you can use the seasoning packet to the add flavor.
I just love you and your videos. ❤❤ i just started my pantry this year. So I am trying to stay organized. Do you have any tips to help with the organization?? Love your haul. Blessings to you and your family.❤
You mentioned that you did not care for french style green beans and you also shared that your husband likes pickles. Here's a good way to use them. Have you made marinated veggie salad? One can drained of french style green beans, peas, corn, diced green onion, diced bell pepper, and a small jar of pimento. Be sure to drain all the veggies. Dressing - 3/4 c vinegar, 1/2 c vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 c sugar, 1 tablespoon water and 1 teaspoon pepper. Combine the veggies and set aside. Combine the ingredients for the dressing and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Let the dressing cool and pour over veggies and cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours. The longer it marinates the better it gets. Dip out servings with a slotted spoon and leave remaining in dressing.
Better than bullion, can of chicken, can of mixed vegetables, bag of the tiny pasta, and Bingo you got a nice soup, add a few of the dried onions or a bit of garlic salt! Very fast and could feed several .
What a great haul! Thaank you so much for sharing! I always get ideas for things to add to my pantry. I just wish I could find shelf-stable milk. I *love those smaller cartons. I also read a couple of months ago that we should expect prices of olives and olive oil to skyrocket in the coming year due to poor production. I try to get some of my favorite (grlic and jalapeno stuffed) every time I go to Sam's.
@@Jennifer_Skinner Mine doesn't. I did find a couple of cartons of Parmalat at Walmart, but have read mixed reviews of it. Gossner is very cheap on their site, but the shipping is outrageous!
I love the Classico..especially since they are actually in a canning jar! The vermicelli can be made just like the Rice a Roni. Mix a portion of each one, and brown it in olive oil…then add water or broth and cook the same way!
All of the fresh fruits and veggies are great for your hubby. FYI Good idea to check the sugar content on some of the other foods for your husband. I found this info that might help. “The American Heart Association (AHA) has stricter limits and recommends that women consume no more than 6 teaspoons or 24 grams of added sugar per day and men stay under 9 teaspoons or 36 grams of added sugar per day.Jul 3, 2019”. This is for “added” sugar. Love all your info!
If you have a Dollar Tree discount store, take a look at their canned and paper tissues goods because often the store carries name brand items for a $1.00.
Love your videos, Denise! I think you'll really like that Saco buttermilk--it's so easy to keep on hand, and they also have some great recipes on their website.
Denise, enjoyed seeing your pantry preps....I know you said you didn't care for the french cut green beans....I'll tell you what I do with it make a side salad with the green beans sliced boiled potatoes like the kind you put in scalloped potatoes that is how I slice them and the hard boiled egg....I then add apple cider vinegar and olive oil as a dressing it is really really good and it goes well with like a rice dish as a side salad....have a bless week.....:-)...Debbie
Would love to see some of meals while cooking them! Also I think Saltine crackers are good, as a substitute for bread, pb&j. Love you and your channel.
@@Jennifer_Skinner If stored properly, sugar will last indefinitely. All you need is an airtight container...food grade bucket or mylar bag. No oxygen absorbers thought. Just keep it dry and air tight.

Cook the bacon in the oven and save all the rendered fat. Freeze them cooked so you can just pull them out and easily zap in microwave and use.
This is such a great idea. I’m going to start doing that as the bacon make such a mess, may as well cook it all at once.

2) If I have small new potatoes scrub and toss them in. Otherwise peel and cut large potatoes into large chunks.
3) Add the corn beef. Bring to a boil and then simmer until cabbage and potatoes are tender.

2) Add a can of biscuits on top. Put back into the oven and bake until biscuits are done.

I love the Classico..especially since they are actually in a canning jar! The vermicelli can be made just like the Rice a Roni. Mix a portion of each one, and brown it in olive oil…then add water or broth and cook the same way!
I have used the buttermilk powder for years. The fresh spoils so quick. This way you always have some especially for a cake etc at a moments notice😊
ELEVEN DOLLARS! HAHAHA, I was laughing so hard there.....I feel like I say something similar much more often these days.
Have a great 🦃day!💜🙋🏻
All of the fresh fruits and veggies are great for your hubby.
Fideo works better when you brown it little in oil. Just look up Fideo on RUclips.
If you have a Dollar Tree discount store, take a look at their canned and paper tissues goods because often the store carries name brand items for a $1.00.
This was highway robbery oh my god I laughed so much sorry Denise I couldnt help it 😂
I spotted the Better Than Bouillion but you didn’t mention them. Was waiting to hear your opinion. Really enjoy your advice. Thanks
Love your videos, Denise! I think you'll really like that Saco buttermilk--it's so easy to keep on hand, and they also have some great recipes on their website.
Thank you for great deals n essential foods to get; chicken breast in cans are great; many different meals can be done with it: n has protein
I love those baby pastas!
How long will sugar last if stored properly? Denise you are giving me some great ideas for my pantry. Have a wonderful weekend.
White cane sugar will last indefinitely, if stored in mylar bags. No oxygen absorbers tho. You'll end up with a brick lol. (Same with salt)
@@Jennifer_Skinner If stored properly, sugar will last indefinitely. All you need is an airtight container...food grade bucket or mylar bag. No oxygen absorbers thought. Just keep it dry and air tight.
Bacon has went up i buy clearance meat all the time ,saves us money and helps with prep!
Stagecoach Chili is absolutely delicious
I recently used that canned ham in a pot of my pinto bean soup, and it was good!
Fresh eggs will last for months in your fridge
I have a few of those canned hams.
Your shopping is great. How can you preserve celery? To last longer.
