Love to read this. How it transcends countries. Though still makes me remarkably proud to be from the tiny strip of land that produces such amazing talents. One of the few things the UK does well.
It's saddening how one of the most iconic bands in the UK, and rightly so, are virtually unknown. I hope that some day they play here again, cause I'd do everything in my power to show up and go ape shit.
Good popular music is dead. What exists today is nothing more than corporate electronic music that is all about producers and laptops. The producers are amazing at what they do but the music simply is not about artists and creativity the way it used to be.
On that note I remember being followed around the gift store at Universal Studios in Florida on a family holiday in 1990 by some guy who must have been in his late 20's to the point security went up to him. All he wanted to do was ask where I got my Made of Stone tee shirt from (same print as the design for the single) . I am from the UK and picked it up from HMV in London, so some guys knew about the Roses even at that time... I was 15 at the time and the Roses were my life.

What a shame. Ian still can't sing after all this years while the others especially Mani and John improved a lot. Ok John has always been a genious anyway.
I am a huge Roses fan and was at the front row of this set. It's hard not to be underwhelmed by the performance as Ian's vocals really did let the show down. Not to say it wasn't good as it definitely was, Fools Gold guitar solo was insane. But when someone is blatantly singing out of tune, you can't cover it up by saying it's not an important part of the show. 15:58 No-one in the front row knows any of the words!! What the hell are they doing there. It's sad seeing such a magical band going to waste on a dead crowd like this.
First off, I'm an American and I adore the Roses, along with The Smiths and The La's and others. The Roses, in particular, stand out, though: they encapsulate a sound so perfect words don't do it justice. Second, I don't think anyone should fault Ian's vocals here, since they're still worlds better than what they were in Blackpool (IMO). Besides, what he lacks vocally he makes up for as a front man overall. Lastly, a suggestion to fellow believers: keep the faith. They're back, after all.
John Leckie did a great job producing the 1st Album, he saw that tbe band were shit hot but Ian was prone to sounding flat so he put all manner of reverb/echo effects on the recording which made it very hard to recreate in a live setting, you can hear thats what the sound crew have tried to do here but he's as flat as a pancake! Reni is as good as ever and overall the music is fine but the vocals are everything and in turn they fuck the whole sound up!
The John Squire show. Ian Brown looks uncomfortable, they should have left it to what it was. That's the trouble with reuniting bands, the scene has gone. The scene forgives any shitness, because you just want to be there. Now they're old and we're all looking at them as critics and taking them apart, which we would never have done under the influence of what was in us at that time.
Reni what a drummer one of the best ever
Andrés Naranjo no topper from the clash is miles better than Reni

Even the guy wearing the lemon t-shirt has his mouth firmly closed. Weird.
@@alexbennett9407 I love I Am The Resurrection and Made Of Stone.
11:10 Driving South!
Amazing as always:)
This is just magical
Still flat after all these years.... Great players, but going through the motions a bit, until John wakes up and turns the wah off and let's rip.
man i was f-d up to this cd for a few years in my formative years. what a shame they didn't get to do a lot more.
America will never understand it
goosebumps through the whole thing, to be there would be like the second coming
Everyones going on about how 'boring' the crowd are, maybe they're just watching the performance and listening to music
or maybe they’re just american millennials
come to Brazil, roses! ..the best crowd of this world !
It's the Reni show. always was.
get your eyes tested, your talking out your arse
Get your ears tested mate, Squire is awsome on this But Brown sound pretty shit!!
Brown has always sounded shit to be honest
+Mr G not true, listen to the Madison square shows from last week on YT, he sounds quality.
