After all these years this us STILL my favorite ptx song. And they were honest with the world clear back in that never think you know what they're going to do with a song. Not only are they insane with talent they don't want to be pinned down and labeled traditional so don't go in to any of their songs with any preconceived notions on what it'll sound like. Its ptx. You it'll be awesome now sit back and enjoy.
It's a fun one. Glad you enjoyed it. Silent Night is another favorite of mine performed in a church again. When you have a chance Avi Kaplan has done a gorgeous performance of his song "When I'm A Fool" live at Sunset Sound Studios just released on an E.P. Amazing range.
I haven’t mentioned him in a while because I’ve said so much about how much I love his voice already, but I don’t want new viewers or others to think that I don’t appreciate him because I LOVE him, but it’s so hard to describe how special he is. Like all of them are in their own way! 💛
I’m a huge Avi fan. I recommend going to a concert when he tours again. He toured last year, and I saw him in Phoenix. It was great! He’s an embodiment of warmth and tranquility. His voice reaches your soul.
The whole idea of watching reactions is to have that good feeling of sharing something with others. Your reaction to this video really provided just that. The African vibe to this song really made it special. You could tell that the group knew they had made something special. The rhythm section of Avi and Kevin really carried this song. Thank you for creating to it.
Here's 2 Xmas songs that will really make you vibe and be happy for the season...."12 Days of Xmas" and "That's What Xmas Means To Me". They take to classic and "boring" songs, but will really make your day(s) !!
When people ask for recommendations of the next Pentatonix song they should listen to, some of us like to say, "Think of a song you hate because you've heard it too many times, or heard it sung too poorly. Type that song's name into your RUclips search box and add the word 'Pentatonix.' If they've covered it, that will find their cover of the song. Listen to it. It will likely become your new favorite." And when we say that, this is one of the songs we're thinking of. PTX takes "O Come All Ye Faithful" to a whole new level. I love the African vibe they put on this classic, and I love it that they turn it from something solemn into something that makes me want to dance. The sacred *should* be joyful.
Thanks Carmen! I love this one too, you are so right, it's a vibe and brings so much joy! When you're in the mood for Avi taking opening and closing verses, albeit a more traditional take on the song, The First Noel is really beautiful.
Great reaction! This is such a different take on an old traditional Christmas song, it's really a whole new song entirely! You can't help but move to this, the beat is so catchy!
This song is so epic, they turned a regular Christmas song into such a fun song. They’re all so joyous during this. Have you reacted to Joyful Joyful? I’ll have to check your playlist. If you have not I would highly recommend their live version from the evergreen tour specifically. It is one of my favorites and I’m still over the moon that I got to hear them sing it live in concert a few weeks ago!
Hi Carmen, I have commented before on how honest and intelligent your reactions are. I share your love for Pentatonix and can't wait for more of their songs for you to react to. Please take the time to listen, and hopefully react to, The Little River Band. I know you love harmonies. (I suggest Lonesome Loser first. I think you will love them.
New subscriber. Love your reaction. This version is my favorite that features Avi and Kevin, but Daft Punk does the same Pentatonix really are a rabbit hole worthy of falling into. "The Prayer" has to be my ultimate festive favorite thus far (talk about getting Mitch-slapped LOL). Every single one of them are incredibly talented. ♡♡♡
What a beautiful reaction, Carmen. I remember in the early days, when you were unsure and nervous, but now the confidence shines. So professional and charismatic. I love all of PTX's Christmas songs, but my fav is Little Drummer Boy. From all of us Pentaholics, have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.
PTX just released another song with an African beat on the latest album. I think it is stunning and joyous as well. No video (yet), only audio, but you should still react to it. “Love Came on Christmas”. Joy to the World mixed with an African hymn, Kumama Papa, mixed with original lyrics. A masterpiece!
Hi Carmen, love ❤️ your reactions. If you enjoy a capella, then can I point to to watch VOCTAVE, They will blow your mind with their talent. They even have a guest appearance from Kirsten from PTX in one of their arrangements.
This would probably not be for reacting, but here is a snippet of a video of Avi singing Oh Holy Night when he was in high school. I believe he was 17. Though his voice was not quite so low yet, he had a beautiful voice and was already showing abilities in arranging music. Avi Kaplan Oh Holy Night ruclips.net/video/wrrbSOfDEt8/видео.html Hope you enjoy it!
It's so funny, because when I very first saw that they had recorded this, I avoided it for over a year. I used to have to sing it in church choir and I guess it left some kind of aversion (not least because i'm now an atheist, ig). In many Western churches, at least in my experiences, it's usually sung as quite a somber sounding/feeling song, boring even (certainly not the kind of song you dance to); though there was a little section towards the end with what they called a descant, where a small section of the choir (sopranos or trebles, iirc) sings a different & higher melody behind/above the regular melody. So I had grown to dislike it (the same as I did with 12 days of xmas). Finally, I caved in and watched it, and I was absolutely blown away with it. The feel & rhythm that Kevin brought to it just elevated it to the kind of upbeat song it should have been all along, something joyful and that you wanted to dance & "praise god" to I never understood why church was always so somber). I think that's why Kevin is so into it with the dancing while beatboxing, it's his vibe, itwas something he helped put together in the song in homage to his African & Carribean roots & to his parents. I mean, how can you not dance to it, it's such a vibe.
I’m doing an u,tea mash up of every RUclipsr who reacted to it, and I’m going to remix this also. ❤ God bless in Jesus’s name. Pure joy, that’s when the Holy Spirit come though. I wept with joy
Good reaction. PTX is awesome! But, serious question. Have you really not heard of O Come All Ye Faithful? Only reason I ask is you asked if you pronounced it correctly. But then you mention during the reaction that you’ve heard the song before. Just confused. Not trying to troll.
Yes I’ve heard the song. The reason I asked if I pronounced it correctly, is because English is not my first language. I’m Dutch so I just wanted to make sure.
@@CarmenReacts ah! Ok…makes sense now! You Dutch! Haha You all speak English so fluently that it always catches me off guard (I served in USAF with a Dutch exchange pilot…great guy…and worked with a lady in my previous job…great co-worker). Thanks for letting me know and not taking offense. Again…great reaction! 👍🏼👍🏼
This was an homage to Kevin's parents. His dad is Nigerian and mom is from Grenada! Love it! ❤
That is awesome! 💛
One of my most favorite things about PTX is that they enjoy what they do and they show it. Smiling, laughing, joking around. It's fantastic.
The choir adds so much depth to this fun version! You just have to move with this one! You just have to smile! Thank you for your wonderful reaction!
I can watch this every day for the rest of my life. More things should just make you happy and smile. And dance and sing.
Knew you would love this carmen, check out the little drummer boy by pentatonix
Complete JOY!!!!!! Best Christmas song ever to feel good!!!Thanks!! "The First Noel" by PTX
Avi on the pipe organ --- bass full open!

Second both of these recommendations. Also First Noel by ptx is a favorite.
@@cocohol3513 I 3rd 4th and 5th these recommendations!!!😉
Those few seconds when you were describing your feelings for Mitch were just a perfect reflection of how so many of us feel.

I love how they refresh so many classic Christmas songs! Joyful and festive indeed. Thank you for reacting to Pentatonix 🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄

Love Kirstie and Mitch in this.
Recommend their new original video, Kid On Christmas.
Love your reaction. This song is certainly energizing. Also my tree is smaller than yours, ha ha.
