Yes, it has settings to turn off the amp modeling, and also turn off the cab (IR) modeling, so you can use just the effects into your choice of amp/speaker.
I think it really depends on the purpose of using one. I find the MG30 to be more suitable for my needs, it has effects loop, stereo outs. All sorts of issues with this thing. Problems with active pickups and passives(on the acoustic IR's only). WAY too much gain, turning up to 2 is like 6. The clean sounds/acoustic sounds aren't bad so it's kind of a shame. Sending it back. "You get what you pay for" still undefeated

Thank the chip shortage for that. They are starting to hit the shelves in North America in bigger numbers though.
Gotta be honest this sounds like a big ad tbh, like a sales pitch. Would greatly appreciate further personal impressions on it, maybe give it a little while and give ur honest options on its usefulness. I know it sounds like I'm whining
Am I not supposed to be here? This was on the channel for a minute apparently
Fluff, how did you record the audio for this video with the NUX?
I can't say for sure how he was running it, but the MG30 works as a direct audio interface if you run the USB-C connection to your computer, and select it in your DAW.
Id like a side by side compare to the high end stuff. I was duped into line 6 when i entered the digital world, years back and that pushed me right back to tube amps. Id rather have 1 amazing tube amp than a bunch of bad digitized tones.
The Helix line isn't "bad". You wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
@@morganghetti isn’t the Helix like $1600. I had a PodGo which sounded really good and probably 98% of the Helix. I think it was like $400.
So my question is this or the Mooer GE200?
Hotone Ampero!
Tell them to build use a small standalone capture/profiling pedal :)
That’s not going to happen anytime soon there’s a reason the cheapest profiler is literally thousands

They already had Solid Studio that can do IR capture for CAB, and Optima Air can do IR deconvolution for Acoustic Impulse Response.
Looks cool
Has he shown us that PRS??????
The mg300 is the bigger version? It's like half the price of the MG30.
The MG 300 Is the Little Brother of MG 30
This is a 10 minute commercial. "You could consider this a sponsored video..." ya think?!
only one distortion sound ?
It's unlisted be on the channel... odd
All sorts of issues with this thing. Problems with active pickups and passives(on the acoustic IR's only). WAY too much gain, turning up to 2 is like 6.
The clean sounds/acoustic sounds aren't bad so it's kind of a shame. Sending it back. "You get what you pay for" still undefeated
which Modelling Amp do you use? I had the Fender GTX50 and Ampero II and the NUX just has gains clear and beefy. GTX and Ampero very digital
Use your foot to change from rhythm to lead. There is a massive time delay. The noise gate no good. I also had to put a external distortion pedal due to the poor quality of distortions. Also the foot switches break down like 4 months of use. Wouldn't recommend this unit to anyone
Amazonville appears to be sold out...
What Joe Lutz said.
wait what? the mg300 is a worse version and smaller i think you might be confused
I caught that too !!
I almost don’t want to like because it’s already at 69 likes
sorry if im bein wierd dude......... however, you have a standing freq at 2.3khz in this vid..................... great vid though. sounds like an amazin choice for all.
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
Can patches be assigned to the footswitches? Or are they only meant for navigating the interface?
They are for navigating the interface. It comes with a 2 switch separate expression pedal, which can be used for turning effects blocks on / off on a particular patch. When I play live, I make sure to group all of the presets I am going to use near each other, so I don't have to keep clicking through the preset list to find them. With the new firmware, you can also set up 3 scenes for each preset, and assign the tap switch on the main unit to change scenes.
I am still in love with my Roland GR-55. The Japanese somehow convert to analog, and when run through, even a small tower pa, kicks, any of these digital pedals ass. I get it of you do not have the $, it probably beats line6.
There is absolutely something to be said for the particular sound of ROLAND gear…. It has a sort of “warm” or “round” digital conversion - i fully agree those terms should make no sense when talking AD/DA & certainly not in a positive way - But indeed they seem to somehow.
Sounds like my 1996 Ibanez pt-3. By that I mean....doesn't sound real....flat ....this or a pedal board of Beringer clones.....I'd go behringer
Lol he released it early by accident last week
Well it’s not 30 years ago, so you’ve got other comparison’s to make.
The 300 isnt the bigger brother dude.
"You can consider this a sponsored video..." It either is or it isn't. Don't you have to legally disclose that or can you just tip toe the line like that? Because this video just comes across as an advertisement for another mediocre modeler.
*eye roll* - Yes, if he got compensated (including if he didn't get paid but kept the unit) then he has to disclose it. If they sent him a test unit and he sent it back? Then no, it's not sponsored and he doesn't have to disclose it.
@@ScutMonkey its unethical, but no one has to disclose if they got paid. That level of deception is usually pretty obvious. If he's walking some line, I kinda get it, but I don't think he'll hawk just anything.
@@RobbieTayVaughan You absolutely have to disclose that.
