Y'know with the amount of times I went mass dragoon and never lost, I'm starting to think maybe Artanis has not gotten over the loss of Fenix, like I can imagine the Dragoons are off doing their thing meanwhile Artanis is just somewhere in the corner of the Spear of Adun weeping to this day as he keeps warping more dragoons.
I just started the other week on this game as a whole. I liked him so I stay on him. I have pretty much just constantly spammed Dragoons and Observers only.
Yep Dragoons only cuz they have good range when upgraded and their freaking immortal they get invulnerablity xD. Observers are neat for using teleportation top bar ability
As a new co-op player.. you are the most fun to watch and I search your guides specifically because you make a boring guide into something entertaining. Thank you
No, thank you. I always think that there is someone that not only has been doing this thing lo9nger than me but also better than me. The fact that you have seen the "little guy" is reason enough to thank you!
Your tip about the Solarite Bombardment is almost on point. You should use it tactically instead of impulsively, but you will want to maximize the number of times you use the call down. As soon as you see the slightest window of opportunity to use the SB, do it. It costs nothing, and will probably save your army for the next objective/attack wave. You shouldn`t use to clear a dozen zerglings, nor to clear your expansion, obviously lol
I'm a starcraft veteran and I'm loving your videos. I needed not so serious but serious funny content jajaja and although I know how to play these commanders I watch the vids cause they are entertaining. Peace from Puerto Rico bro
I like artanis, while I agree the protoss premium is a thing, artanis is actually the most spamable protoss. With 200 starting supply, you can just make like a pylon then start spaming zealots while upgrading stuffs at twilight council. Once you have 2nd base then you start spamming dragoons. Also ToxicSpill, you are underselling guardian shell and warp speed boost, those 2 mastery are what made artanis strong because with p2 artanis, you can get the warp boost everytime you teleport your army. At full 30 points it will give 60% extra attack speed which is just crazy amount of dps. The boost itself last for 30 seconds. Even without p2 artanis, you can still use that mastery but the timing is a bit different since you need to engage with smaller army 1st then spawn the rest. Guardian shell makes your relatively squishy army not being able to get 1 shot. Its really useful in early game where every unit loss hurts.
I know you mentioned Archons, buuut... You know how you mentioned that an Archon requires two units? Yeah, well you could have a massive amount of High Templar instead those thicc Archons. For skilled players, you can research all their upgrades and just pair em up with dragoons against basically any composition. Massive amount of small, light units? Storm em Large amount of massive units or fliers? Shoot em out of the sky with Dragoons AND storm them. Spellcasters? No problem, Feedback will solve all your worries. Need quick shield recharge for your expensive Immortals? *STORM YOUR OWN IMMORTALS* when you get the upgrade for shield recharge. Now, you will need to practice all that. But honestly, for mass spam of two to three units, I would say it's worth it. Last game I played with Artanis, I used dragoons and high templar almost exclusively. I was wondering if I was playing on Hard, but replay confirms it was Brutal so oh well.
I can not deny the sheer awesomeness and power of the high templar troop. However you are speaking to a player that is allergic to ability heavy troops cause I'm just that bad. LOL
It's rather impressive you play without the use of hotkeys xD I can't help but put my nexus on 1 at the very start and change it over for army and 2 for spellcasters, if ya think the protoss premium is bad xD try prestige 1 xD
i think i l'm lucky that i learned quite a lot from multiple war material about flexible mindset. Prestige 1 Artanis remains my favorite as I feel stupid elite. I have Nerazim's brutal damage though low numbers but also maintain First Born's tactical veratility. Combined that with some knowledge about ancient Rome Army and really every player i play with always feel save to just go do their thing when my army is straight up a crusade. 2 Zaelots -> 1 Dragoon as starting point I have two and then i get an observer first before another 2 Zaelot - 1 Dragon thing. Then 2 Immortals as Akundelar and 3 Phoebes, then finally 2-3 Tempests, making more Robotics and Warp Gates. For structure, i go hard by 3 Forges and 2 Cybernetic Cores pretty early, then a Twillight Council super early to boost my quality.
I'm abit late to the party but imma be getting a gaming pc soon and I wanna play starcraft and I've been binge watching these guides. Got my eye on some infested civilians and marines xD
Gaming pc for a game that's getting close to being old enough to vote. You don't need a great rig, all cores past the second one are simply unused by starcraft.
You do know reavers are the summum of the toss in sc1 right. They obliterate units instantly Regarding Archons they are mandatory if going offensive ground force with; high health, splash damage(great against light units like broodling, interceptors and more), bonus against bio units (all zergs), got the ability to attack also air units, are massive units that cannot be lifted off with enhanced psyonic storm. Mixed with Zealots they are op. Never underestimate Archons
you’ve made a mistake with the mastery power set 2! energy regeneration and cooldown reduction is not for his top bar abilities, it’s for his UNITS’ abilities. it makes high templar and archons regenerate energy faster, makes reavers build scarabs faster, zealots charge and spin more often, phoenixes lift more often, immortals barrier more often, and tempests able to use disintegration more often. basically if you rely on units that aren’t dragoons or tempests, it makes them more powerful.
I usually do mass tempests(as much as gass alows) and than zealots to take group enemies and die. I abuse couple s immortality when units get to low health by warping in new zealot when old one dies. Keeps enemies occupied while tempest do their work from the distance (effective strategy to counter hybrids)
this is just starcraft 2 guide. I'd think that when making a coop guide for a specific commander one would assume the viewer already knows protoss units and mechanics of coop, and instead focus on the actual builds and strategies of the commander. but I'm not the creator so do what sells best.
I though Vorazun was terrible to grind to max Presige but OMG is artanis even worse. Vora was atleast intresting to play. Artanis is JUST BORING, that and his army is terrible till level 15 due to the massive early game mineral cost.
This guide is pretty lame. First of all, you should mention Artanis has a huge economics boost because he starts with 200 available supply and a 52,5% chrono speed boost with mastery. Secondly, warp haste and Guardian Shell make Zealots excellent for deleting enemy waves and literally any unit he warps in on the fly in battle pretty much guaranteed to inflict a good amount of damage before dying. Dragoons and Zealots are perfect opposites in which one's weakness is the other's strength. Seriously, while Dragoons struggle against large groups of skirmish unit, Zealots are perfect for slaying them. Zealots struggle against air and armored targets, the Dragoon will obliterate them from afar. There is not one enemy composition which Zealot x Dragoon combo isnt good against
i usually add 10 high templar not for offens but for 50 shield restoratin, it keep the zaelot for not dying really fast and make them ready for another battle

Storm has an upgrade to restore shields and stack, so if you can manage your troops well high Templar are superior to archons

- zealots (warp and die)
- dragoon (Photon spider)
