One of the most complex people on RUclips. Your channel trips me out man, in a good way. Excellent and nuanced content. Really digging your work. Thanks for posting it.
ok after almost 2 years of watching your stuff i finally broke down and ran 5e last weekend. By the way, i hadnt played a dnd game since like AD&D back in the early jurassic period. Anyways, it was great, my crew and i totally loved it and i gotta admit i stole a whole ton of ideas from you because sir, you are the DM's DM. The crew are junior wagon escorts for Feudal-Ex, the biggest courier company in the realm. When you absolutely need it there eventually!! (one of my players works for Fed-Ex, little inside)
I don't play D&D or drink alcohol, but this is one of the coolest channels on my list. I like to smoke medical grade cannabis and sculpt miniatures while I listen. So it's more like Drunkens & Draggins, get it? Cause i'm draggin on ma doob.
I was just casually watching and eating my breakfast oatmeal with milk. I felt very inspired when you said "oh the questions", ... drifting off into opening my imagination. But when you said "oh the answers" i almost spilled my mouthfull in a fountain. Restraining did hurt quite a bit, but it was reeeaaally funny. ^^ Thanks for being awesome hank.
I haven't played D&D in like 5 years so I forget Everything. Love your videos, they're helping me get extremely ready for streaming my own D&D campaigns on twitch with Roll20. Thanks a lot!
Do I play D&D? Not really, unless you count 0E clones like Swords & Wizardry or something super-rules-light like DW. Do I LOVE this channel? Hell yes, I do! This is top notch content, wrapped in excellent delivery! Keep rockin, Hankerin!
Awesome room. I honestly don't know how anyone survives the beginning of your campaigns. I started a campaign using your school of DMing and man was it rough for the PCs (including a TPK the second session). Glad you're back Hankrin'. Getting on to 10k subs!
Your the man!!! wish you were near me so i could be a player in your games. Side question, how did you make your homemade dice? They are pretty radical!
hey dude! love your key mechanics vids, but i'd like to know more about how to lead a simple fight like; what not to forget for the enemy's of the party and how to keep fights interesting and not repetetive
awesome video and ideas. do you have any tips for a beginning DM doing something of a high/dark fantasy campaign? I haven't been a DM before so any info is useful.
Drunkens & Dragons: Play D&D Like a Badass time management is a thing man. Im not gonna hold it against you. just saying im sad to see it go. btw, new.. but very big fan man. Im enjoying your videos immensely.
Hankerin what do you do with players who are they type to open the kings crates they're supposed to be transporting? I was setting up the first session a while back and before I could even set the scene fully (they started as slaves being sold and there was going to be an encounter to start them off) he decided he was going to escape from being a slave and fight his captor. I would categorize him as foolheartedly naive. Though, we all are in terms of experience. it makes the whole, planning a session thing difficult because I find myself needing to improvise too much because he's so unpredictable
I let players see "the end of the world" when they get too derailed, they just see nothingness wher ethere's no fun..so with teh royal crate...when they try to pry it open they get a simple : "Despite your best efforts, teh damn thing just wont open"
Might be a dumb question. But by using your boards are you using the players movement speeds individually? Or are they just moving freely until the conflicts?
Question (watching your vids so it might come up). With your really awesome layouts, how do you reveal 'parts' of it that the players don't see at the moment?
I don't like telling people what to make a video on, but I DO like suggesting ideas to people. With that being said, I would personally enjoy watching a video about something I've been noticing lately, that is of course "main character players" and "side character players" and why do you think that happens?
Hey Hankerin, a couple of questions, I'm new to the game: do you acctually use the squares to determine the character's movement on the board or just use common sense? Also, to clarify, did you say on other videos that if the room is dc 11 every check they make on the romm is against 11? And what do you do with more complex enemies in that case? thanks!
Everybody knows trolls don't live in caverns, they live under bridges.. and can be lured out with the correct amount of billy-goats (three) offered up as sacrifice... sheesh man
This is off topic, but are you getting Dungeon World to the table at all? I've found it hard to keep my group coming back for more DW. We normally get about 2 games in and it's back to DnD for 3 to 5 months. I really enjoy DW from the DM stand point, but my players love having tons of material to weed through between games. DnD is my first love and it will always be #1 for me. I just wish DW had more content (official) to keep your attention. Love the vids, keep um coming.
I love the idea of disguised monsters and/or misidentified monsters.... I am using that in my next game. I wish I would have thought of that before lol. Thank god our local football team is doing terrible. :{ I hope to get some of my players out for a game sooner rather than later with fall coming.
Did you know that only a few species of bees, such as the common bumble bee, actually die when they sting someone? So I have to wonder, were they similar to bumble bees, or was it because they stung hell's butt :D
Me and my girlfriend are just getting into DnD and we have come to an impasse - Gold! I think gold as a mechanic is useful, but she thinks it is outdated and used for weak plot points. Could you make a video addressing the role of gold/currency so that we can use it like a badass?
i love the idea of a monster pretending to be something more fierce, if the players do not pass the perception checks to reveal its true form would you play it as a harder monster?!

You are now the best DM/DJ I know. Drop that dwarven beat, right now!!!
the node uses the term "dwarfstep" to describe the genre...
Subbed. This is one of the best D&D DMing channels out there.
thanks! please help spread the word, as I only "market" my channel by word of mouth
Love this video...
Love all of your video.
You share so much. Thank you
Thanks for all your insights on room design. I am trying out it out for my next session (no tiles, no grids, no read-aloud text, ONE DC!)
All of your room design videos are entertaining and gives great details with good insight.
Creative intro. I like the content too.

Dude your openings are legit
Another great video!
Oh, hello there.. :"D

You should absplutely try playing DnD.
DM has the right to discover and be surprised too! That's the greatest advice that Dungeon World though me!
I'll be using some of this with my neewb group fo sho
Yo dude, I love these videos. You can really tell that this is your passion, with all the laughing and smiling and stuff.
I was just casually watching and eating my breakfast oatmeal with milk. I felt very inspired when you said "oh the questions", ... drifting off into opening my imagination. boooooyah!!!

That intro is 21st century bard! hell ya!
Awesome room. I honestly don't know how anyone survives the beginning of your campaigns. I started a campaign using your school of DMing and man was it rough for the PCs (including a TPK the second session).
Glad you're back Hankrin'. Getting on to 10k subs!
I’m so engaged
Nice terrain board Big Guy:)!!! Cool scenario as always:)!!!
I am slowly catching up on all the videos, and I want to say you channel has inspired me to create a better campaign. Keep it up. 👍🏻
thanks for doing the close ups. great addition to your vids.
Great intro. 👍🏻
I haven't gone beyond the intro yet, but this is the best hahahahah
Interesting take on monster/beast lore in your world, Very "Eaters of the Dead" or "13th Warrior" esque. Awesome, man
Woah, sick dude. I never would have thought you could scratch!
Yes! Another awesome episode! Love it!
Great intro man!
Excellent low level setup! Keep em comin!
New fire picture!
Oh, you succeeded on your Perception check. I haven't noticed until you said it :P
So awesome man! I love your approach to the game!
BEST INTRO EVER
can you make video about stealth checks and how to use it
i love the new intro btw
I love watching him fool around tbh
Turns out he weren't terrorizing the mountain pass. He were just trollin'.
Thanks for the video! You are an inspiration as both human being and dungeon master! Another look into your DM tome soon?!
How would you do complex cover combat in ICRPG? I thought you could not make PC combat Easy/Hard. The archers would be Hard to hit.
HAHAHAHA you are too much for yourself man! Best intro ever! Greeting programs!
Same exact feels on Charisma.
I need more Hankerin!
I'd love to see a video about how you make your gaming boards.
it's called 'paint and pve'
Haha! Okay, let me ask a bit more precisely: How did you do the grid on them?
The Wizard at 1st level could have burning hands' the hell out of those bees lol
youre really creative and make great videos
Using a lazer pointer might be a good idea, it's often difficult to spot what's your lointing at with your torch
I'd love to see your take on traveling on D&D5e Mr. How to make it more fun simple and interesting.
A hell! just going to bed and this Intro.... Damn son!
Your the man!!! wish you were near me so i could be a player in your games.
Side question, how did you make your homemade dice? They are pretty radical!
just cut em out of sculpey, half bake, then finish cut/cleanup, finish bake and paint
Gust of wind!!!
hey dude! love your key mechanics vids, but i'd like to know more about how to lead a simple fight like; what not to forget for the enemy's of the party and how to keep fights interesting and not repetetive
awesome video and ideas. do you have any tips for a beginning DM doing something of a high/dark fantasy campaign? I haven't been a DM before so any info is useful.
that intro was cool
Rockin as alwasys!
Can we get a download link for that sick beat you dropped in the intro? ;p
YOG is included in my 1 hour session mix vid...
as I'm planning a low fantasy (ish) campaign, I was really enjoying these.... sad that they aren't continuing.
they are totally continuing!
Drunkens & Dragons: Play D&D Like a Badass didnt you say at the end ofnthis video that you wont be continuing with the low fantasy?
oh i thot u meant room designs in general... should i do more LOW?
Drunkens & Dragons: Play D&D Like a Badass time management is a thing man. Im not gonna hold it against you.
just saying im sad to see it go.
btw, new.. but very big fan man. Im enjoying your videos immensely.
Where did you get that Haufbrau house stein? Is there one nearby?
i think was octofest
I was gonna ask the same thing! I've only seen a few of those rare drops.
was also going to ask haha. I have six of the big ones but wouldn't mind getting a couple of the smaller ones.
ya teh big uns are great
You got some Brandish on muh Hankerin, what ho Maguro??
Would you do custom sets
Gandalf said "these parts" if I remember correctly, Middle earth is huge, smaug's domain is on the other side of the continent. But good point.
Oh shit, BEES!
Hankerin what do you do with players who are they type to open the kings crates they're supposed to be transporting? Drunkens & Dragons: Play D&D Like a Badass ahh I like it thank you for the quick response!
How do you make your trees?
Might be a dumb question. But by using your boards are you using the players movement speeds individually? Or are they just moving freely until the conflicts?
they have subtle grids, so i use speed as normal
Question (watching your vids so it might come up). With your really awesome layouts, how do you reveal 'parts' of it that the players don't see at the moment?
That was fucking sic!

yeh DW lasted 2 sessions...its just way too thin...more of a lesson in thinking than an actual game
Is there something you CAN'T do? Omg!
By Elminster's beard! Drunkens and dragons remixxxxxxxxx!!!!
Neat.
fresh intro yo...
I love the idea of disguised monsters and/or misidentified monsters.... I am using that in my next game. I wish I would have thought of that before lol. Thank god our local football team is doing terrible. :{ I hope to get some of my players out for a game sooner rather than later with fall coming.

I'm curious, do you play any tabletop games or is your main focus RPGs?
