    Stravinsky actually did a version of happy birthday in the pointillistic fashion demonstrated here. In fact, he was blindsided by a lawsuit from the author of “happy birthday.“ Like most people, he thought it was public domain. 😂

    In what other time could music from fifty to a hundred years ago be characterized as "unfamiliar" or "intimidating"? That's the real problem right there.

      Opus 11 is one of my favorites. Once the subjects are easily identified (through rigorous repeated listening) the opening movement is quite engaging and coherent. (Even without score in hand).

      don't worry, 20th century music is garbage for snobs.

      @@death0intj It does not work. Music is for me the greatest art and composers have tried almost 100 years, to cram atonality down are throats. 3% of people now listen to classical music. What a p;pity.
