  • I will look into the PineTime watch and the code for the heartrate monitor. PineTime is a "smart" watch that you can be a part of building the software to. The code is pretty small and pretty easy to follow.

Great intro vid! The HRS is a lot better now, but still has heaps of room for improvement. If you're not getting good readings with the current firmware, the first thing to check is.. and hear me out... remove the plastic film from the sensor window! It's almost invisible, there's no "tab" to grab it by, if you haven't peeled it off there's almost certainly one still there, and it does mess up the readings.

      Hi Ashley
Thank you for the suggestion. I've looked into the watch again. And I even throught the battery was dead so I had it in a drawer but I got it running again and no plastic film. Very useful for notifications and other similar tasks so I'm just a happy user now. Might look into writing some code again some day. Got a little put of by the community.
      Best regards
      Daniel

@@DanielPersson glad to hear it fired up for you! I hear you re the community, I have found a bit of a gatekeeping / surly vibe to it myself. JF002 seems to do a great job at being constructive and encouraging, but it feels like the rest of the team care more about perfection or idealism (or having their own PRs accepted) more than progress, and it feels a bit hostile toward contributions. I hope that if/when they solve the user-selectable features problem so that they can accept optional components things will open up a lot more.

Hi Daniel, I've also figured out that the heart rate reading from the PineTime watch doesn't seem accurate. Please let me know if you find out a way to make the reading more reasonable. Cheers

      Hi Steven.
Seems the sensor isn't sensitive enough. Or the chip might be bad in my clock. Sadly my unit stopped working a month ago so I can't continue playing with it. Learned a lot as long as it was functional though.
Thank you for watching my videos.
      Best regards
      Daniel
