What a lovely gift! You’re friend is very kind! I love the curiosity cake!! Thanks for sharing Karen 🌸 xx
Thanks, yes she is! Yes I thought that cake was interesting too. You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it :) xx
What a generous and lovely gift. The yarn colours are beautiful and I'm sure you'll find a lot of inspiration in those books. I hope you get another appointment come through quickly 💜😊.
Thanks Sara - I'm sure I will. My appointment has come through only a 4 week wait, so not bad for the NHS :) xx
How sweet of your friend , we got snowed in but thankfully the rain washed it all away
Yes it was! Glad you got through the snow - I'm actually missing it lol xxx
Beautiful yarns. A beautiful gift from a great friend :) xx
Thanks Sian - yes most definitely ;) xx
I am thrilled that you are going to do something just for you. A lovely teddy in that gorgeous yarn will be great. Love listening to you. What a kind friend. Koala hugs to you and your friend and your mum. I hope your mum is going well after a rotten patch. xxxxxx
No need to answer. xxxxxx
Thanks Virginia. Yes I think it will look lovely in that yarn and should feel nice and soft too. I'm so glad you enjoy watching me natter on lol. Big hugs to you too. Mum is doing ok, thank you, one day at a time xxxx
What a lovely haul from your lovely friend!! Glad to hear your health is a little better at the moment 🙂 We didn’t get too badly hit by the snow here in Bideford, only lasted 2 or 3 days...but some of the nearby towns and villages have been without running water since Thursday!! My little pup was loving the snow, she looked disappointed the morning I let her out and she found the snow had melted 😆😆 xx
Thanks Jo :) Glad you survived the snow! Gosh, we didn't have any of those type of issues here so we were lucky. Aww so cute, bless her xx
I have that same edgings book! I made the mistake of once showing it to the recipient of a blanket I was making her and asked her to pick a border. Of course, she picked out the most involved, yarn-eating border in the book! What's fun though, is you put the corner of your blanket up against the photo so the photo border frames your work and then you can see what it will look like! Your snow is like ours - doesn't hang around for long but sure is pretty when it's there. Take care!
Oh isn't that sods law Sandra! Oh yes, that's very true - i'm looking forward to playing with it. Yes most definitely - I love the snow :) xx
Storey is a good publisher of DIY-type books. The author of that edging book has done other great crochet books: I own three of them! If you like gardening, their gardening books are excellent as well. Begonia
Oh wow, well I didn't know that. It's good to know you have found the books useful :) I will let my Mum know as she loves her garden xx
Glad you enjoyed the snow great yarn and books I have the Edwards imaginarium book which is great
Thanks Lynnie :) Oh cool - I'm looking forward to working from that book xx
I hate that you had to miss your doctor's appointment, hope you can get in soon, so that you can get things sorted out and some help feeling better. I can't wait to see what all you make with your goodies - I also own that edging book and love it. I love getting books with different stitches to give me ideas on making scarves, blankets etc... Can't wait to see your teddy :) Hope you are warming up now!! Take care!! xxxx
Thanks Grace - my appointment has come through and it's only a 4 week wait, so not too bad for the NHS. Yes definitely will put the books to so much good use. Just got to find the right pattern for the teddy ;) Yes nice and warm here now. Hope you're ok xxx
I need to get one of those border books. My crochet bible doesn't have that many in it.
Yes, definitely do - there are so many borders in it. I plan to do a review on it on the channel at some point. Hope you're well xx
It's royal blue on my screen! haha I knew you like purple & thought why is she saying this is her fave color? Btw i spent all last weekend & Monday determined after 3 yrs too master the sc & dc crochet stitches (double & treble for the UK?) I made a pretty good dish/wash cloth but a few rows still just not sure where to stick the hook...same with dc...that one is still giving me a little bit of the fits so what up now is practice practice practice. Love all your new goodies :)
Lol sorry about that - i don't know why cameras change the colour sometimes, its so annoying - it honestly was purple :p Oh wow, good for you hun. Yes practice lots and lots and I promise it will click. Jayda Institches here on youtube has some fab basic tutorials - i think that might help you to locate the stitches - the top of them basically look like a sideways V. Glad you enjoyed it :) xxx
Yes...I love 'Jayda Institches'...her vid is how i learned to do the washcloth :)
Awesome, stick with her, she's the one i learnt from :) xx
